Great gate, sturdy, works well for wider gap

We bought this to keep our small dog out of our son's play room, as she likes to go in and grab his small toys. We have a different type of gate, but it doesn't go wide enough to fit the space where it's needed. This one is plenty wide enough and we still have one extender that isn't being used. I thought I may have to use wood screws to mount the top nob-holders to the wall, as I did in the past for a similar gate, but I didn't. The tension it provides when adjusted is enough to hold it in place pretty well. I came across a few reviews that mention the doorway being too narrow, so I was a little worried about that, but it turns out that isn't the case. It's plenty wide enough for our use, but I could see some situations that make it more troublesome. For the door on it, we rarely lock it, because our 4-year old goes through regularly and it's just meant for the dog. It works just fine locked or unlocked, so no complaints there.

Regalo Brand is Reliable. Using as Dog Gate

I have another Regalo safety gate for the dog, which I bought on Woot.com deal. I didn't expect much of it, given it was a bargain deal on Woot. But actually it's the safest and sturdiest and nicest looking safety gate out of a lot of choices I looked at. I needed a wider suspension gate for a hallway, and after looking at various options in the 60-70" range, I decided to go with Regalo because of my positive experience with the other gate. We have been using this now for two solid months. We go in and out of the gate over 10 times a day. But the suspension hasn't needed to be tightened or adjusted (we always check just in case the dog decides to jump on it and push it down). And it also matches the decor of the neutral colored room. I'm very happy with this product, and would buy Regalo again.

Works great. It’s strong enough to keep my dogs out of areas I don’t want them to be in.

It was easy to set up, I have a wide hallway, and it does a great job keeping my dogs out of the space where I don’t want them to be. It’s a great product and so far it’s been really durable. I’ve even considered buying a second one. I recommend this product to anyone who needs a white gate. If it will hold back my two dogs it will probably hold your toddler back as well. Great from keeping the dogs in a chosen area of the house!

I purchased this gate to keep my two small dogs in the utility room while I am gone away from home. This gate is wonderful. The dividers are small enough that they can’t get their heads caught in them. I used to close the door but they didn’t like being closed in. They would jump on the door to be let out and it was starting to leave nail scratch marks in my door. They don’t put up a fuss when they have to be behind the gate. They like the fact that they can still look out at the rest of the house and not closed off from the activities going on. They watch TV through the gate while I am away and when I have company they don’t throw a fuss because they can see what is going on. The gate was easy to install and not hard to put up and down when I want to mop the edge of the floor where the gate sits above it. Also the latch doesn’t take a genius to open so when I want to let them back in the house to run I simply open it without a fuss. It also has an extra piece that came with it for wider door frames but I didn’t need to use this section. Very pleased with the quality.

The gate is supposed to not be latched unless it is installed people neglect to read. Here if you missed it read now! Works for what we need! Great gate.

Great gate

We have a wide door opening where we were intending to install this gate (46.5 inches), and I was sceptical about the stability. However, after the gate was installed and tightened, it is rock solid even when our athletic toddler sometimes tries to shake or pull it. I also used additional non-skid pads and I recommend getting them, as well as they increase the gate stability.

BEST GATE FOR SMALL DOGS

I needed a gate that my mother could walk thru while at my house dog sitting. I read many reviews so I knew what I was up against. Install was actually simple. The only issue I came across was having to push/pull the metal rod to fit in the hole on the extra extensions which I did with a flathead screwdriver. Adjusting the sides until the gate handle hits the right locked position was something A LOT OF PEOPLE OVERLOOKED in the instructions and therefore thought their product came broken. This was simple to complete and you have the option to just shut and latch the handle or shut, latch, and lock the handle. If I had a toddler I'd lock it, but since I use this for dogs I don't have to. The gate has remained sturdy after numerous walk thru's and little dogs leaning on it. Best part about it is that because of the vertical bars, my dogs no longer jump on/against the gate like they used to on my previous gate, which then banged against the wall and make a lot of noise. They've now become polite little dogs that just sit and wait, which is surprising for a hyper, jumping bean chihuahua!

Better than you think it will be

I was going to return this safety gate after I purchased it but after using it for awhile, I have changed my mind. If it is installed correctly, it is a really amazing gate. It keeps its place well and is easily opened and closed by adults and older kids (5 years and up). My 18 month old cannot get it open by himself and that was my goal. The opening can be too narrow at times when I have a lot of stuff to bring in or when I'm trying to be quiet but ultimately, it cannot be much bigger and still be a pressure mounted gate. You would need a gate mounted to the wall if you need something wider. I have 2 more gates in the house that are mounted to the wall and they are much wider, but I didn't want to screw into the wall where I have this gate installed so this was much more ideal. As for installation, I always read the instructions and if I am still confused I watch a youtube video. I thought the instructions were very straightforward and easy to follow. It can be deceiving that the gate does not appear to tighten upon initial installation but as you tighten the installation screws on either side (per the instructions), it all falls into place. I've moved this thing around to a few other locations in the house and it has worked out well. It was very convenient that there are so many different width adapter pieces so you can use it in different places or just make sure you have the right sizes for your single location. I'm glad I didn't return this gate like I initially planned to.

Survived 2 Years of use and abuse!

Lasted-Installed 2 years ago in entrance hallway by garage to pen destructive dog up when we are not home. This kept our beagle safe ( couldn’t jump over, or get open despit persistent chewing on bars. Tips -make sure to opt for screw in mount for secure installation. - watch you don’t trip on the bar when stepping through gate . This is what keeps the gate strongly installed but needs to be noted as a possible trip hazard. Would NOT use this gate at the top of steps. - very easy to open and close, but visitors needed demonstration. -narrowish passthrough opening. We are not small people and it works fine , but could be awkward for obese people. This gate was a thousand time better than portable adjustable baby gates we tried before.
