This is my first product review ever, but I felt I had to pass this on for anyone with this issue... My dachshund has been living with itchy skin on and off for his whole 10 years. Many visits to the vet, and a cabinet full of anti-itch products both natural and not yielded poor results and with my poor little guy still itching. I heard the ads for DinoVite on the radio and decided to look into it. The consensus was that it was a good product, but over priced and there were cheaper and better alternatives like Missing Link. I figured for $12.99, it was worth a try. All I can say is if you have a dog suffering with itchy skin, GET THIS PRODUCT!!!!! It worked like a miracle within a couple of days. My boy is now itch free and his hair is soft and silky like he just went through a conditioning treatment! In fact, I am now a bit angry at my over priced vet for not recommending this amazing product. I once read that itchy skin is the number one reason for most vet visits, so I'm not surprised they don't want to recommend a cheap and effective cure. If you have an itchy dog, I could not recommend Missing Link Skin and Coat enough. Do not hesitate to try this, it is a cheap and effective product, I have probably spent over $1000 on different products, and this was the only thing that worked. I just wish I would have found this sooner.

When I first started sprinkling this on the dogs' kibs, they turned their noses up at it, tried to eat around it, or just stared at me, as if to say, "What am I s'posed to do with that?" Course these same dogs think dirt and what they theive from the kitty litter bin is a delicacy, so... After a few servings of it (drizzled with extra virgin olive oil for their coats), they went crazy for it. Just had to convince them to see it in a new light, so to speak. I no longer have to bribe them with healthy oils, they officially LOVE this vitamin supplement now and bounce and go all cross-eyed, they get so focused on the crinkling of the bag now. I bought this for my 12 yr old German Shepherd/Malamute rescue (who lived a wild and crazy life and whose arthritic joints like to remind him of his earlier bad decisions) and my 7 yr old GSD/Husky with true hip dysplasia from a young age. :'-( The shorthair just gets jealous of anything the pointy-eared siblings get, so she gets a sprinkle too. So far, I can't say I've seen a major difference, but... *** In my experience, supplements like this are subtle and gradual, so you don't really notice unless its a major, distinctive signal or you remove the supplement and they then go downhill (or - hopefully not - improve). By a "signal" I mean, if your dog had been dragging his nails on the pavement on your way home from your daily walk and now he's pushing you to go further and further, and prancing up to the house after. Or suddenly she is jumping into the car on her own again, etcetera. By the latter, I mean that because you are so close to them, you don't notice the little changes, until you do. If one day you looked in the mirror and realized you had grey hair. Then imagine if you stopped drinking coffee and your hair returned to its natural color (sadly that would never work and was a terrible metaphor, but hopefully it made enough sense). You would realize the coffee had been giving you grey hair. With pets, you don't often notice those little changes, either improvement or deterioration, until they become BIG changes. But if you reverse the cause, you may well notice the reversed result. Does that make sense? The moral of that is that you probably will NOT see some magical, overnight return to puppyhood in your dog. In fact, you may not even notice a difference at all, but it could absolutely BE THERE. Watch those subtilties in your dog. Do they walk a little longer? Want to chase that ball a few more times? Jump in the truck without a boost again? Stand up a little quicker? Not groan so much when they lay down? THAT is my goal giving my dogs this supplement. And while this is only my 2nd bag, I believe these guys are feeling a bit younger and happier. The eldest is obnoxious about squeaking his toys again (bless his youthfully annoying heart) and the youngest is jumping in the car by herself. Is it the supplement? I don't know, but I'm sure not going to stop giving it to them now. This product is $$$, but all the ones that are safe and truly have the potential to do what they claim are $$$. I won't even try anything questionable on these guys. Read the ingredients on the back. The protein and flaxseed and breakdown of goodness in this. Its much better than many comparable products. That is why I bought another bag. I want my dogs to have quality of life straight thru their entire lives. If that means coercing them a bit to eat healthier food and spending more to get it, so be it. They are worth it.

I LOVE this stuff! My sweet old boy was limping pretty bad for a month. Nothing worked. He had horrible trouble with the stairs (we carried him up & down to keep him from falling). He stopped running after doing his business. He was tripping in the grass & falling in the yard. And the worst for me, he stopped playing keep-away with his toy in the yard. He just stopped everything. He was also not eating well.... My Mom suggested this for both of my furry kids -- and two-ish weeks in, NO MORE LIMPING! HE'S RUNNING! HE'S PLAYING AGAIN! AND HE CAN GO UP THE STAIRS! If I sound excited, it's because I am! I was sooo worried about him. I've got my boy back. Thank you for this.

Dogs love this. Missing Link is a great company with professional support. They stand behind their products and are readily available to help with your special needs. I have 2 dogs on a home cooked diet. My local vet strongly discouraged my attempts to compete with professional dog food makers. My requests for a dog food recipe and vitamin supplements were met with skepticism, reproach, and no support. A website with a dog liver cleanse diet recommended Missing Link to supply the necessary supplements that would be missing from a home cooked diet. I was impressed that the Missing Link vet took sincere interest in my dog's health issues and provided recommendations. The Missing Link gave me the confidence to commit to a home cooked diet. After 2 months, my dogs are healthier and more active than they had been on their prescription dog food diet. Unlike other dog food supplements, and many dog foods, the Missing Link has a pleasant smell. My dogs love it and would eat it out of the bag if I let them. Try it for your dog's sake.

