Great Product!

It's bad when you run out of ink and order more and when it arrives, it turns out you ordered the wrong one. Yeah I ordered black and needed color. So now I have enough black and my color is installed and I am back to printing. It is easier for me to order from Amazon because I don't live out in the country. So a trip to town is not something I would do just for ink. And when you figure in gas and fighting traffic, Amazon is a better deal for me. HP is a product I trust and have used it for many years. I will be buy this product again.

What's not to like??

I bought these ribbons for my HP ink jet printer. They function as ribbons. So that's not very exciting. What I do like has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with practicality. Both cartridges, coloured and black are numbered 61. I remember years of standing in stores and trying to remember the numbers of the two cartridges in a Lexmark printer. Finally, I had to put them in a note book I carry in my purse, since the numbers weren't even similar. Having one number makes sense and I'm grateful to HP for having that. Sometimes, the simplest innovations are the best.

Works with Envy 4500 (despite Amazon saying it doesn't)

This is replacement ink for HP printers including the Envy 4500. Amazon has a neat printer tool that matches a printer you bought on Amazon to the ink you are looking at. It says the 61 black cartridge and the 61 tri-color cartridge are compatible, but this box isn't. This box is literally those two combined, and I can verify it works perfectly/the box even says "Envy 4500". Just for those who need to replace both cartridges and end up here to see a big red "No" from Amazon, consider this my big green "Yes".

Works great in my HP Envy 5530. I read many of the reviews about how this combo pack (black & tri-color) didn't work in some printers. Then when I entered my printer's model number into amazon, it told me that it wasn't compatable with my printer. I thought it was weird, because I thought all "61" ink should work in all printers that take "61" ink. I decided to take my chances and purchase this HP 61 ink set anyways and I am glad I did. It works perfectly in my printer. When I received the ink, I checked the side of the box and my printer was listed. Documents retain black text and color quality for decades without fading.

What can I say . . . I have been a lifetime HP loyal customer. Until a week ago, i was printing on my old inkjet printer. The colors are accurate and brilliant. This old printer broke down from wear and tear. The printer was more than 10 years old. I purchased the HP 4630 and as usual HP ink holds true to its superb technology. Keep in mind there are two cartridges. One cartridge combines the color ink. The other contains the black ink. I prefer the mixed tricolor cartridges because in the long run it truly comes out less expensive. An original HP Cartridge Yield (approx) per cartridge: ~190 pages black, ~165 pages tri-color. It's equally excellent for ink-jet or laser printers. Getting into fancier split color cartridges is VERY costly. Unless you're a photographer, I feel that one tricolor carried is all that is needed.

Quality you can trust....

We have a fairly nice printer, but we only keep black ink in it to save money. We only print documents and coupons with it. But I found this color and black pack cheaper than I can buy one black cartridge! I was going to have to buy a color one soon for projects we are working on. I know I can trust these cartridges as I have been buying them for our printer since 2008. I have printed pictures and many other multi colored documents with this ink. And sometimes the ink sits for months before we use it and I have never had any complaints about it. I know there are recycled inks, but I am afraid of the quality and would rather be able to trust the ink than save more money. I only use the color ink for very important things - so it needs to reliable. I am also happy to have saved the money this time!!!

Repeat Buyer! Tried and Trusted! Love These AND the XL Version!

Repeat Buyer! I go back and forth between these HP 61 Original Ink Cartridges and the XL version. They are easy and convenient. They don't smear like some of those "other" cartridges can do. I know many will say they save money by refilling their cartridges, but no thank you. My brother did that with my mother and totally ruined her printer. We stick with HP Printers and Ink because they have earned our trust for quality! I have tried other brands, but wow...they just suck the life out of ink cartridges! Very pleased here!

I love everything about this ink except the price

I love everything about this ink except the price. It's easy to re-order and I know I'm getting quality ink. Before the printer I have now, I had a Brothers printer and it worked great for about 6 or 7 years. Then, one day, I dumbly decided to go with a generic brand of ink tank from some unknown company. HA! I'll never do that again. My printer quit working almost immediately and the problem came from the ink I was using. Therefore, I'm going to continue to purchase HP ink and, in the long run, save money by giving my printer a longer life. Good ink! Highly recommend.

A lot of ink for a little money, comparatively speaking

With the amount that we print, usually on ink saver mode, and often in B&W, it usually takes us a year to go through a 2-pack of cartridges for our printer, with one being color and one being black. I'm glad we switched to HP from our previous Epson all-in-one, as we used to burn through ink with the Epson like nobody's business, without printing photos on photo paper or anything like that - mostly documents or knitting patterns or D&D character sheets and so on. The only time we burn through ink is when we haven't printed for a while and have to go through all the cleaning steps and everything. The 2-pack is a bargain though, for printers that take HP 61, when some other printer inks cost $30 for just one cartridge and don't last even half as long.
