Looking for basics to stock my closet after a big moving purge, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with American Apparel. Wow great prices here on Amazon! I am 5’4” and thin usually 0-2. I ordered this in the light grey in small and it fits perfect. I like these for the thickness and it softens over time to fit your body type. I use these tees to dress down a pretty skirt or throw on with jeans when I just don’t have the energy to think about it. Great colors that aren’t obnoxious and form fitting yet not tight in the wrong places. Highly recommend if you’re a basic some days like me!

Highly recommend basic tees

Great basic tees. You'll definitely want to size up though. I normally wear a small but the first few tees I bought were mediums (to allow for shrinkage), and they only shrunk a little after washing (cold wash - low tumble dry), but I'm glad I didn't get smalls. I liked them so much I ordered more. The second set of tees I got were larges because I wanted just a little bit looser fit and more length, and after washing them they also only shrunk a little bit, and I have to say I do like their fit even better than the mediums. The colors are nice, the cotton is soft, they're well constructed. Overall very nice quality tees.

liked it so much I bought another one

This is your basic black t-shirt, which is exactly what I was looking for. This is great for the price. I am 5'1" and about 105 lbs, and the small fit me perfectly, not too tight and not too loose. I liked it so much that after I had washed it (shrunk a bit but still fits great) I decided to go ahead and order another one. You might say these run a bit small, because I am usually an XS to SM, but nothing crazy.

Order up! It loses 2 inches in every direction after washing.

Extra large leaves a little extra room for a 36D after washing. It was 24 inches long front collar to hem, 18 inches underarm to underarm, and 16.5 inches across the shoulder pre-washing, 22 inches long, 17 inches underarm to underarm and 15 inches across the shoulder after washing on a normal cycle, warm, with normal drying. (Note that the underarm measurement means it lost 2 inches around, since the fabric is doubled there.) Fine, because I ordered an extra large and when it arrived I was worried it would end up too much like a tunic for my taste when I first looked at it. After washing it fit perfectly.

I love the basic American Apparel tees

I love the basic American Apparel tees. I got this to use in a Cookie Monster costume and it is the perfect shade of royal blue. It is comfortable, thick enough to not be see-through or have wardrobe malfunction issues, is not too clingy, and holds up well in the wash. I use these shirts frequently for my non-profit fundraisers and am always very happy with the quality. If you are a small but don't want it to be very fitted, order a size up. But the fit is precisely why I love these shirts so much - they are form-fitting but not tight/clingy, so it really keeps the feminine shape and can be tucked into skirts or pants without billowing out around the waste. They are perfect!

I Love American Apparel brand! This is a nice basic t-shirt, runs a little smaller than I expected but I love the fit.

Size up from unisex tees!

I've worn items from American Apparel before and the women's tees are more form fitting, but not significantly! I typically wear a S for unisex tees in most brands, but for it being a women's tee, I sized up to a M and it fit perfectly. This was purchased for my Tina Belcher Halloween 2015 costume.
