Great cheap alternative to the Canon original
Bought this so I didn't spend $20+ on the name brand. No disappoint or buyer's remorse at all. Have now used the product for a few months, including on a trip to Maui. Took a couple pictures with and without the hood, and the difference is noticeable. When you're looking to get evening shots, the glare can sometimes ruin a photo, but with this hood, it helps cut down on the potential. Will definitely return to this seller for other hoods in the future. Thanks for a great product!

Perfect Fit for Listed Canon Lenses and An Exceptional Value
Purchased this Altura lens hood for my 67mm diameter Canon 18-135mm EF-S f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. It costs less than half the Canon EW-73B lens hood and had excellent customer ratings. After seeing it, I see why - clean, black matte finish (no powder residue from manufacture), lightweight (but sturdy high impact plastic), nice quality (no extraneous bumps, sprues, cracks, etc.) and it fits perfectly (bayonet style twist lock design)! Tulip petal design provides adequate lens shading without vignetting. Can be used without having to remove attached lens filters or cap. Can be twisted on the lens upside down for storage in a camera bag or lens bag. It does fit snugly and requires proper thread alignment when being twisted onto the lens. It is designed specifically for use with the three specific Canon lenses listed. Excellent quality and exceptional value.

Highly recommended lens hood
I have purchased a tulip shaped lens hood that fits to my Canon t5i with an 18-135mm STM lens. It is a 67mm diameter lens. Please check your lens to verify the diameter of the lens hood model. I recently purchased the Canon t5i/700D DSLR camera with an 18-135mm lens. I was really satisfied with the shots it was producing until I came across a video that mentioned the benefits of a lens hood. Having decided to purchase one, I came across this Altura hood that looked good and was in my budget considering the high price of Canon branded one. I was apprehensive of the quality and compatibility but I am now so happy with this lens hood. It is reversible! It is a reversible lens hood, so you can keep it on to the camera when you do not need to use it. Good thing is you can use all functions of lens seamlessly with the hood reversed except using the manual focus adjustment. Even the manual focus can be adjusted but with some effort. Quality: The quality is as good as the premium finish of the camera. Nowhere do you or anyone would realize that it is an accessory from a third party manufacturer. The hood fits pretty much well except once in a while when the threads mismatch can cause some frustration. But trust me, this surely must be due to my negligence. So, overall the quality is top notch. The lens hood comes with a micro fiber cloth which is named 'Magic fiber' by them which I think does magic cleaning the lens. Very useful freebie. Digital Goja, the seller, needs a special mention here. Their communications have been spontaneous and would love to purchase in future from them. Highly recommended seller.

Fits Right Out of the Box
Altura made it right. This is my third try to replace my Canon 18-135 mm IS lens hood. I first tried another manufacturer (separate review) and a replacement—didn’t work, would not lock. This one fits snugly as it needs to in forward and backward positions. Haven’t shot any photos as yet but this hood should work as well as the OME version.

Excellent fit
Excellent fit, finish. Should've come with the lens to begin with, imo. Does not obscure the lens at any focal length, and does not cause any vignetting that I can see. Help prevent stray sun glare and lens flare, as best as I can tell. Price seems reasonable too. I'd buy it again if mine broke for some reason, but I don't foresee that happening either.

You will look professional. Great Quality! Warranty is short
Quality item: Line up & Twist - locks onto Canon EF-S lens 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, just pay attention when you line up the grooves. I have confidence in the materials and would be surprised if anything cracks or breaks under normal use (my movements are always careful when using the camera). Only use with STM lenses. It helps prevent lens flare and YES - you can use screw on filters with this hood ( I have UV installed, fits normally on lens). The hood is also reversible when you don't want to limit the peripheral light. 3 month warranty (Fotodiox gives 2 years warranty...). This Altura hood fits snugly and has not fallen off, even under heavy use. Fits perfectly! I have no experience with other lens hood brands. However, I know what cheap plastics feel like and this feels strong. They made it fairly light weight, so there's some trade off in strength, but that was the right choice. The color is obviously black, but you may see some light grey speckling throughout. That's only noticeable up close and might be a factor in the strength of the plastic. My camera is white so I'm not sure whether Altura's shade of black will match Canon products but it probably will. Can anyone compare this to Fotodiox? It would be nice to know that Altura is worth the extra money vs Fotodiox or Generic. After all, it's just a piece of plastic and the part that will break won't be the hood itself but rather the attachment clips. Those are thin and tiny but everything is riding on them. Hopefully the extra cost went towards better engineering and strengthening the clips. Altura needs to extend this warranty to at least 1 year - prove to us that it's a great product! Enjoy!!

Great lens hood, but not for the Canon 80D or the new 18-135mm IS USM
Let me start by saying that this was a really nice lens hood. The quality is good, and the price is exceptional compared to an OEM lens hood. However, where I seem to be having an issue is with fit, but it is totally my fault. Apparently, the EW-73B lens hood fits the 18-135mm IS and IS STM lens, but it DOES NOT FIT the new 18-135mm IS USM lens that ships with the new Canon 80D. For that you need an EW-73D (notice the "D" not "B"). In order to get this hood to seat properly, you must almost force it, because the cutout it just slightly too small. I didn't want to force it, so I won't be using this hood. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Altura yet offers the EW-73D lens hood. Here's hoping it will be available soon!

Great hood for current generation Canon kit lens
I have the Canon T6i kit with the 18-55 IS STM lens and this hood fits snug and stays out of the picture. It is also a good bit less expensive than the Canon version for what is in just about every way the same thing (i have several canon hoods and aside from the plastic not being quite as metallic and camera-looking it is a perfect match). I would caution any purchasers please check your lens carefully, if you have a canon kit from T5 down, chances are its the 18-55 IS II lens and this hood will not work, for that lens you want the EW-60C (or equivalent). Look head on at the lens face and read the full model number to see if its the IS II or the IS STM version. They look very similar in every other way so its easy to mix them up.

Very secure fitting and highly recommended
This lens hood is unexpectedly great! It attaches to lens (Canon EFS 10-18 mm IS STM- 67 mm) Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens. It took me several tries to learn how to attach and unattach it to my lens, and now I know how to do it, I know the cap is always secure, even when in hot temperatures. Here are a few pointers on use-to attach it facing forward, start with cap sitting low on lens with lettering on the left and a dark colored dot on the right; press down while turning it until the largest petals are on top and bottom, and the dark dot faces up. To unscrew it, press down on cap while turning to the right until it stops and it will be loose to remove. To attach it facing backwards, flip it over and start with lettering facing up and dark key symbol on the right; simply press down and turn cap until the key symbol faces up and it clicks firmly into place. (The brand name and lettering will then be facing evenly to the left). The cap will be very secure attached properly, both forward facing and backward facing; it will not twist off or pull off until removed by pressing down and turning. Therefore, it will not fall off unexpectedly like I have heard some third-party lens caps may do. It has a slight give to the outer larger edges if you squeeze them, but this does not effect how it stays securely attached. (The slight give has only served as an advantage to me as I can work it into a tightly fitting lens bag). It appears sturdy and scatch resistant. I have had product about 2 months. The pics I have taken with it have had no lens flare. The only real difficulty to me is the lens can not be manually focused with outer focusing ring when cap is attached backwards.
