UPDATE: It is closing in on a year (~11 months so far) of moderate to heavy use of these grips and I'm still using the same original pair (and without swapping them between sticks). They do show signs of wear, but are still fully functional. They look and feel like they still have plenty of miles left in them too. Most users should be able to clear at least one year of use on one pair (experience may differ for those who are rough with their controllers). Side-note: I stopped using aluminum thumb sticks and switched to interchangeable thumb sticks (provided by Battle Beaver Customs) around September 2019. The pair I'm using are PS4 OEM style in terms of shape (and using shortest stick option which is a tad higher than stock). After about 9 months of use, the rubber of the thumb sticks themselves still appear like new, i.e. these grips preserved the thumb sticks really well. Original review: I just received these and tried them on a few thumb sticks. So far they appear to stay on very well and do not move (or slide). The grip surface is very satisfactory. I recommend these thumb grips. One thing noticed, is the under edge of them do make light contact with the top of the ring of the controller when installed on PS4 stock thumb sticks. The resulting friction appears to be very minimal/unnoticeable. However, this issue is present with other brand thumb sticks as well. Regarding wear down, all thumb grips will eventually wear. Even if these wear down more quickly than others they are only $5 for two pairs. I will be testing these out further regarding their longevity. I decided to combine these with Buwico aluminum thumb sticks. Those sticks are a little taller than PS4 stock. Another viable option for thumb grips are the GelTabz brand thumb grips. The idea behind this setup is to have aluminum thumb sticks that will not wear down and not need replacement, but still have a rubber grip. The grips will eventually wear down, but its cheaper and less time consuming to simply replace the thumb grips than it is to keep re-buying and re-installing new thumb sticks altogether. I have tried thumb sticks provided by Battle Beaver Customs which wear down very quickly and I have tried Scuf thumb sticks which lasted a LOT longer, but eventually did rub down and needed replacement (this issue is also present with PS4 stock thumb sticks albeit they do last a lot longer now than they did in the early models).

This is an excellent product for anyone who wants a little more feel in their joysticks. I have no big issues with these, but you may notice they fit better on some controllers more than others. For instance, they fit perfectly on my Xbox One controllers, but seem to struggle to go on my PS3 controllers. They still go on the PS3 controllers, but they don't have the same clean and attractive fit as the Xbox One controller. This is not the fault of the project, but caused by the varying joystick sizes based on game console. For this, I did not take off a star. I am not using these because my joystick grips are worn down, but because I wanted more grip and to preserve the pre-existing grips on my controllers.

It is important to know that this will not replace your damaged joystick rubber grips. They are supposed to go on top of the rubber grips. Unfortunately they are not exactly what I needed as the rubber on my joysticks had all fallen off. But I can still manage this for now till I find what I am actually looking for. Also, they look really good... if that matters to you.

These are unbelievable! I have used them for over two years I think! Pros: they're durable! On the original set and haven't used the second set it came with yet. They add grip! The more you have them the grippier they get, I think. They look nice and add a nice change of color. They help your control immensely! They're cheap! Just buy them. Cons: they do tend to slide off if you play super intense games. Rocket league is my main choice and I have had several occasions where they do pop off. But it's not a huge deal. They go on easy enough. They are also peeling. Granted it's been many many hours of gaming. Sometimes if you sweat they're a little slick. Overall a fantastic product. Get one!

The PS4 controller is much-improved over the PS3 controller, in a few ways, but one of them is the analog sticks, which are more responsive, made of a more grippable type of plastic/rubber, and shaped differently (rather than rounded off, they are more flat, and even a slightly concave center. Still, my hands get sooooo sweaty during intense gameplay, that my thumbs were still slipping off at inopportune times. So I started looking for ways to improve the grip surface. I tried cutting appropriately-sized circles out of velcro (the furry side, not the plastic hooky side) and sticking them on top of the sticks. That actually worked fairly well. I also tried bumble bee yoyo break pad stickers (cork), which worked extremely well, but kind of hurt a little (due to the hard edges around the star-like ridge shape). I also tried cutting circles out of bumpy rubbery tub tread stickers. That didn't work at all. Then I thought "maybe someone makes a product to add grip to analog sticks", and sure enough, I found 3 or 4 different products like this on Amazon.com. I didn't go overboard .. I only ordered 2 different ones: The first set I ordered (silicon caps with multiple little nubs on the surface .. sold on Amazon by a few different sellers, under different company names), was a TOTAL waste of money. It said silicon, which made me think they'd be rubbery, but they were fairly hard plastic, and actually made my sweaty thumbs slip even more. The second set however, these ones by the company GRIP-IT, are awesome. I highly recommend them. They are textured, very rubbery, very non-slip ... a definitely huge improvement. They were bit tricky to get on, and get them centered, which worried me at first that they might come off, but they don't. Once they're on, they stay on very well, and feel great. It also occurred to me that a tiny puff of baby powder / talc powder absorbs moisture and improves grip, so I've been doing that too sometimes. Not a lot, so your hands are all powdery. Just a tiny amount.

