Can I just say, DO YOU REALIZE WHAT A DEAL THIS IS?! The most comparable price I could find at a local hardware store was still well above $100, for less material. If you have Prime, with a little time in advance, you can have this delivered to your door in time for your project! We bought this to hang our outdoor lights from Costco. Per someone's review, we used these and they fit perfectly. The only struggles we came across was finding a tool to cut this galvanized steel wire. What we ended up doing was purchasing a multi-purpose bolt cutter to cut the wire, and using the hinges in between to "crimp" the ferrules! Works perfectly, and we didn't waste money on a single-purpose-tool! If your plan is to hang lights, you will also need to buy hooks, 3/16" thimbles, ferrules, spring clips, and turnbuckles too. This might sound common sense for some, maybe not for others--complete installation BEFORE putting your lightbulbs on! Oh, and this can easily be a 2-person job, efficiently. :) Best of luck!

Bought to use as washline. I did not believe another reviewer that stated he could not cut it, as I have several different sizes of wire cutter. Well guess what, I couldn't cut it. Either take a sharp metal chisel and hit it with a hammer or use a portable grinder with a cutting wheel. This stuff is tough and I think my wooden poles will rot before this breaks. Awesome product, 50 times better than you would find at the big box home improvement stores.

We bought this for our clothes line and are very happy! We have previously used the green coated clothes line but after a couple of years, it breaks down and is very thin. This product is heavy duty. You can install it and it remains stiffly taunt. The clothes pins hold very nicely due to the thickness of the wire and the coating is very tough. We don't expect to need to replace it for many years.

I bought these to put up commercial grade patio string lights across my back yard. When I was ordering this wire, I wasn't sure if 1/8 inch wire would be strong enough. But upon seeing the wire, I think I could've used 1/16 inch wire and not have had any issues as far as being strong enough to hold up the weight of commercial grade lights. I have four strands of lights going across my yard, two about 40 feet long, the other two about 70 feet long. There was enough length in this spool to span the distance with cable left over. The wire is sufficiently strong with minimal sag and swaying even with the heavy commercial grade lights hanging on them. Really helped make the installation look professional. The vinyl coating over the galvanized wire is a nice guarantee that the wire should last a long time without rusting. I'm guessing that the zip ties will likely go before the wire does. That being said, make sure to find and use UV resistant weatherproof zip ties. The vinyl coating can be stripped off easy enough at the ends for securing the wire with the wire rope clips or ferrules. The wire also has no memory effect and straightened out without any fuss. There was no issues with the wire staying in loops or curling around while trying to work with it. I couldn't be happier with this wire. Also, much cheaper than what I could find at the local hardware stores.

I have no idea how we're able to get this cable for such a reasonable price on Amazon. The brick and mortar hardware stores sell this thickness of vinyl coated cable at the same price...but for only 100 feet! So you literally get 2 1/2 times as much for the same price. I only needed 100 feet so now I have more left over than the entire length I initially set out to buy....and I paid the same price. I can't comment on the supposed 1700 pound strength as I used them to string some outdoor patio lights. If you're buying them for this purpose, I would say they're highly recommended. You could definitely go a little thinner too if you find a thinner cable for less money but this one looks just fine. I selected this thickness as for some reason, it cost a little bit less than the 3/32" one.

This is wonderful wire rope. We put up 4 lines, a little less than 25 feet a line. So, we have some left over. We bought all of the hardware (inexpensive) the goes with the line and since the T -poles were already there and poles cemented in ground, it only took us less than an hour to take old line off and put the new hardware and line up. It is nice to have 2 people working together, but it is possible for one person to do it. I know it sounds crazy, but I love clothes that HAVE BEEN outside with the sun and breeze/fresh air, maybe with the exception of towels (they are a little crisp - LOL). I am old fashioned, I guess. Brings back memories or hanging clothes out. Older days, we had a pulley and rolled the clothes out on the line using a pulley. Also, how can anyone do without a clothesline if you have a project you are working on. You can spray your leather protector and be outside on your new pair of shoes, pocket book, wallet, etc. An old rug that needs to be hang dried. I LOVE HAVINH A CLOTHES LINE and now I have a new one; just seed to pain the aluminum poles when time.

Great product and 50 - 70% better price than local store! Purchased to quickly install dog runs as solution for large yard without fences. Also used to suspend shade sails, privacy screens and decorative lights. Next will be some support structures for landscaping with vines. Will definitely buy more when I run out. Tip - buy a criminal tool and ends for fixed length sections. For adjustable ends definitely go with stainless steel and eliminate cursing rusted threads down the road. I also used some of the ends typical in sail rigging (remove the coating first) - awesome finished look for where it mattered.

Works great for duck decoy line. I have used this for "Texas Rigged Duck Decoys". Use 3/16" (outside diameter of the cable) aluminum crimps to attach the 4oz weight at one end of a 4 ft (or whatever length works for you) cut cable and a loose 4/0 fishing snap & swivel on the line and a loop at the other end. Attach the duck decoy keel to the 4/0 snap swivel. The decoy will slide up and down the line. The decoy line will not tangle and is easy to use. Use a carabiner to attach a dozen decoys through the loop at the opposite end from the weight. This cable is a little more expensive than plastic decoy line but it will last forever. The decoys can be easily replaced on the snap swivel.

This worked perfect for hanging outdoor lighting over spans up to 50'. I'm sure it could be longer, but that's all I needed. It was remarkably less expensive to purchase it here rather than a brick and mortar store. And I have leftovers for later projects or friends who need it. Be sure to strip the coating off at your loops and connections.
