I love this sprayer
I love this sprayer. I put up board and batten molding in our dining room about 6 feet up the wall and then thought I would be fancy and add cove molding inside all the boxes. I knew it was going to take at least 4 coats of paint (2 coats of primer and 2 coats of gloss) to get that smooth, glassy finish I wanted. I started painting with a brush.... OH MY WORD. It took forever because of the cove molding and all of the angles. I could not get the finish smooth without brush strokes. So I decided to look into a sprayer and boy am I glad I did. I did a lot of research before I purchased this sprayer. This included online reviews and YouTube videos. I looked at several different models and brands. This product seemed like the best fit for me. I needed something small and versatile so I took a chance and ordered it. This is my first paint sprayer as I WAS a firm believer in painting by hand. If you can't tell I am incredibly meticulous and picky. I am so GLAD I did. I was able to put on 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of high gloss paint in 3 days (Most of that time was just waiting for the paint to dry). Now here is the secret to getting a beautiful smooth finish and keeping your sprayer in tip top condition: -Make sure that you use the cup provided to thin your paint properly...this is very important. I used an old gallon tea pitcher to mix and thin my paint and then covered with plastic wrap to keep fresh for refilling the paint cup. -KEEP IT CLEAN- I would clean the entire machine thoroughly after each layer of paint and let dry while my paint was drying. You must not let the paint sit in the machine for longer than 30 if not in use. It will dry and clog the parts. I did not purchase the extra cleaning kit but you could if you wanted to. I just don't think it's necessary if your diligent. -It is better to do a few thin coats instead of 1 heavy coat. This sprayer has several different angles you can paint with and you can also adjust the flow rate. -As I painted a whole room I took my time to tarp, seal off and tape everything I did not want to get paint on. Funny story- I did not realize until I was done that my cat had gotten in the room and moved the tarp I placed under the dining room table so when I was cleaning up I freaked out because there was a patch of white paint about the size of an 8x10 picture on my hard wood floor. Needless to say I said a few bad words and then researched how to clean paint off of hard wood. But surprise the paint came off with ease. Just wiped right up. I'm guessing since the spray is so fine that it dried before it hit the floor and it was more like dust than paint. -Make sure you are in a ventilated area and WEAR A MASK. I didn't for the first coat and I my nose was blowing out high gloss white paint @#$#@ for 2 days. YUCK If your looking for a convenient paint sprayer for small projects this is the one you need. I have just purchased the Home right tent and I can't wait to start spraying everything. :)

Homeright Finish Max saved me thousands of dollars for my DIY remodel!
This little guy saved me thousands of dollars for my DIY remodel! This is based on quotes I received from local painters. After seeing it recommended by several DIY blogs, I was scared to use a sprayer and after watching youtube videos and seeing how easy it was to use, I took the plunge! It took some practice but it cut my time in half if not more. I used it for bifold closet doors, bedroom doors, kitchen cabinets, drawers, baseboards and trim, window trim. Yes, my whole carriage house was a honey oak dream! It's worth the price. Just make sure you keep it clean, I used Q-tips in between breaks every 10-15 minutes and wiped off the sprayer hole where the paint builds up and clogs. Trust me, if you don't keep the sprayer clean and wash and scrub it throughout the day, you won't get a good spray. It's also very important to do the paint test. You don't want it too thick. Check out before and after photos. Everything you see painted white, was oak and I used the sprayer and a roller on some.

Awesome product!!
This is my first time leaving a review for a product, but it was such a timesaver I needed to share. I never paint anything because of how tedious and time consuming it is, but this thing makes the paint come out so even and fast that I painted everything! I painted all my shutters and my door on my house in 2 hours. That was 4 coats of paint. I also painted a huge chicken coop and lost of different furniture pieces. Next goal is to stain the kitchen cabinets with this puppy. I love that it has the 3 settings for which direction you are going in and I really didn't think it was that time consuming to clean. 5 minutes maybe? Dump out paint and clean container, rinse parts in water, fill up w water and spray till it runs clear. It also uses less paint than you would use traditionally, but some things needed a 3rd/4th coat. After my very first paint job I could only get air to come out, which I've seen other people review about- I ended up calling the company and they told me that if when you are cleaning it underneath that white fitted piece that you remove you will see both the main spray jet and 2 vents on the side. Stick a pipe cleaner in there in case things got gunked up. The second time I couldn't get paint to spray (I've used this things 20+ times now) the lid wasn't on right. If it doesn't have a seal it won't pick up the paint. Awesome product!!

