Since originally buying one at TJ Maxx, I wanted to have one more on hand and ordered it on Amazon. I LOVE this sandwich knife. This has got to be the best size and feel of any spreader / knife I have used. Far better than a regular knife at scooping PB&J, or mayo... carries much more, and can spread across the bread slice much quicker and more effectively than a standard knife, or a tiny butter spreader. Very useful, wonderful size.

I've been using sandwich spreaders since 1987, starting with commercial grade. This knife is a steal at this price and this quality. I only can add that I would like to see some other primary colors used for the handle, specifically cherry red or deep red, to match my Zyliss peeler and Le Creuset wood handle kitchen implements with red silicone. There are only so many colors one wants to display in a kitchen and I already have the usual black and chrome with fridge and dishwasher, bamboo on some other items, and now the red, which may be the last color I can add. Great, great sandwich knife. BTW the soft skin peeler is beyond good. One pass over each section of a fresh pear and you've got the skin off with no unwanted pear being lost. It's like passing a knife over soft butter, it works so well.

Fantastic! So, it's a little knife and it's 4.99, this thing isn't life changing. But, it is hefty and extremely solid for the price. It fits comfortably in my hand and the cutting side is just sharp enough to get through a sandwich without my worrying that my kids will lop off a finger in the process. Let's be clear, you could cut yourself, but it is primarily made for spreading and the serrated cutting side will get you through some bread and deli meat but that's where it ends (and that's where I want it to end). The spatula is just right for everything from mayo to peanut butter - wide enough to scoop up and spread a reasonable dollop, narrow enough to fit in the jar easily. My mother always had spreaders in the house. I made due with table knives and had purchased this as part of a gag gift to put in a Fluffernutter kit I was making for my daughter for Christmas since we normally don't keep fluff in the house. Now, I'm going to buy another one as this one makes it into every dishwasher rotation. I feel like I got far more than anticipated for $5.

This spreader is terrrific. When you need something stronger than a rubber spatula, this is the tool for you. We use it mostlhy for peatnut butter that has been in the refrigerator but it works so well when making sandwiches, spreading cream cheese on bagels, and even frosting a cake.

I would not make peanut butter sandwiches again if it wasn't for this knife. It spreads the peanut butter more precise than any butter knife can and makes it last longer as a result. This knife also looks amazing in design and is very comfortable to handle.

Thought the handle a bit weird and ungainly but I enjoy the blade and the way it cuts through butter, no pun intended, it also does remarkably well no matter the butter consistency. Bread is a never mind cause to cold of butter still ruffles a beard's feathers.

Wow, this is one of those handy little kitchen tools you'll wonder how you ever lived without! Speeds up sandwich prep time considerably, especially if you've got kids who just have to have the crusts cut off their sandwiches. It gets daily use around here, and barely makes it into the dishwasher before someone's looking for it. The ergonomic design feels good in the hand and really spreads PB & J evenly, as well as helping to get the last bit out of the jar.

I purchased 3 different "Spreaders" for this, my review. These included the above pictured "Zyliss Sandwich Knife", the " OXO Good Grips Stainless 23181 Spreader", and the "Montana knife 7326 Spreader". The wife, children and I, all have been using these 3 spreaders for over 9 months! I now come to the following observations concerning these spreaders: In my opinion, the best spreader, & best value of the 3, is the "Zyliss Sandwich knife". I come to this conclusion because of the following: The "Montana knife" is outright out of contention, because of its short length: at 7.5 inches, it is obviously shorter than the Zyliss' 9.0 inch length, and the "Good Grips' 8.8 inch length. The spreader's length becomes important when removing jellies or other food material from glass jars, or from cans: (Which you Will want to do at some future time!). The "Good Grips" spreader comes in a very close second to the Zyliss product because the "Good Grips" product has twelve 1/4 inch deep "Grooves" at its handle - which prove problematic to easily clean out, should peanut butter, or jellies, etc., get into the narrow grooves. Lastly, the property of the Zyliss Sandwich Knife which we all find advantageous surprised us!...The yellow / orange handle is not only easy to clean, but is also easy to pick-out of a drawer full of eating utensils! - This last property: the bright color of the handle cinches for us, the "Best of the three", and I'm about to order 5 more of them, for our family's use! (I hold no interest, financial or otherwise, in the Zyliss product or Company.) Richard E Tracy, MD

BEST SANDWICH KNIFE EVER. PERFECT FOR SPREADING MAYO OR PEANUT BUTTER, JELLY OR CREAM CHEESE ON A BAGEL. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS LITTLE KITCHEN TOOL AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANY KITCHEN.

I just adore this spreader! Fits the hand so nicely. Spreads and cuts wonderfully. Could not be happier and intend to purchase several more as gifts. I'm already a huge fan of Zyliss products, even though they discontinued making my favorite corkscrew. Delighted though, that the one made by "Cuisinox" (and available on Amazon!) is a perfect match to the previously available one made by "Zyliss".
