Well built and works great!
Great chalk box. Puts down a nice crisp line. Came fast and works great. I picked this chalk box up to add to my collection. I have the blue box for thin lines. And now the red box for a little thicker of a line.

Pure quality.
This is a joy to use, and I use it both on a construction site at work and at home, by myself. The attention to detail on this chalk box is superb, as it has a rubber hook which allows it to hug the spot you are trying to start with, allowing a good line if someone is popping a line by themselves. The lock feature is very neat. Tip, with Tajima boxes, try not to overfill the box, as it does not need much.

The best chalk line I've ever used
The best chalk line I've ever used. It winds up very quickly and I've never had it jam. I have two of them, one for blue and one for red. I've had the blue for a couple years and it has held up very well. I did replace the line with the one that comes with this line box, because it was too light for my taste. This one is the way to go!

The best snap line out there.
I'm not sure who Tajima is, but I think they are a Japanese company. I can tell you that they make excellent tools. This chalk box is the best one I have used in the 45 years I've been in the business. It's durable, fast to rewind, and easy to refill. Just make sure you pay attention to the line thickness. They make a thin line and a thick line. The thin is great for fine lines in the shop, but it breaks too easy when pulling a deck line of 50'. I just bought 2 more boxes. One blue and one red for that color chalk. I use Irwins chalk and have not had any problems. The thick line works best for rough framing. I'm in Pueblo Colorado and it is always windy here. This line works great in wind. You don't need to pull it up 2 feet, just a couple of inches and it snaps a perfect straight line. It is expensive but will out last any other box 3 to 1.

Love this snap line
Love this snap line, the crimson dye is very dark and easy to see on metal or concrete. Probably on wood too but since i don't work with wood i don't know.

Great chalk line
Great chalk line. I can't stand those box store chalk lines. I have this one for framing and the blue one for siding and trim work. It's compact, has the handy locking feature, and is quick to fill and to rewind. This is my second one. I finally broke the handle on my last one after about 4 years of use, but I put a bolt handle on it and still keep it in my backup tool bag. Can't say that I use it every day, but I've never had to replace the string. It's tough stuff.

So far I really like this chalk line
So far I really like this chalk line. String is not the cheesy cotton twine you see in many of the Box Store chalk lines. The winding mechanism feels solid and retracts fast. Just a suggestion: if you are planning on using this to pop long lines unwind the string completely and then add chalk. This will ensure all of the string is coated to begin with. If you have not already done so please use Amazon Smile as your default page for shopping here and I would greatly appreciate your designating Wheat Cutter Foundation as your charity. [...]

Best chalk line I've ever had and probably going to ...
Best chalk line I've ever had and probably going to be the best one you'll ever but too. The line itself is perfect for most applications. Snaps not too big and not too small. Only complaint is the s***ty hook clip on the end of the line is way too big. It stops the line from snapping on the last inch of the board.

Simply the best.
Over about 60 years this is the best chalk box I have owned. Period! Note - do not wash anything with the red dye on it with any other items. Otherwise everything in the washer will come out pink. (My wife made me add that.)

The best chalk line I've used
I love the quality of this chalk line, it's solid and it fits comfortably in my hand. The folding arm is nice too. It leaves a solid, clean, vibrant line when using Tajima's brand of fine chalk. The lock is a nice feature, holds the line in so it doesn't get tangled or leave chalk in your bags. One thing I've notice after 3 months of daily use that might be helpful to a new user: If I pull the line tight like with standard chalk lines, it leaves a line that isn't as clean or completely solid. If I just put a little tension on it and snap it about a couple inches off the surface, it leaves a super clean, solid line. Only thing I don't like is how much chalk it dumps out when pulling the line out. Maybe I overfilled it, but it's had 3 months of use and still dumps out a ton of chalk.