I am a decent carpenter though and I just built a really nice set of cabinets
I'm not a painter and this is the first time I've ever used a spray gun. I am a decent carpenter though and I just built a really nice set of cabinets. I'm pretty handy and don't intimidate easily so I was back and forth on hiring a painter or doing it myself. I looked at a lot of sprayers and several a lot more expensive than this one and after reading all the reviews I decided to give this one a try. I have zero experience with any other sprayer but I finished the cabinets last night and couldn't be more excited about it. I sprayed two coats of primer and 2 coats of a latex paint, sanded between coats and they all went down great and the finish is perfect! I don't like to do something myself unless I can do it damn near as good as someone I'd pay to do the job. When I was finished and it all dried I examined it and would have been happy if it was a job I had paid for. I don't have the pictures on my computer but I will try to add them to the review soon because I like when the review includes some pictures. What I didn't care for is masking off all the cabinets, floor, and ceiling....that job someone else can have! Update: I've seen several reviews where people didnt have problems until they went to use the sprayer a 2nd time. Its been a few weeks and it was time to paint the other half of my cabinets a different color and in the back of my mind I was worried that maybe the sprayer wouldnt perform as well. That was wasted worry because i was just as pleased this time as the first time. Ill attach a photo. Was two coats of tinted primer and one coat of paint and will add a 2nd coat soon. Update:12/29/18 Ive had this sprayer well over a year now. I recently pulled it out to paint a mantle project that I had a deadline for Christmas this year and It is still spraying like a champ! The mantle came out perfect! I even left the paint in the canister for the 4 days it took me to paint it (primer and then 1 coat a day for 4 days) because I was being lazy and it sprayed well each day after cleaning the dried paint off the tip of the nozzle. I still tell everyone to buy this sprayer!

Needs some tweaks but good for the price.
I was only a little worried about how cheap this is and some of the reviews had me worried too. After using this I've discovered that those bad reviews must be from people who did not read the directions. You have to read the directions. If the paint sputters you might have solid chucks of paint cause you didn't strain it or you might not have thinned the paint like the instructions tell you to do in step 1. That's why it comes with a viscosity tool. Read the directions and you will come to LOVE this sprayer as much as I do. It has saved me loads of time and paint already. I used 1.6 L of paint mixed with a small amount of water to paint the bottom part of my living room. And looking at it it doesn't even look like I need a second coat. The only regret I have is not buying this earlier. It will probably pay for itself in the amount of paint I save from using it. Update: I used this again and was having problems getting the reservoir tight enough not to leak. It would tighten to a point and then pop and be loose again. I fixed this issue by using the Seran wrap method. I just take a thin strip of seran wrap and wrap it around the threading of the bottle then screw it on and it's air tight. I can even leave paint in it over night then peel off the little bit of dried paint on the nozzle and get right back to spraying.

Excellent for a first-time paint spray user!
I previously ordered a more common/expensive brand of sprayer and returned it on a whim due to the good Homeright reviews. This item does not disappoint! This was my first time using a sprayer, so I don't have any other basis of comparison; HOWEVER, this sprayer made my bathroom vanity look like a professional job. Right out of the box, it was super easy to use. Pros: *Professional finish for a novice *Ease of use right out of the box *Lightweight and ergonomically superior to another brand I tried *Sprays more types of paint than similarly priced big box brand sprayers Cons: *Not a heavy duty sprayer (and it is not advertised to be), so thinning the paint to the right viscosity is a bit annoying *Uses way more paint than rolling *Does not come with a cap for paint reservoir making it annoying between coats Time-saving tip: 32 ounce paint sprayer liners are your friends! Paint cannot sit in sprayers long enough for a coat to dry and you can go for round 2. This means that it is best to clean out your sprayer between coats. At first I was thinking man, this is annoying. This raises a problem because as I mentioned 1) the sprayer paint cup doesn't have a cap to store your paint and 2) you need clean water in the spray cup to clear your gun. *How did I solve this problem? I lined my cup with paint liners and then in between coats, twisted the top, secured it with a tie and stuck it in a larger plastic bag (backup to prevent spills - learned the hard way with gray paint all over my kitchen counter). This meant that I could easily fill my spray cup with clean water (without having to buy an extra one) and clean my gun in no time. When it was time for another coat, I just popped the bag right back in and stirred the paint and got to work! I hope this helps someone!

