I ordered extra racks so I can start to sterilize the next batch of jars while the first batch is cooling in the rack. The jars are easier to move this way, without shaking them up. Pick up the rack and move them out of the hot kitchen so they can slowly cool. The 15 minutes saved means a lot when you are canning 3 or 4 batches in one day.

I am using it, to can for the first time, and it does just water a canning rack is supposed to do. You do have to work with it, when you are canning quart jars, so that that jars don't tip over. Edges push up against one or several jars. I wonder if putting a long thin rock in as a weight would help keep the edges of the canner from upsetting the jar distribution.

Big improvement over original canner rack

I replaced my rusted 40yr old canner rack with this stainless steel version and I love it! No more rust! The lack of dividers for the jars means more small size jars can be used if quarts are not wanted. The only caution is that the lack of dividers means you really need to use a jar lifter rather than try to lift the entire rack full of jars.

A must have for anyone that cans. No more rusty water from an older canning rack. Well made and should last for a long time. Would purchase again if I ever had to, but I don’t see this rack going bad for a very long time.

After many many years of using the old rusty rack that came with my ancient canner, finally I have this tidy and versatile rack that works much better! A very good improvement over the old rack is that it can be used for small jam jars as well as the larger jars. The old rack was designed for the larger jars and let the smaller jelly jars slip and fall. This works well to lower and raise the jars as well as hold them in the raised position while I manage and arrange. Excellent.

No rust!

Finally a rack that doesn’t rust! It fit well in my Ball stainless steel canner. The ball rack rusted immediately! This one was used every day since I purchased it, and has not rusted! I will be buying another one for my other canner too!

I LOVE this canning rack and all the options it gives you when canning. Where there are no dividers, you can not only do the regular 7 quarts, but you also have to option to do up to 9 pints or 13 half pints in a batch. And the stainless steel finish means no rust. I have four water bath canners and I bought one for each of them. What are you waiting for...simplify your life with this awesome product.

this is just like the other one I had

this is just like the other one I had. (I bought that one at Menards) I have had my waterbath canner for 15 years, and this is my 2nd replacement rack. the first 2 rusted out. I really don't mind tho because they are inexpensive to replace and do last several years. I do a ton of canning so I really can't expect them to last forever anyway. as with my others, the handles seem to fall over easily, but hubby easily fixes that by pinching them at the base with a pair of pliers. I never pull the rack full of canned goods out of the water anyway so this is no big deal to me, i can't stand the handles falling into the water when I am trying to load jars, so I learned that trick a long time ago. I like the smooth bottom over the ones that are compartmentalized because I feel like I can fit the jars in better. overall a great rack and it will see many canning jars.

We needed to replace our very old canning rack. This one was a perfect fit for the canner and we have already used it. We canned applesauce all day with the apples from our four trees. This rack will hold eight quart or pint jars where our old one only held seven.
