I have gotten 5 of these. I put them on the dirt pathway in the yard, where everything turns to mud when the dog plays fetch in the constant rain all winter. There is a hill involved, which historically becomes very slippery. Now that problem is solved! The dog is a 60 pound border collie cross and does not mind the oddly textured footing at all, nor does a visiting 23 pound Sheltie. I actually put the mats upside down, because the underside has more rubber "fingers" which seem to do a GREAT job preventing slippage. A person on crutches walks safely on this path now all the time. (I think it's maybe a 20 or 30 degree slope.) Another upside: the fact that the mats have holes all the way through means they really settle well into the dirt and never shift, even with very high-speed dog traffic. They are also pretty heavy, which helps too. And, the dirt under them is just as wet as anywhere else in the yard, so they do not provide a dry place for the fieldmice to nest under (which happens if the rubber mat is solid). Not a cheap solution, but it really works. Note: the ghastly rubber smell was bad all summer, expecially when the sun hit them, but did not bother the dogs, and seems to be gone now. Also, there is no observable wear after several months of use-- and there's WAY less mud tracked onto the deck! Yay! I would buy these again. -----Five months later I returned to buy a couple more, but the price has gone up by about $20 each. They were doable at $32, but not $52, for me. Too bad, the ones I have are still working great. UPDATE August 2018-- The mats I have out in the dog yard are still in perfect shape. No deterioration. No discoloration. (The sun exposure is less than 4 hours a day, in the Puget Sound area--so, not very extreme.) No mice living under them! They don't shift around even on the hill, with dogs running over them. Still very pleased.

This has been great for my garage. I needed a rug so I wasn't standing in a puddle to load my kid in the carseat. The snow would melt off my car during the night and left a big puddle that i would have to stand in. This rug solved that problem. It's held up great, even with me driving over it with my car.

First I'm not using these in a kitchen. I'm using them as mats under our swingset. I wanted something soft for the kids' safety but mainly something to prevent the ruts and mud puddles that are so common under swings. We've had these for a few years and they've done the job perfectly. They've held up to the wear and tear of kids playing on them and lawn maintenance. The best part is the grass has filled in the holes and you can't even see the mats anymore. This is a wonderful solution for us.

Great price, especially considering I didn't have to lug it home. I bought the 3' x 5' and this thing is large and heavy! I can walk on it barefoot without a problem. It's not soft like carpet, but not difficult like hot coals either. I'm using it in the garage to prevent tracking in to the car and to keep my feet dry from the puddle that forms with melting snow/ice off the car. Will be easy to pick up to sweep dirt from the floor and hose off, if needed.

The people who previously owned my house put white tile in the kitchen. When I clean up or rinse dishes, water invariably spills out on the floor (they didn't size the sink to the fixture.) The floor would not only be wet and slippery, it would be filthy. This solves the water problem very well and keeps the mess contained so it is a lot easier to clean up. It is also comfortable to stand on though I admit I try to stand at the sink doing dishes as little as possible.

We have ordered several of these mats. They are terrific. One is under the steps of the hot tub - no slipping there!! One is one the back deck of our boat to place crab pots on when pulling them - no scratching on the boat!! We have them also on the deck of the boat where they stand when pulling the pots - again no slipping!! Easy to wash down and dry! Quality terrific!! I am sure we will be buying them again.

We're using this as a walkway mat to deal with snow on the porch. Works great. Easy to clean off and it's keeping our porch safe for visitors. Note that our porch never sees sun so I don't know how this will hold up to UV but it's great to keep the ice under control in the winter.

We use this by our hot tub. So when we get out we are not standing on cold concrete in our bare feet. With the large holes the waters drips into the holes as we towel off. The 3 ft. by 5 ft. size is perfect, and our feet stay warm.

We use these in the garage to keep the dirt/needles/dust from getting tracked into the house, and they serve the same purpose when camping: we drop these on top of the tarp just outside the trailer door and leave our shoes outside: these provide a great platform to walk on barefoot or with socks and not get dirty while you get your shoes on. Heavy duty and durable.

I bought this mat for a working mat for my lathe. It replaced a solid mat that was impossible to clean the metal shaving from. This mat is will made and easily cleaned. The metal shavings from the lathe pass through the round holes and is easily vacuumed up. It is a little stiffer than my old mat, but I did not notice any more fatigue from standing on it. I purchased the 3' by 5' which fit my work area well. I plan to purchase the 3' by 3' one for my work bench.
