We have two "adult controlled" tricycles. The Schwinn Easy Steer Schwinn Easy Steer Tricycle, Red/White and the Radio Flyer All Terrain Stroll N' Trike Radio Flyer All-Terrain Stroll 'N Trike Ride On Both have nice features, but I like the Schwinn a little better. I'll explain. -The Schwinn has a wider wheel base so it is more difficult to tip over. This is especially useful if an older child might be pushing a younger child in the trike at any point. It also feels more stable going over grass or berms or natural terrain. -The Schwinn has foot pegs so the child has somewhere secure to rest their feet until they are big enough to reach the pedals. The Radio flyer has no such feature and the legs just dangle. -The Radio Flyer has the plastic bars that encircle the child and it is easy to be lazy and not use the straps. The Schwinn only has straps and thus, we always use them, so baby ends up more secure in the Schwinn. -The Schwinn is also bigger and will accommodate a greater age range of children (from about 8 months to 5 years), while the radio flyer is already too small for our 3 year old. -We have also found that the Schwinn works better for tall people/ long legged adults. We are tall adults 5'10 and 6' and are often bumping feet into the back of the Radio Flyer as we walk. This also happens occasionally with the Schwinn, but not as often. -The Schwinn has a front basket and a rear basket for holding toys or objects found. The Radio Flyer has a smaller rear basket only (though it does have a nifty little cover that the Schwinn does not). -The Radio Flyer has a handy shade that will protect baby from direct overhead sun (but we rarely use it as we do not really use it during that time of the day. The shade is not adjustable so its use is limited (it opens and closes, it does not tilt/ rotate). -The Radio Flyer has no brakes (the pedals just spin backwards). Maybe this isn't a huge deal as kids will learn to put their feet down to stop, but the Schwinn has brakes and the child can learn to use them as they progress towards two-wheeled bike skills. -The Radio Flyer has rubber tires that give a smoother ride than the plastic wheels on the Schwinn, but the rubber stinks bad. We had to park it in the sun for a couple weeks to get the smell to dissipate before we could put it in the garage. -Lastly, the Schwinn is about $60 less than the Radio Flyer at the time of this review. Thanks for reading, I hope this review is helpful!

The adult steering ability of this tricycle is great. As others have said, the front wheel does have some "nails on the chalkboard" squeeks, but I was able to quickly solve that by spraying some wd40 on the front axle where it connects to the front fork. Squeeks are completely gone and my little girl couldn't be happier.

Easy to put together and very practical. You can use the handle to steer it until the little one can do on himself. The footrest moves depending on you child's size. I stupidly could not figure out how to move the foot pegs. I called customer service. They were great. Told me what I was doing wrong and we both had a laugh. Was comforting to know they would help and stand behind their product. Would buy again! Handle goes on and off very easy.

After a lot of research we bought this tricycle for our 2 yr old granddaughter although she is tall for her age she did have trouble reaching the pedals easily so we just built them up a bit with some wood blocks. Problem solved. She loves the trick. Our son loves it because he is not bent over pushing and can keep control of it if needed. The trike is very stable, well made. Easy to put together . Much more stable than the Radio Flyer we looked at. We are all happy with the purchase--our granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law and us. I have to add , that as an ER nurse who has seen her share of head injuries, that you buy a very good helmet to go with the tricycle. We bought one made by Bell that she put on and has no trouble wearing.

The tricycle is a sturdy little guy. Very well constructed. Very easy to assemble. It only took 20 minutes from the time I opened the box to full assembly. The only thing I saw wrong was the little plastic cap on the back of the tricycle for the push handle is a little mangled on the edges from the factory (see attached picture), so the cap can't close. Other than that, it's a great tricycle. I would highly recommend this one over the rest.

My granddaughter loves this trike. She's been using it since she was about a year old. She cannot quite reach the pedals so the foot bar is handy. When not riding she pulls down the steering handle to push it along itself on the rear wheels with the front in the air. When she pedals it herself the stick just pulls out for easy carrying along to put back in when she gets tired. It can be used for young children as long as they sit up well, so they can use it for quite some time. Doesn't look stroller-like/childish like some I have seen. The basket on the front and zipped carrying pouch behind the seat come in very handy too. The wheels are solid so no worry about flat tires. We added a bell and horn for added fun. Very sturdy and well made, easy to assemble.

Just bought this tricycle for my two year old grandson and he absolutely loves it! Very well made, my husband had no trouble putting it together. We live on a dirt road and the tires have no trouble going in the dirt and rocks. My grandson loves the little baskets and backpack so he can put his favorite trains in and take them with him. The handle in the back is at the perfect height and easy to push and steer the tricycle . Definitely worth the $.

I recently bought this trike for my son's first birthday. My son is one next month, but I wanted to test it out and see how I liked it prior to his birthday so I could return it if need be. I first tested it out with my son riding it on carpet. He loved it! We went very slow, and he wasn't quite sure about the handlebars, but he didn't slip at all. I had no issues with him fitting onto the trike or trying to lean forward, which was definitely something I was worried about. He was all smiles the entire time. There was no squeaking of the tires either - it was very smooth and everything worked very well. For reference, my son is 23lbs and 31 inches long. I then took it outside to walk around the pavement with it. My son was not on the trike for this, as the area around my house has a lot of hills and I didn't want him leaning forward! Again, it was a very smooth ride, no squeaking. Since he wasn't on the trike though, this could have been due to a lack of weight. When I got home, he kept trying to climb back onto it. He really does love riding slowly around the house on the carpet. I can see him enjoying it a lot when walking through the paved areas at our local park, which has no hills. It was easy to find a helmet that fit him well too! Right now, it's just for fun. He can see all around him, and turn around and see me. He isn't as restrained as he is in the stroller, so overall he likes being in it much better than being in his stroller. I'm not quite sure if I would use this as a stroller replacement, but I think it's perfect for summer activities with a toddler!

This is great bike to help toddlers learn how to pedal. It's also great for us as parents to help them learn how to steer. I love that it has a seat belt but I don't see that it is completely necessary. The only complaint I have about the bike is that the seat belt latches are hard to unlock and the kick bar from their feet to rest on is really hard to get down. We STILL have not figured out to get it to come down and have had the bike for a couple of months. Thankfully My son doesn't seem to mind and when he is tired of pedaling he puts his feet up on the basket. He is pretty creative. This Bike REALLY is great even though the minor annoyances of the previously stated. But I also may have just gotten a lemon. It happens. So, if you are doing what I have done and went through reading reviews all over to find the right bike for a reasonable price, this bike is great for the price, I would definitively buy this one again

Drawbacks: * Squealing noise while moving (permanently fixed by applying WD-40 where the rod enters the front wheel) * Quality is mediocre (steering isn't tight, parts are slightly misaligned) * I couldn't figure out how to pull down the T-bar foot rest Pros: * Steerable by a 6'2" adult without bending down * My son will ride on this for an hour without complaint while I walk around the neighborhood * Quality is good enough (the ride is smooth on a flat surface, I can override attempts my son makes to steer off the sidewalk) My son can't pedal on his own yet, but he doesn't seem to mind. He loves wheels/bikes/cars and seem happy just to go along for the ride. He doesn't like a stroller any more, but he loves this trike. He seems to feel like he's in control---he always holds the handlebars. My son also loves putting his toys in either the little backpack or the bin. The bin is useful for something small you want to bring but don't want to carry. We paid $80 and don't regret the decision one bit---this is a fantastic trike for (the parents of) a 2 yo boy.