I have taken in many stay and feral cats over the years. Bringing them into the vet on a regular basis could be quite costly. So it is important that they stay as healthy as they can be to minimize to many visits. I blend a couple of cans of wet food, water, and dry food to make a mix I call gruel. Then I mix in various nutrients and supplements, one of them being Missing Link. The cats love it. I very seldom have any medical problems with the cats and most live to be around 18 to 20. I am satisfied with this product.

I was skeptical that this would work for my dog. He is 8 years old and 70lbs. every year at this time he eats himself raw because of dry skin and his skin disease (Mange). I tried every type of organic food. None of them worked! This is looks like sand that you put on the dog's normal dog food. Well after having him eat this for a month before his raw biting skin, this prevented it from happening this year! I would not of wasted my time reviewing this but because he still has his hair and skin not bleeding I was so happy with this product. THIS REALLY WORKS! His skin is still dry so he itches for a minute or two upon waking but no raw biting or hair gone. Please vote if my review was helpful.

My cat is 14 years old and all she did was sleep and eat. When she was younger, she played and wanted a lot of attention. All of that stopped about a year ago. I heard about this product on the radio and ordered it. She is eating it so the taste must be good (she is very picky). Now she is staying awake all day and she is spending more time with me. I think this product has definitely increased her energy level. I rarely write a product review but you need this product for your cat. Buy it now without hesitation.

I started using this about a week ago on my Golden Retriever. She likes to do a lot of swimming in the lake in the summer, and gets a lot of ear infections and goopy eyes that I can only get cleared up by the winter, in order for it to all start over again once the lake is warm enough for her the next year. I've tried everything from coconut oil (ingesting and in her ears), tea tree oil products, anything you can find at the local farm store supply, and the vet just said that it was normal due to her overly hairy floppy ears, that she was just going to be prone to these for a while. After a week of using, I noticed that her eyes no longer get goopy and green the way that they used to, and her ear odor doesn't overwhelm her quite as much anymore. I will edit my review if things change, better or worse.

I have 4 cats of various ages, all rescues from the city shelter. 2 have medical conditions....one has CRF, the other (our oldest at 16) has IBD amd hyperthyroidism. The oldest is on a myriad of medications that have kept his symptoms at bay, but he started developing serious alopacia 6 months ago--so severe that our vet feared it would be the thing that ended up taking him from us. I found Missing Link and saw that it was supposed to help with a number of issues, including their coats so I figured why not give it a try. We had been previously adding (feline friendly) fish oil to their food, which they weren't thrilled about, so decided to use Missing Link instead(since it also has the Omegas). All 4 cats found it very tasty and have had no issues chowing down when we mix it in. I started with half the recommended dose the first week and then went to the full amount the following week, no issues. So now to why the 5 star review....I am sure all are benefitting in ways I don't even fully see, but the most amazing is our 16 year old--after many months of severe hair loss, his hair started growing BACK, and quickly. This is after just a few weeks of use I actually only figured out the correlation last night after talking with our vet and trying to figure out (with all of the medications, special foods etc) what was different. This stuff truly works and is a godsend for our sweet senior. I am amazed and grateful!

This supplement changed my 5 year old pitbull's life. Ryder is unfortunately the product of inbreeding (commonly seen in pitbulls) and has horrible hip and other joint problems already in life. Even a walk around the block would leave him limping for the rest of the day and into the next. Because he couldn't exercise, and because of my hesitation to conjur up the painful side effects of walking, Ryder was about 7-9 pounds overweight (a lot for a dog). A couple days after sprinkling this onto his high quality dog food, I took note of how much more alert he seemed than usual. After a week, I noticed he would stand around the house instead of sitting. After about two weeks he was bouncing and frolicking about the house as though in a newly found puppy-hood. I cried with delight when he jumped into the car by himself for the first time since he was a puppy. Ryder has been eating Missing Link for about 3 months now, and I will never take him off of it. Ever. We are walking at least a mile every day without any painful limping or soreness the next day. He can now easily jump up onto the bed (only on special occasions) with ease! He climbs steps like a champ! Ryder has lost 5 pounds because Missing Link has enabled him to have an active lifestyle. This stuff is really inexpensive on Amazon. The 5-lb bag lasts me over two months when feeding to two pitbulls between 60-65 lbs. once everyday. Be sure to store it in the fridge after you open it! *Update 2017 My boy is still going strong thanks to Missing Link. It's worked so well on my dog, my father even took notice of his improvement and started using this for his aging chocolate lab. We took the dogs on vacation with us to the beach last summer- something I don't think Ryder could have handled with his knee and hip issues three years ago. A tablespoon a day for us keeps the joint aches and arthritis away! The price on Amazon has increased by about 35%- sad to see, but, I will never take my dogs off this product after the changes I've seen. I have been able to find it cheaper at locally owened pet stores in my area, on occasion.
