Good replacement blade for my 650series Troy Bilt mower

Item arrived on time. I purchased this blade to replace the original for the 650 series Troy Bilt mower I own. After a few years of sharpening, the steel just didn't have enough edge left. (That, and I accidentally mowed over a few stones ...) The quality of the steel seems comparable to the original blade and it has a very nice black coating on the blade. Hopefully this week improve its longevity. This product was made in the USA, which is kind of important to me. I hope this review helps you on your research!

Bags and bags full of grass

love having a sharp blade to wreak havoc on the weeds and crab grass i call a lawn, this beauty will tame the jungle that the moles and neighbor cats call home , put one of these on your mower , march up and down your yard (be sure to follow your wheel track) and once you're done you can even yell out "Woman! I need a cold beer" while your neighbors watch in awe and quiet envy.

Does the Job-Cuts Well-Durable

This is the second time I have replaced my lawn mower blade & it is never fun. Last time I had help but this time I did it solo. Getting the old blade off is a battle but I won using the usual weapons of a block of wood to keep the blade from turning, socket wrench & brute strength of a feminine nature. Putting the new blade on is just the reverse procedure. I am never sure of my ability to balance & torque the blade properly but I get the job done. The Maxpower cuts well on a variety of grass surfaces from tough dense clumps to long stemmed growth. I keep the mower height adjusted to low & take off a lot of grass when I cut the lawns. Plus the outback has various weeds mixed with the grass as with the water restrictions the weeds thrive while the grass struggles in spots so the weeds I don't pull by hand I mow down with gusto. The Maxpower blade cuts the tougher stuff in the back lot so I can't ask for more or complain. Nicely priced & speedy delivery are the icing on the cake.

High quality replacement blade that fits many mowers!

High quality, direct fit and replacement for my 21" MTD Lawnmower. It made a world of difference changing the mower blade. My lawn now looks great and maintained! This blade is comparable, if not better than the 'name brand' blades that are sold at the big box stores for nearly twice the price. High quality and Highly recommend!

For some reason it looked like the hole was going to be square instead of ...

I hit something last week with my push mower and bent my blade so I was in search of a new one. I looked around and this is one of the cheapest ones I could find that looked similar to the original blade that I've had on my MTD yardman mower for the past 10 years. My mower is a 21 inch cut self-propelled MTD yard man that mulches or bags and is fairly old. I wanted to make sure I got the correct blade for the bagging or mulching. For some reason it looked like the hole was going to be square instead of star shaped like my blade was but after reading reviews and looking at other blades I figured it would work anyway and I decided to give it a try. I was highly impressed when I received it and it was identicle to my original OEM blade. This installed onto my mower with no problems at all matched up perfectly and is super sharp. I would definitely recommend this blade to anyone that requires this type of blade.

Works Perfect!

Not sure what others are referring to when complaining about stickers and packaging. While you may have some residue after removing the labeling, it will be non existent after the first use. This matched perfectly to my original 21" blade on Troy Bilt TB130. My grass hadn't looked this nicely cut since my lawn mower was new 10 years ago.

Works on my Craftman mower!

Pros: + Works on my Craftsman 675 gold series 21 push mower + Does NOT need sharpening + Is properly balanced Cons: - Need to remove stickers, which are awful - Packaging is hard to open. This mower blade actually works on some Craftsman models, so take a look at your blade before purchase. If it looks the same, it probably fits your mower. (Mine is a Craftsman 675 gold series 21) One grievance: they use those horrible paper labels that are impossible to peel off without leaving a ton of residue behind. I had to use GooGone to clean the glue off so that the blade was balanced. Apart from the stickers, this blade is well balanced and cuts like a dream. It does NOT need sharpening. Lawnmower blades are not supposed to be razor sharp as they can get nicks very easily if they are. Without any modification, this blade cut incredibly well, it no missed blades of grass at all. For those who think it’s not cutting well: it’s upside down (or backwards, depending on how you look at it.)

Great Blade

EXCELLENT blade. Made a huge difference in my lawn. I was having problems with my bagger not filling before needing to be changed. This sucker cuts the grass up nice and made it so the bagger would fill completely. It also made my lawn look cooler. Dont know how, it just did.