Below is my original post. I gave these 3 stars at that time. I have been using them for 10 months now and am still on the same pair, which I am about to replace. These things last through a lot of gaming if you remember to spin them around when one edge starts to get worn. Just rearrange them so your thumb is on a less worn part of the edge. Doing that, I got a hell of a lot of life out of the first pair, I'm very happy with how durable they are. And I was right, I thought they would get better as they got broken in and they did. These things grip awesome after they get a little wear on them. Totally recommend these, they are the best grip helpers I have ever used, and absolutely better than using the stock controller sticks. Not a lot better, but better. Definitely helped with the sweaty fingers I get in Destiny raids! In my opinion, there is no point buying these for a PS4 controller. The regular PS4 controller sticks are just slightly stickier and better with sweat with these off than they are with them on. These may come in handy on down the line if the sticks ever lose their stickiness. I am going to keep using them for a few weeks, to see if they soften up any or change in any way. They aren't bad, they just didn't make things any better. If they get better or worse, I'll update this review.

but if it was any more than $7, it would get 4. I have a small chunk ripped out of my PS3 controller, and after weighing my options out, I decided on these covers. A new controller is $60, so I figured there was no harm in trying these, and if I didn't like them, I could at least give them to my brother who has a 360. Some tips, if you feel like gluing them down, make sure you at least like them first, otherwise you'll be worse off than before. Flip them inside out and put it on top of your finger, put your finger right in the middle of the joystick and roll your finger down, it'll flip over. Make sure you roll the edges over the tip of the joystick so they stick. They are WAY more responsive to slight touch than before, and that's exactly what I wanted. I noticed my self having to readjust when doing this like running in game etc. The joystick sticks to my thumbs with ease now. There is a slight difference in feel and height which takes a little bit of adjustment to, but nothing longer than maybe 1-2 hours of play. After that, you should be okay. I decided to use the blue grips and hang on to the black ones, just because I figured it would be nice to look a little different, and for that I'm actually appreciative. If you decide to be incognito, of course there's the black, which seems to look and feel the same. Either way, if your padding is a) worn out or b) missing small pieces, this is a very good upgrade, especially for the cost/alternative of buying a whole new controller.

I got these purely to FIX my ps4 analog sticks. The rubber had been coming off of them. What I did was rip all the remaining rubber off the sticks. I then put these on and they fixed the problem completely. Not only do they provide a grippier feel with less slippage (then a new controller) but the extra height gives a little better leverage for aiming in games. I didnt see this addressed too much in the reviews here. Important to note one thing though. If you have uneven rubber on your analogs, from wear, you may need to rip the rest off for it to fit on properly. If the rubber is uneven before placing them on they wont fit right. I had this issue until I ripped all the remaining rubber off. This shouldnt be an issue if your controller is already worn out, since these are a permanent fix and WILL fit tightly without coming off, in my experience. They are very cheap and you get 4 of them, so its very easy to replace them but they seem like they will last a very long time. Wasnt sure which brand to go with but after getting these I can confirm that they are a great fix for the ps4 controller

I bought a wired Gamestop brand PC XBOX controller for about $25, and I imagine its at least a year old now. Either way, the left stick cover tore so that the underneath part was still on and the top part was coming off like a lid. I bought this four pack of Grip-iT covers for about $5, which is roughly $1.25 per cover. That should extend the shelf life of my controller a couple of years, so I figure it's well worth the money. I can't speak to anything other than this specific Gamestop XBOX controller, but after a few days I think my early concerns have been thwarted. When I first put on the blue cover over my left stick, I noticed the frog foot logo would slide as I pushed on the stick. I also noticed an air bubble in the middle of the stick. Over some use playing NBA 2K, I feel as if that air bubble has either diminished, or I don't care anymore. That is to say, this cover does the job. Now, aside from this product, I would say I find the Gamestop XBOX controller to not entirely comfortable, but that's just a bonus review note. Once I run out of these Grip-iT covers I think I'll do some research and see if there any bigger gamepads out there. The L and R buttons are just kinda lame on the Gamestop XBOX, and feel crappy.

I love these analog stick covers, their cheap price is also another major plus, I purchased these over 2 years ago and they still hold up today. I'm not some mlg gamer that plays hard 24-7, infact I'm actually more of a pc gamer that occasionally plays stuff with an xbox 1 controller plugged in via usb. I couldn't stand how the xbox 1 controller's analogs felt by default, I have the revision where it has the 3.5mm headphone jack built in and supposedly a better d-pad than the launch model, they've since upgraded to a built in bluetooth model and I'm not sure what other improvements but by default the analogs really weren't comfy and dug into my fingers but these grip-it analog covers fixed the issue totally pretty much, I even grew to really prefer the xbox 1 controller over my older cheap xbox 360 rock candy controller I used previously. I've never used these on a ps4 so I can't speak for them, but I even gave the spare set to my bro to use on his xbox and he liked them too.