Love, love, love!
I love this sprayer! I used it today to paint my kitchen cabinet doors. Everything came out so smooth. What would have probably taken me days, only took a few hours and that included drying time between coats. I also purchased the spray tent which was a great lifesaver since I wanted to do the job in the garage. I had an idea to put a quart size ziploc bag in the paint well and it made cleanup so easy. Everything still screwed on tight. The sprayer is a bit noisy so plan accordingly. It's pretty easy to clean considering how much time it just saved you. I highly recommend it to anyone who is painting their kitchen. I've done it by hand before and my only regret is that I didn't buy this sprayer sooner!

Great sprayer and a great price!
I bought this sprayer because I got tired of painting my interior doors. It was taking 2-3 hours to paint a single 6-panel door both sides, two coats. After two doors I ordered this sprayer to finish the remaining nine doors. I pulled two doors down to test with and set them outside, leaned against a stand in my grass on cardboard (in case of over spray) then commenced to paint my first two doors. Gun worked excellent, took about 3-4 minutes to paint one side and one coat was sufficient. I used the higher end Behr paint which is pretty thick so I thinned it just a bit. The sprayer came with a tool to test the thickness of the paint, I'd suggest using that if you are not familiar with spray guns and paint. Saves some headaches from paint not spraying right if you suspect you are using thicker paint. The doors were dry to touch inside of 10 minutes (weather was in the 70's, partly sunny outside) so I flipped the doors and finished them. Took about 45 minutes to do what otherwise would take 4-5 hours and that included drying time and taking them down plus re-installing them. My only criticisms would be that your project has to be fairly vertical. If you can move the item being painted then it's easy, but if it's immobile like a deck or stationary surface then you'll have trouble. This sprayer can only tilt 45% off of vertical, so a deck surface would be too far horizontal but the side of a deck would be easy. Second, it covers nicely in one coat and without streaks but it does spray a lot of paint to do so. It seems to go through about 15-20% more paint when compared to the same job with a brush, though it's well worth the trade considering the time it saves. Lastly the over spray was a little much, if you engage the trigger about half way and take your time painting, you get very little over spray. If you follow the instructions and adjust for full air flow, it will cover your project much quicker but create a decent amount of over spray, so be careful if there is a bit of wind. Clean up is a breeze. My previous sprayers cost twice as much and were a pain to clean, even easy to lose small parts. This sprayer is quick to take apart the nozzle and wash. Barely anything to clean up since I peeled the small paint film away from the nozzle while I was painting. It just took a moment to fill the tank with water and spray the water out the nozzle like it was paint, then remove the nozzle and clean it. Bonus: the instructions say to use it like an air gun to clean out keyboards and computer parts. I happen to be in IT so I do use it to clean out servers and desktops. It's mush easier than lugging around an air compressor and far more powerful than a can of air. Conclusion: If this was a $200 sprayer it would still be about 4 stars but since it's closer to $60 it's definitely 5 stars. It's a bit quieter than other sprayers I have used and even has advantages over sprayers I use on my air compressor since there is no noisy compressor and the air never runs out because it's on electric plus there is no moisture buildup to cause spitting. Even with several moisture traps on my air lines, my other sprayers have issues once the heats after long spray projects. This electric sprayer is a great value and has effortless performance!

I'm so happy I chose this sprayer for my cabinet doors
I'm so happy I chose this sprayer for my cabinet doors! They turned out flawlessly! My husband was skeptical about it at first, but he was pleasantly surprised at it's power when we first plugged it in. This was my first time using a paint sprayer, so it can be used as a novice. I just made sure to follow the directions closely- hold it at the appropriate angle, at the appropriate distance, thin the paint if needed (I used Benjamin Moore Advance and I'm super happy with this choice too!), put on multiple thin coats, and most important clean it after each use per the instructions to keep it working flawlessly. I also practiced on some cardboard before starting on the cabinets. One one of my coats, I noticed a few bubbles on the first door I sprayed. I realized I was a little too close, so I held the sprayer back a few inches on the next door and that corrected the problem. I did multiple coats front and back and let each dry 24 hours, so I need to clean it several times, and it worked great every time. I can't wait to use it to restore some furniture!
