I have been using this hand mixer for almost 2 years now. While I may not use it daily or even multiple times each week (depending on the week), I do seem to use it several times a month. I thus far I have not had any difficulties with it. The following are the things I really like about it: - The simple easy to use on/off and speed buttons being at the top - The 9 different speeds. I like how it starts at a slow speed to prevent splattering and the gradual ability to build up the speed. Which the higher up it goes, can be very aggressive. - The solid, non flimsy feeling I have when using it. It isn't heavy but yet isn't too lightweight either. For me it is just the right weight. - The motor has remained strong. I haven't experienced any lagging, whining noises, or the smell of the motor being overworked. The attachments have also always mixed at consistent speeds. - The swivel cord I really, really like! It allows me to position and maneuver the mixer however is most comfortable for me depending on what I am mixing. Plus overall the cord length is nice. - The latch release I greatly prefer. I feel safer having a button that I deliberately need to press to release the attachments. - I like the beaters and chef's whisk attachments. So far there has been no rusting of any of the attachments. - The storage area is nice. I like being able to store the cord and attachments all in one place. While it does still latch easily, I have noticed recently though that there are times when I pick it up by the mixer handle, the mixer comes up off the storage area instead of the whole unit coming together. This by no means is a deal breaker for me, I have just started to grab it by the storage case instead of by the mixer handle. The following are a few observations or things that could be improved: - The dough hooks seem to be most effective with cookie doughs and lighter bread mixes. - The recent inconsistent ability to be able to pick the entire unit up by just the mixer handle when attached to the storage area. As picking it up this way is a preference, however it is still very easy to pick the whole thing up by the storage area and this is like the only tiny pet peeve I have about this product. As I stated up above, this is in no way a deal breaker. Before we bought this, we thoroughly read many reviews and here are a few additional thoughts I have from using it these past 2 years. I in no way feel this mixer is dangerous or that I need to take any extraordinary precautions when using it. As with any appliance, you just have to be mindful of your surroundings and make safe choices. I know some have indicated that the attachments can fall out, I have only had this happen once and it was when I didn't put them into their matching openings. Another reviewer spoke to this and I want to reiterate, there are two different fitted holes for the attachments. Each hole looks slightly different, as do the tops of the attachments. If you correspond them appropriately, I have never had an attachment fall out. When I did make this mistake, the beaters fell out as soon as I pointed the mixer slightly downward, way before I turned it on and then I realized the mistake and just switched them. It was not a big deal at all and just reminded me that I need to be mindful about this before inserting them. Lastly, while getting everything into the storage container can be a little tight, once I figured out how to have everything organized so I could still close it, I've just continued putting everything in there that same way and have had no difficulties with making everything fit. Overall, I have really enjoyed this mixer and would absolutely buy it again!

I bought this item to replace a bulky and heavy bread machine. I make gluten-free bread every week. The difference in its consistency from wheat-based bread means that bread machines can only be used for kneading the bread, then the dough has to be removed and the rest of the process completed manually. My new Cuisinart allows me to put the ingredients in a large bowl and mix using the kneading attachments. In 4 - 6 minutes, the dough is ready for placing in the pan to rise. Clean-up is a breeze compared to cleaning up the bread machine. It's very easy to store and takes up hardly any space at all. My bread comes out great! I'd like to see more recipes for gluten free baking using this small appliance.

I really like this 9 speed mixer made by Cuisinart. I ended my lifelong love of Kitchen Aid and bought this Cuisinart. I love it so much, I bought my daughter the same model. Since I have always used Kitchen Aid, When my 20 year old 5 speed Kitchen Aid died I went to the KitchenAid products first. By all reviews the Cuisinart had far better features, reviews and price. The Kitchen Aid mixers were more expensive. I was delighted when I started using it. I love the power and ease of this model. I have 3 adults daughters who used it and loved it when visiting. Eventually I will gift them with one of their own.

Love this hand mixer. I don’t agree with one of the reviewers regarding the container that came with the mixer... see picture attached.

I've been concerned that my vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster would give up the ghost & I'd have no way to make my pound cakes, requiring a gentle speed. My everyday mixer starts at helicopter speed & then higher. This Cuisinart is perfect! Low speed is low & a touch of the button gets you where you want to be. It always starts off on 1, so there are no mishaps. The mixer sits squarely & firmly on the counter, & the cord is long enough & not in the way. The dough hooks did a great job of mixing up my meatloaf, with more than enough power. I used the whisk attachment for a crepe batter. The storage container is a neat feature. The beater design is easy to clean. That may be the only negative: no cake batter left on them for kids to lick off!

