Air leaking through plugs
I noticed the other day when I flipped on a switch on my back patio a pretty steady amount of cold air coming from somewhere near the door. I put a lighter up to the patio door but when I realized the door wasn't the issue but my light switch was. These insulation pieces were just what I needed to stop the air and it only took a few minutes per switch or plug. They had already cut out the different types of switches or wall plugs so installation was a snap. Need to order some for the double switches as well.

Much easier than cutting by hand
During a remodel several outlets were moved or installed so that there were gaps between the cover and the wall. These seal the gap. Only needed a few but this was an add-on, so also decided to install them under some ceramic light switch covers that didn't seal as well as plastic one, and some outlets on outside walls for a bit of extra insulation from cold. It's a good die-cut, pieces pop out easily and the foam is good quality = doesn't tear or shred easily.

Stop the cold winter drafts
Something you don't think of, is the drafts that can come out of your electrical sockets on the outside walls due to the cold air on the other side. I have been going around pulling plates off and installing the 'socket sealers' - you can actually feel drafts on some that I had foamed in the past - this should draft proof all the outlets and make the house keeping in the heat more efficient.

Seriously works well all year, saves money
These sealers insulate so well. We could feel a cold draft through our house last winter until I narrowed down the source to the sockets. Now we're draft-free and warm. Saves on the energy bill, too. One year later, and we can really tell a difference year-round. Apparently the house's insulation didn't cover the sockets, but these sealers did. Besides staying cooler last summer, the house heats up more quickly, stays much warmer, and is less expensive to heat this winter, and these sealers are the only change we've made. Everyone should install these! Update to reviews: I read reviews that said these are too small. I live in an old home in which insulation was added later, and some of the sockets were in a bigger hole. I just cut some other covers to get strips, used masking tape to add the strips to the outside of the precuts, and it solves the problem of the insulators being too small. I also read reviews about only covering the outside walls' sockets. I covered the inside walls' sockets, too, because we were getting as much cold air through those as the outside walls' sockets. These really do work.

Cuts cold air entering your home
Used seal sockets on outside walls of a mobile home. Works well and prevents drafts. Temperatures measured at the socket before and after show a real difference. Used it with child prevention covers.. Probably not a great energy saving but I’ve found many cold spot in my house and hope that sealing all of them will help.

These really make a big difference!
I'm always looking for little ways to reduce drafts and save energy around my condo. I saw these mentioned somewhere online, and honestly I wasn't sure they'd make much of a difference. But I have a ridiculously large number of electrical outlets and figured it was worth a few bucks to give these a try. Wow! I'm really impressed! These were incredibly easy to install on the outlets, and since I have the larger paddle style light switches, I just cut bigger openings into the ones for the light switches. Took maybe 30 minutes to do 15 outlets and a couple sets of switches, and I can totally tell the difference already. It's noticably less drafty, and I think it's also dampened a little of the outside noise. I highly recommend these!

Amazing
I received these on Friday ( 01/25/2019 ) and all I can say is , these are amazing !! I immediately installed these after receiving them on Friday and , I could literally feel the difference in my house , no more draft's at floor level , before these I had to keep socks on , just so they would stay warm , and I have carpets !! I highly recommend these for anybody wanting to save money on their Heating/Cooling bills !! Thank You So Very Much , I Am One Satisfied Customer !!!

Can't taste purple but great product
Socket sealer. Say it with me. Socket sealer. Alliteration can be so much fun. Okay, now with that out of our system, down to brass tacks. I love these. They're cheap and easy to install. They block the draft that is sure to come out of an electrical outlet or a light switch. I've used these in apartments and in houses. They work both ways. Just unscrew the plate, slap one of these bad boys in, and screw the plate back in. Just be sure to not touch metal to metal or skin to metal. It's a good idea to flip the breaker to deactivate the outlets you're installing these on. Otherwise you'll give yourself a nice jolt. Or three. You know how everyone tells you not to stick a fork into an outlet? Same principle applies here except your finger is the fork and you can't taste purple for a while. So do yourself the favor of flipping the breaker before installing these. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Once. Or maybe three times. I can't remember too good now.

Easy to install
I've been installing these a few rooms at a time . I put my hand over the outlet before installed and after and could notice the difference . Really didn't realize how much cold airs come from electrical boxes , which makes sense if you think about it . Going to eventually buy more and install these at my relatives house as well !

For the price it’s well worth it.
I was surprised at how much cold air was entering my rooms when I pulled off some cover plates because the outlets felt cold to me. I pulled off a few and there was actually a small breeze that could be felt in an addition I recently built that had adequate insulation, house wrap and vinyl siding. I guess I was not cautions enough when wrapping and or cutting the insulation to go around my roughed in boxes. I purchased another kit and put these around everything that’s on an outside wall because they’re cheaper than heating the cold air that was leaking into the rooms. We get a lot of strong winds here so there’s noting I can do to the outside so this small step was a no-brainer. If you’re electrical boxes are hacked in with a lot of open space around them… like some of mine in the older parts of the house… some self adhesive window flashing will cover the gaps and it’s easy to cut it to fit. I may have to invest in a leak detector because I know there’s more cold air getting in than what I’ve found so far.
