Bought this to replace my old black and decker toaster oven I bought a very long time ago. The old one has served us well but within the past year the bottom element stoped working, the door had trouble staying closed at times and the buttons were getting temperamental...but it still works. Anyways, I bought the new version after much research and consideration. I have not used it too much but I have to say it is nice. It is easy to operate once you understand how to set the temp and time. It it very similar to the old one. All the complaints about the buttons and how to set it are minor once you take the time to learn how to operate it. So far I am pleased assuming further use is successful. Let me share though why I like this oven so much based on years of experience...it preheats and beeps when ready, the convection feature can be turned on or off, and I like digital. Yes the screen can be hard to read in the dark with the blue light shining in your eyes...not a big deal for me. I am disappointed it does not come with a pizza pan. As you can see in the pictures I kept my old one. Also I kept my old rack. This oven only comes with one. I don’t think it would work well with two, I just put my old one in the new oven. The power cord is shorter which is a minor inconvenience. I may buy a short extension; but for now I just slid it over closer to the plug. It does get a little hot on outside but I have it out in the open. Bottom line, I am happy with my new black and decker and don’t have the heart to toss the old one. For the price, it is digital, preheats, has on off convection which I could not find in any other toaster oven and it looks good. Lastly, 12 inch pizza no problem...just make sure you use the lower rack slot with the rack flipped upward I think especially if you have the pizza pan from an older version or your own. See photos. This allows the pan to align with space in the back of the oven. Enjoy.

I've quite literally used this oven solely for almost two years. I'm lucky to use my range oven a couple of times a year. Usually one of those is Thanksgiving... It was perfect for when I was my Grandma's home health aide, and it was just the two of us. Now that we had to "place her" due to Alzheimer's and I've moved into a large Studio Apartment I love it even more-so. Takes up very little space, doesn't use much energy, and lets me use my smaller range oven for my pots and pans storage. As a use example, I buy the "healthier" frozen pizzas from Aldi's. They take about ~15 minutes in this oven on the rack. It's already preheated, pizza in, and down to a couple of minutes before the large oven is preheated and only been cooking for a couple of minutes. This is faster, doesn't "heat up the house" much if any at all (especially for quick things), and uses far LESS energy! If it ever dies, I'll buy another one or whatever model replaces it. They have a 3-rack option now, but where I have it that would be too tall. This one will fit a 13x9 cake pan perfectly. You'd be surprised what will fit in it.

We've used the preceding model of this toaster oven from B&D for the past seven years. It was getting a little tired; taking too long to get up to high 300's and low 400's temps and the toasting required lengthening the time setting. Unboxed the this new one yesterday (thanks Amazon for that speedy Prime 2 day delivery) and put it to work and now the old oven function (which we loved) is back and working like new - which it is! Have enjoyed this oven due to it capacity (8 slices of bread/takes a 9 x 13 baking dish), ease of use (push button controls are a snap to use), electronic timer function always worked (no mechanical wind up controller). Unit is attractive and light enough in weight to easily move around if needed. At the price it is a great bargain; I was investigating a supposedly improved model from another manufacturer but after reading the abysmal product reviews on how poor the reliability was and at a price almost 3 times more than this B&D I decided to just go with our past model experience and purchase another. Really like toaster ovens for their convenience; ours is used almost daily for toasting, baking, and reheating items much more than a large oven. In my opinion you would be hard pressed to beat this B&D model for its capacity, easy of use, reliability, and pricing.

My new apartment didn’t have a microwave, so when I moved in I made the decision to go with a small convection oven. I’ll never go back to a microwave. Had a much smaller one like this in my late teens and used it a lot, but still used a microwave due to impatience. I use this to cook salmon, toast bread, make burritos, roast vegetables and toast bread. It can do everything. It’s a pretty decent size and I don’t have a ton of counter space, but it’s worth it and is still smaller than a microwave. It comes with a tray and a broiling tray, both of which I use all the time. Also has a super easy slide out tray in the bottom for crumb removal. The only thing I don’t love is the buttons. They aren’t lit, which makes them hard to see at night, and even sometimes with the lights on because of the reflection. There was a model with backlit buttons that was a little more expensive. In retrospect, I’d go with the more expensive backlit one because that’s the one thing that consistently bothers me. Also, the metal around the buttons can get a little hot when it’s been on for a while, but not enough to actually hurt anyone. I’m happy with this purchase and, at this price point, I feel it is still a 5 Star product despite the button issue.

