I am using the wire wheel to remove concrete from the aluminum deck on my concrete pump truck. I tried using scrapers but it was taking way too long. The wire is just course enough to remove the concrete without gouging the aluminum, it actually leaves a nice finished look that just needs to be hit with polish and a plastic wheel. The wire does hold up for about 10 minutes before it needs to be rotated the other direction which is not an inconvenience given the amount of concrete on the deck. I have yet to lose a bunch of wires.
This wheel seems really good at being rapid removal of paint and debris from the surface of metal. I also use the fine wheel, and there is a marked difference in how much they take off. For example, this coarse wheel took off the paint *and* left behind scratches on the paint on set of car wheels I was stripping but the fine wheel would only dull it. For my application, the coarse wheel was too aggressive and the fine wheel worked better. But they are both quality pieces, and have their own specific uses.

This wheel is great for cleaning up the area where the high temp cement is applied to hold the seal. I use it on my rechargeable 3/8 drill. It is a messy job best done in the shop or outside with a dust mask. safety glasses and gloves (whatever the manufacturer recommends). I am pretty sure it would work on other brands too.
Top notch! If you are looking for a tough, coarse wire wheel, this thing rocks! Grinding out the rust pits in a 50 yr old car body just won't work with normal wire wheels, this one does it..
I have a small tire/repair shop and I purchased this brush to mount in a cordless drill/driver to clean corrosion from aluminum wheels before mounting new tires. It's is the perfect size and does a great job with the task. I will be reordering this brush.
Rips off paint like nobody's business! Used it for removing rust off cold mild steel prior to painting too. Holds up well. Gonna have another on standby but from what little I've seen this one wear I won't need it for a while.
