I used it for an art project and it worked really well. As an aside, Testor's copper colored model paint is a good match. I had to solder the ends of the wires and the paint did a good job of hiding the joints.

I’ve revised my review to indicate this. As a national level wire jewelry instructor, I buy a lot of wire each year, miles, in fact. I ran short before a big teaching show, so I ordered a 1 pound spool of 16 gauge wire just to tide me over. The package delivered felt light, so I weighed it before using any. It weighed 15.1 ounces, which included the spool it was on. I understand that most manufacturers have a tolerance but they generally don’t include the spool in the wire weight. I will not recommend this supplier to any of my students. -Maria R.

Made a great amateur radio antenna.

Exactly what I wanted

I ordered this because I'm starting a business making copper jewelry, that doubles for health benefits. This tarnishes extremely easy which proves that it is indeed "bare" copper wire. Which is exactly what I need. If you're looking to make really beautiful, shiny copper jewelry this isn't it. The gauge seems uniform so far but it is a full pound of copper so it will take awhile to work all of it up.

I used this wire to assemble a 40 Meter dipole. Works well. Easy to solder and manipulate.
