I started making handbags a few years ago, starting with canvas and moving to vinyl and faux leather. I had always wondered what purse makers used to coat the edges of handles, etc. Well, this is it! It works very well..I needed about 3 coats to get the look I want. But a little goes a long way and I haven't had to reorder yet, despite having this bottle for over a year. Very pleased.

I was a little hesitant at first to apply this to the edges my LV phone case, but after bringing my case back and getting it replaced for a new case and having it crack again around the edge after a few months, I turned to this product. To my surprise, it worked perfectly to seal the edge. Not only did it match perfectly and no one can tell that it's apppied, but it's easy to use and it lasts! I've used it to do touch up on purse handles, my husbands belts (that he won't part with) and the list goes on and on. I suggest applying with a thin artists brush or a Q-tip. I have used both methods, and personally the Q-tip seemed easier as the product was applied move evenly. Apply a thin layer, let dry (it dries in minutes), and re-apply if a thicker coat is desirable. I highly recommend this product for any leather seal touch up!

LOVE! I bought to repair old Louis Vuitton wallets and handbags that I sell in my boutique and this stuff is amazing! Very easy to work worth and the brown color matches LV perfectly. I wish they had it in Red!

Great for repairing the cracked edges on your expensive handbag and making them look brand new again! Make sure to properly protect your work surface, and if you need step-by-step instructions Google the Tandy Leather YouTube videos or how to repair handbag straps. After sanding the cracked edges of my straps it took a LOT of thin coats to achieve a professional looking edge coat. I applied the product with q-tips; make sure you've got a box of q-tips because you will need to change them often to keep the application neat. Also, the first few coats are the most difficult and time-consuming, after you get a sort of "base" layer of product then the rest of the coats are easier to apply. I kept applying coats until I achieved the original shine and coverage level my handbag had when it was new--this took probably 35 coats! I didn't count, but worked on this as I had time for two weeks. It helps to have a steady hand and paper towels to quickly wipe away any product that smears to another portion of the leather (once the product dries it's permanent). As a further tip: had one spill issue early in the process and rubbing alcohol helped remove the evidence from my handbag. Have been using my bag for about a month now and I would definitely recommend this product.

I bought this to repair the edge of my leather purse strap. The manufacturers put a type of plastic coating on the edges so that it is a nice finish. Without fail these edges crack and ruin the look and feel of the straps. I have sent the bags back to the company for repair in the past and haven't been happy with their repair. After the straps on my favorite purse started to do this, I found this product. I stripped off as much plastic coating as I could, sanded the edges smooth, applied many, many coats of this Edge Kote (letting dry between coats), lightly sanded one more time and added a final coat. It turned out very nice and I didn't have to retire my favorite bag.

I use a lot of Fiebing's products and this one is no different, good quality and price. When applied to a properly prepped leather edge it creates a very sharp looking finish.

Love this dye! It works so well. I lopped off the end of my belt and needed something to seal up the edges and dye them the appropriate color. This went on easy and only needed one coat. Apparently adding more coats won't change the color of this brand but it went on great and dried easy. Make sure you follow the directions! When it's dry rub it with a soft cloth to get rid of any excess dye. Some reports that it runs, etc are likely due to that. I did a little experiment with mine and didn't have a problem unless I did not use the cloth. It's like shining shoes, leather can only absorb so much before it's done. Just take the few extra seconds to do what the bottle tells you to do and you can save yourself from the anguish that people have apparently been experiencing. I didn't use a professional dauber either, just a cotton swab to get the precision I needed for the edge work. Great product, can't recommend it enough.

This does everything that it's supposed to do it coats The Edge it gives it a nice finish the only thing I don't like about it is that if you do not put some kind of finishing top coat over it it will bleed onto wet hands so if you fix the strap of a bag and grab that same bag in the rain or with damp hands many many days or weeks after you finished using Edge kote on that bag it will bleed onto your hands so be wary about that but this absolutely does what it's supposed to do.

Revives Worn purse handles and Wallets. Almost all newer Purses and wallets have a edge that eventually cracks or breaks off. Included is a picture of a Lodis Wallet that I thought was a lost cause. This is a lovely, expensive wallet that would last forever, and the edge cracked and broke out where it bends. I also had some nice purses that had the edges that do the same thing where there is wear or bends. Even the most costly "Premium Brand" leather wear has this problem. It's a easy fix with this product. Get ready with Qtips, toothpicks, and a wet wipe for mistakes. A steady hand and eye helps too. Once dry ( and it drys fast within 15 mins.) it will not rub off. It will last as long as the original coat. Some may require 2 or 3 coats, but most one coat is enough. Red wallet picture is the Lodis, purse handle is a Coach Purse.

This is just what I needed to restore the black edging on my Dooney and Bourke. I've had this purse for 4 years and is my favorite purse, therefore, it gets used ALOT. The edging was beyond worn off. It was pretty bad. So, first, if you see your edging beginning to crack, get this right away and restore it. Mine is so worn that I'm on my 6th coat of Edge Kote and it's just starting to look repaired. The parts that were barely worn, which are the ends of the strap where there is no regular handling, was barely cracked and 2 coats worked perfectly, it looks like new. The middle of the strap, which sits on my shoulder and I handle regularly was in extreme disrepair. This is the part that I am on 6 coats with. It is working just fine, and there is no reason to doubt that it will be beautiful when I'm finished. I'm using a Q-Tip to apply, which is working just fine for me, as my strap is thick and the original edging runs slightly over the sides (due to excessive wear, because like I said, I have carried this purse almost daily for 4 years), but if you are a perfectionist, you might want to use a very small brush instead of a Q-Tip. I have also used a fresh Q-Tip for every coat, so it doesn't bleed off that much. This stuff is a miracle in a jar if you have a favorite handbag that you just can't give up or are wanting to restore a vintage you found at a thrift store. It works beautifully. And oh yah, make sure you stir it when you get it. The directions are on the side and it says not to shake it. I used a straw to stir.
