I used paper and plastic medical tapes and the adhesive irritated my skin - using an acetone adhesive remover made the rash/itching worse. I was given a roll of this tape and gave it a try as a last resort. It sticks well and doesn't irritate my skin.....when it comes to changing a dressing, the adhesive comes off with a little work - hot water in the shower 'melts' the adhesive enough to be get it off. It is sticky and you need a little technique to pull off the piece you need, but being able to use a tape that won't irritate my skin is well worth the hassle.
Love this stuff. Recently had abdominal surgery and this is what the hospital used. Paper tape is horrible and I needed something that truly sticks. Does the trick every time. At the beginning of my recovery I would leave the tape on for four to five days at a time between dressing changes and it still worked just as well after days without being painful to pull off. Very soft too so you can’t even feel it, and it doesn’t slide around if you get hot. Will buy over and over again.
I was sent home after a surgery with this tape. When I was running out, we looked for this tape at local pharmacies and no one had it. I tried several other types of tape, but none adhered quite like this one. It did leave some residue after peeling off the tape to change my bandage, but it was easy to remove. I also noticed that my clothing stuck to the tape, but since I had some extra tape from the pharmacy that I couldn’t return, I put some on top so my shorts didn’t stick to the tape.
I got cancer. I started treatment and I was ok. 3 weeks into treatment, I couldn't eat any more. I was losing weight so fast that my doc scheduled me for a PEG tube. Being that it's temporary, the feeding tube is long. I use this tape to keep the tube against my belly when going out so it's not offensive to every one I meet. Easy on, easy off, easy tear, easy cut. I'll buy more of this stuff.
I had a surgery a number of years ago and was sent home with a wound vac machine. This is the tape the hospital and visiting nurse used on my abdomen. This is a wonderful product! It sticks and comes off without taking your skin with it. I just had hip surgery and ordered it for the daily dressing change. It is just the best product out there! I highly reccomend it, I have used it many times!
I have to perform wound care between my patient's glutes and this stuff has been the tape that sticks for the day. I tape over the splits to hold it together and it mostly works. Getting it off is the worst part. There is a decent amount of residue but it's better than the packing falling out of the wound.
My husband is currently using a feeding tube for nourishment and the area surrounding the tube insertion point needs to be redressed 2X daily. This tape is same as used in hospital. Easy to apply and remove and does not irritate skin.
I use it every day for my PD dialysis port and a medicine patch. I never get a rash and it doesn't hurt when i remove it. it stays on my belly really well but on my arm with all the movement and sometimes rubbing on my clothes it peels up on the edges a little after a couple of days. i change it about every 3 days and it holds up well.
This tape is awesome. Holds great, come off easy enough. Is perforated so you don't need scissors. I'm a patient not a nurse or dr, and I've been taped every which way with every type of tape. This is the only tape I'd spend my money on. Highly recommended
Better than waxing when it’s time to remove. Great for frat parties, the wife’s hairy legs when she’s sleeping and the occasional stab wound when she yanks her hair out
