Pocket knife with wire strippers.
I only disliked the image of the 110v outlet etched into the blade. Other than that the knife is very practicle for me. I work on Armament, Avionics and Electrical systems on helicopters and if I need to strip a wire it’s a long walk down the flightline to grab wire strippers. The knife quality is also what you would expect from SOG. The clip on the back is also very secure/snug I’m not at all worried about it falling out of my pocket.

Best pocket knife I've ever owned
Best pocket knife I've ever owned. Wire strippers are true all the way down to 22AWG, and the spring-loaded jacket stripper has saved the day on numerous occasions. The other jacket strippers in the inside of the handle are kind of redundant, but might come in handy some day if I ever wear out the rear razor blade. Comes preposterously sharp from the factory and takes an edge well from any kind of sharpening device.

Great tool for light wire stripping work
Solidly built. Nice features which make it very convenient to carry when doing LIGHT electrical work. Like many multifunctional tools, it’s not built for heavy duty daily or continuous commercial use. Buy dedicated stripper tools for that. This tool is all about convenience and flexibility. Use as intended, and it will last many years just fine. As an example, I recently had to crawl into a very hot/tight attic with virtually no overhead space and only rafters for support. The job involved repairing a wiring issue with a garage lighting fixture. With nothing more than the SOG electrician's knife, a short section of ROMEX, some wire nuts, and a AC detector, I was able to get the issue fixed. Except for the ROMEX, everything else was carried in my shirt/pants pockets. The SOG knife definitely made the job more convenient by replacing both a separate wire stripper and utility knife which is what this tool is all about.

A useful pocket knife for the electrical tinkerer
I am an electrical engineer, and after work I like to tinker with things. I have a full set of (very nice) tools, but when I am just tinkering with a random personal project, I don't want to walk all the way over to the toolbox to grab the fancy wire strippers. So, I will whip this knife out and use it instead. The strippers built into this knife work remarkably well, even on very small gauge wire. However, the most impressive part is the cable jacket stripper. It is a little awkward, but once you figure out the correct way to rotate the cable, you can cut the jacket off cleanly and reliably, without nicking the inner conductors. I actually liked the cable jacket stripper so much, I used this knife to strip the Cat6A cables I put in my house. I did 29 runs, which means 58 cable jackets stripped. Never had a problem, and the stripper blade is still sharp. The main blade holds an edge well. I use it for mainly mundane things (opening boxes, letters, and cutting the occasional wire). I have only sharpened it once since I have got it (almost 2 years ago). I carry this knife all day, every day, and have only run into one annoyance: the belt/pocket clip gets weak, and starts bending out. When this happens, the knife will catch on things as you walk by, and start falling out of your pocket. You can remove the hinge and re-bend it, and it will be fine for another 6 months, so not a huge deal breaker, but still somewhat annoying.

Get this great tool!
Great design! Very SHARP blade! Well engineered item. Will prove to be the best designed knife I have used as an Electricians Apprentice I am POSITIVE. Three other knives have shown flaws in design or edge retention and have been relegated to the tool box for other forms of slicing and cutting. AUS-8 steel (57-58 hardness) should hold a decent edge for quite some time, and be fairly easy to resharpen when required. Balance is good, and strippers and cutters everywhere makes it a practical tool of this trade. The blade sharpness will remove the hair from your arm easily. That is sharp enough for my needs! Two improvements to this desing would be a spring assist opening set-up, and the pocket clip has sharp pointed edges that catch on material and skin to the point of it being troublesome. Still I would recommend it to anyone needing a good, sharp, lightweight middle sized pocket clip knife! Get one today, for as we know good products are too often relegated to the trash bin so as to draw buyers due the "new and improved" notifications we in America are gullible to. I expect a long life and good service from this great little $40.00 investment!

Well made
As a rule I avoid a knife that is vague on what steel they use in the blade. This knife takes an edge and holds it fairly well. even the wire strippers work though I wouldn't recommend them for daily use as an electrician. Wire strippers are a nice addition to your EDC as you never know when you might need them.

Good knife for an electrician.
I’ve been an electrician for almost 20 years now, never carried a pocket knife till about a year ago, bought an SOG flash 2, used it to cut sheathing on Romex among other things. So I decided to buy this knife being sometime I just don’t have my strippers on me and this looked like it would fit, It did, used it the day after I got it to get the jacket off Cat-6, anyway it’s sturdy, has a finger place so you can put pressure to cut jackets, I thinks it’s a fine knife for an electrician.

great tool for everyday use
As a FYI - I am PICKY about giving 5 stars! This is my first knife from S.O.G and and i am very happy with the buy! When ordering it I first was suspicious of the plastic handles, (I recently bought a black Victorinox Swiss Army Knife and was not happy with the scratched covers) but once I had it in my hands it proofed to be no concern at all. They are matte black with micro-structure - just as i hoped it would be :) On a weekly basis I am frequently using the knife and the extra wire stripping features, so far I have to say that the blades are holding up very well and stripping is no problem. The build is very sturdy and robust. All visible screws are T6-Torx and serviceable. The 3x screws used to tighten the rotary points (of the blade, the 10-22 gauge wire-stripper and the general wire-stripper blade) are a bit loose and might need attention over the time of use (months to years?) to not get lost. I unscrewed the one screw at the blade-knob and found they have some kind of lock-tite to prevent lost screws - so i guess it will last a while before i have to re-tighten. I assume that extends to all screws used. The main blade-lock has 2x small Philips-head screws (barely visible when looking into the "blade-canal") and also holds the retention spring of the stripper-blade cover. The main-blade seem to have 2 Teflon washers for smooth operation. The clip is functional, though i think the design is a bit off. I would have better liked to have circular holes as a pattern, but that is just based on visual detailing. This design might be lighter & sturdier than what i have in mind... One more thing: it seem to only work as a right-hand (RH) version. I could see it be changed to a LH-version by switching the blade-knob to the other side, but the clip can not be moved to the other side (a small cutout is missing) and the gauge annotations are only on one side of the knife. This knife is a great tool - i have it on me every day. Hope this review helps?!

You cant go wrong with SOG'S products!
Another great purchase, SOG in my opinion is way ahead with there engineering then most other manufacturers, and this knife is one of those! I was a refrigeration technitian for many years (retired now) I just wish that I had one of these when I was still working in the field. However I still love to get my hands dirty when ever I can and always carry my SOG S66L multi-tool and this knife. Wouldn't be with out them! I'm now hoping there engineering department can develop a leather sheath that will accommodate both products, so I'm not having to wear to leather sheath's. I also didn't realize it until I looked at the packaging and discovered that SOG is manufactured locally, in lynnwood Washington, about 25 miles north from where I'm at in Seattle. I think my next purchase will be the SOG Seal Pup… from what I've seen there craftsmanship is superior from other manufacturers.