I bought this unit to replace my previous Black & Decker toaster oven. The old one was nearly 30 years old, and it was still working - but something was wrong with the shut-off at the end of the toasting function. It didn't always turn itself off at the end of the cycle and the exterior of the unit got really hot... but after 30 years of use, I think it was extraordinary that it was even working at all. I had to keep it unplugged whenever not in use. I kept working with it for a couple of years in that condition because I was just so attached to it. When I realized that toaster ovens had gotten so (relatively) cheap, I knew I had to go for another B&D model. I think I paid less for this one - and I mean in actual numbers, not inflated dollars - than I paid for the last one back in the 80s. It's bigger and has more features, too. I'm learning how to use to convection function. So far I have found nothing about this unit that I didn't like, other than there was no owner's manual with it. I realize that it's a pretty simple machine, but I would have loved some general guidelines on the various features, as compared to a normal-sized oven. I have abandoned my plans to buy an air-fryer, because I believe I can do all that stuff in this unit. I've already done stuff like fries and tater tots. This oven does just-normal-toasting much better than the old machine did, even in the beginning. I have kept a regular two-slice toaster under the cabinet all these years and would drag it out every time I wanted simple toast. Now I don't have to. This unit will do up to 6 slices, too - which is great when I am making garlic toast to go with a meal. I usually make extra to package up with left-overs for later meals. I haven't tried baking meat in there yet, but I am considering it, using the convection feature. I have some more research to do first. Here is where that missing owner's manual would have come in handy. All in all, i am extremely pleased with this toaster oven. If it lasts as long as the previous one, my son could still be using this one when he retires. It's saving me tons of money on power by NOT heating up the big oven and NOT heating up the house with that oven and competing with the air conditioning. 5-stars all the way.

Received my oven today and I really like it, it has all the features that I wanted. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I am having trouble getting the convection to work. I followed all the instructions but I just could not get it to work. Tomorrow I will call Black and Decker Customer Servuce to see if they can help me. Also, I wish the timer had a Stay-On Button. If once I get the convection to work I will change the stars to 5. Update: Called Black and Decker Customer Service regarding the Convection button not working and the person I spoke to was very nice and the Convection is now working. The only thing I can say about Customer Service is that it took almost 1 hr for them to finally answer the phone. Update: After using the oven for awhile now, the only thing that I do not like is that the door hangs down when opened. Even with that problem, I highly recommend this oven.

This is a kick-@ss toaster oven. I almost use it more than my Thermador wall oven just for it's convenience and options. I've roasted almonds, toasted bread, pita, baked sweet potato, made pizza, heated up tator tots, broiled fish etc. I would definitely buy this again. It has a sleek modern look to it and is super easy to use. The convection feature is pretty good too. It's easy to clean. I lined the crumb tray with foil to avoid burnt on messes. You won't go wrong with this.

Love it so far! Still getting used to all the features this unit has. We especially like the timer when making toast. So many toaster ovens have general knob setting witch gives inconsistent results. This unit has an 8 level setting with the pre-determined setting being a #4. We normally modify it to a #5. We will continue to kitchen test this unit on other things.

Having done considerable amount of research and comparisons, along with over a year of use, I highly recommend it! For a single person or a couple, this will virtually replace most of your oven cooking and then some! We love it! It isn't just that we generally don't need the space of a huge oven to cook what we are making, but this device also has a lot of versatility - and it does them all well - from toasting bagels to pizza to baking fresh salmon or mac 'n cheese. Clean up is very easy as well. The complementary pans are not dishwasher safe and will have "water stains". This is not so much a con as it is common sense when dealing with, what I presume, to be a lightly coated nonstick surface.

I was looking for a nice size oven I found this one Works very good 1st day I made cake. On the 2nd day I made lasagna it is a very good oven so far I am very satisfied with it.
