this is thing is at best 5/16" maybe

My grinder uses a 1/2" axel so I needed to use the plastic ring to make it fit (otherwise the arbor size is 5/8"). The wheel was too thin (the grinder wheel I removed was 1/2" thick, this is thing is at best 5/16" maybe? So I had to add some washes to keep it centered and be able to tighten the wheel in place. I was worried that given the extra space inside the wheel case the wires would spread out, but they didn't, they held their shape pretty well, which is really good as it does not scratches the inside of my wheel case. I was worried that would put extra stress on the motor. I used it for about 20 minutes today and had no problems. Even after some use removing rust from some tools it kept its shape pretty well. Make sure you use the right arbor size or you would get a hell of a lot of vibration I would expect. All and all for the price, great product, the Dewalt brush wheels do look to be better quality but I can buy 3 of these for the price of one Dewalt...hence the 5 star rating.

Did not fit my harbor freight 6 inch bench grinder.

Did not fit my harbor freight 6 inch bench grinder. The inner part of wire grinder fits the bolt but was to thin for the grinder washer and retaining nut. I will ahave to fix by buying more washers to put on. Other than that not bad for 6 bucks

Great wire wheel

Gave up on the out of balance HF wire wheels. This one is great, absolutely balanced, runs smooth. No vibration whatsoever. Well pleased!!!

Great wheel for my benchgrinder

I needed a brush to clean up some of the tools in the shop that had surface rust, this wheel is not hard, so it doesn't damage the tools. My only issue was the wheel is a bit narrow for the grinder so I had to add a couple of washers to keep it in place.

A Soft Wire Wheel

Just what I was looking for, a soft wire wheel for more delicate projects. This wheel has been in service for 3 weeks and doesn't show signs of giving up any time soon. Recommend.

Converted Bench Grinder to wire wheeler with these

Like headline states, I used these to convert a grinder to a wire wheel. I don't recommend this as I don't know all the risks, other than I checked the RPM rating. But in my application they worked well and do not seem to shed the wires when in use;

High quality, good value

I bought this to clean up old antique butcher knives and it’s working very well removing rust but soft enough to not damage any of the blades.

Forney wire wheels are great.

Even though this wire wheel is made in China, it seems to be a better made product compared to cheaper no name products.

Needed a 6 Inch fine gauge wire brush wheel

Needed a 6 Inch fine gauge wire brush wheel for cleaning rust off . works great. holds up okay . not to many wires thrown out while in use. Thanks Amazon