I haven't had a new hand mixer for over ten years! I was using a 6-speed Kitchenaid with power boost. The speed of the cuisinart blew me away...and my 7-Minute icing all over the stove. Oops. It is LOUD but is a work-horse! A lot of power, and maybe too much. Granted, I want to make meringue and whipped cream as fast as the next person, but I don't think there is a big difference in speeds 7-9 besides noise. I do wish that speed 1 were a little slower, actually. One thing to consider is that this thing jumps when you start it. It's like it wants to go faster than the setting for a second, then it throttles back. This has caused a few messes before I worked out the kinks. There was a definite learning curve. My OCD appreciates that this has all the attachments in one place. That alone is why I bought it.

I bought this mixer for my wife as her old "beater" was nearly dead. I read a lot of reviews when selecting a mixer. One of her complaints was that the old mixer would splatter, particularly when first starting to mix, so the slow start feature would be great. She also loves the storage box for the various attachments that come with the mixer - we emptied out a drawer full of old beaters and attachments! There were some customer comments about the "slow start" function not working. Ours works fine - the wife checked it out before using, and the slow-mix function works when turning on the mixer. If you push the start slide switch too far, it goes into a higher speed. If you carefully move the switch when turning it on, it works as advertised. The quality is obvious and has a long history from Cuisinart. My wife loves the versatility and the various attachments.

I was reluctant to replace my 40 year old hand mixer because is was still going strong and doing a fine job. Now I regret waiting so long to join the new generation of mixers. This mixer is lightweight, has tremendous power (powers through cookie dough) clean-up and storage is eezy peezy. For those that complained the mixer would come undone from the case, "read the instructions" it works as advertised. I would recommend that you not have the mixer in the bowl at turn on, as it does start faster than the slowest speed, so start first then immerse for best results.

I have owned the KA 9 speed hand mixer for over a year now and recently purchased the Cuisinart 7 Speed at Bed Bath and Beyond, with their coupon. I have discovered a lot of pro’s and con’s and thought it might be helpful if people were trying to figure out which one they wanted to buy. Both are really good hand mixers, I think the best out there for longevity. Of course I can’t prove that part yet, just purchasing the Cuisinart. The Ka is quieter, and the first speed is slower then on the Cuisinart. You have to remember with the Cuisinart it starts off faster when you just turn it on, and the slows, so hold it out of the bowl before you use it in the batter. Unknown to me as well is that the KA dough hooks tend to make a better bread or pizza dough then the cuisinart, don’t ask me why, maybe its me? Or the shape of the dough hooks, the dough hooks on the Ka seem to be heavier duty and the ones on the cuisinart are thinner but again, I don’t know if this matters. Likewise the cuisinart tends to work better for me in heavier dough then the KA. I haven’t really found a difference in the cuisnart having 7 speeds and the KA having 9. I have yet to use the full speeds on either Mixer. I did try to make whip cream with the balloon whisks and to me anyway, they both seem worthless. I feel that the regular beaters on both actually work better. The KA cost me $99.00 online, but I think QVC has better deals, but I usually use amazon. They are good to work with in case of problems and usually fast shipping. The Cuisinart 7 speed with attachments and carrying case, the same as the 9 speed online here, cost $59.00 and I was able to use the 20% off coupon they always send in the mail and I like that I can go to the store and pick something up, look at first, not something you can do most places any more. I think the cuisinart is a bit louder, but I think it surely works a lot better with a heavier dough. So there seems to be advantages to both of these as hand mixers, the cuisinart 7 speed to me would work just as well as the 9 speed they sell, as its very powerful. I love the look of the KA as well as the Cuisinart, which I got in a beautiful silver color. The KA being more expensive, though I like it being quieter, I tend to go to the cuisnart for less hassle, should my batter be heavier. They say the Ka has a powerful dc motor, again I don’t know about lonegevity if this means it would last longer but those who know motors can tell more than I can. I hope this review might help someone that’s trying to decide.

I had a Cuisinart mixer for 15 years that had an unfortunate accident (somehow my son turned the mixer and it caught his shirt, kid is ok, mixer was not!) I had to find a mixer to make all the cookies I wanted to give out for Christmas! I love how I can put all the attachments in the attached box - AWESOME! And the plus side, when I run the mixer - you can hardly hear it, maybe on speed 4 or 5 it gets louder? I do my baking when everyone's sleeping, so this mixer is really quiet!
