This is your final stop.
They work, they help make holes, blah, blah...here's what you really need to know: *** The small bits don't snap! No breaky! *** I've been using the DW1163 and DW1354 sets for three years, and they've gotten much more use than any bits I've used in the past (new, big house, new, big projects). With every other set of bits I've ever owned (probably really cheap bits, honestly), I'd snap one of the smallest bits in the first one or two uses. Every time. With the DeWalts, they just go and go...pilots here, pilots there, drill, drill, drill, baby!

Impressive range of sizes
As they say there is nothing more sure than death, taxes and that the exact size drill bit you need will break just as you are trying to finish an important project. Between the facts of bits breaking and getting lost I have lost count of how many replacement kits I have bought. Why kits you ask. Because it’s almost always a better value to buy an entire kit than just one replacement bit. The drill that I use most often – I have several different brands – is a DeWalt but for some odd reason I’ve never bought their bits, until now. This time it was the brand that popped up first when I was searching and I didn’t want or need 50 sizes, just the minimum most often used ones. It turned out that this was the best value. I’m impressed not only with the quality of the actual bits but even the heavy duty case. These have a flattened shank end to prevent the bit from rotating in the chuck. While there may not be a lot of bits in this kit, the range of sizes is impressive and should cover most typical household tasks.

Wonderful Case, Wonderful Bits
THE CASE: I know everyone seems to review the case so I will as well. I am honestly guessing that they changed the case design. Some of the most top rated reviews on this item are from a couple of years ago so I am assuming they changed the design since then. I say that because when I am trying to get bits in and out of this I don't have much of a problem. I will say, you can't really put the bits back in through the top of the inserts. You do have to more or less slide them in which can be slightly tedious, I guess. But, it's not anything like some of the others were saying. I was able to take out a couple of bits and slide them back in with no problems. As for the durability, this thing is SOLID. I wish all tool cases were made this well. Very hard and thick plastic. High quality! THE BITS: The bits included in his case are fantastic as well. I bought these because some of the bits that I had were cheaper ones and would actually break down at the end when trying to drive in a screw. The bit itself would actually strip before the screw head did. These seem like much higher quality.

Long Lasting and Great Quality
I have to say that this is only the second set of the DeWalt Drill bits I have purchased as the first have lasted forever. The only issue you will have is losing a bit by misplacing it rather than having it fail. As was noted regarding these: The titanium-coated drill bits perfect for high-performance metal and wood drilling. The bits feature Pilot Point tips that resist walking and drill clean holes more efficiently. Use these bits for power drills and drill presses. They are ideal for power drills and drill presses, high-performance drilling in metal and wood, contain a thick core design, no-spin shanks to prevent the bit from slipping in the drill chuck, and pilot point tips that start on contact and prevent walking for clean, burr-free holes. The plastic case closes easily and keep them all organized if one takes the time to do it rather than loading them in loosely. The price is highly competitive and the results, stellar.

Long term investment.
I work in Aircraft Structural Maintenance, meaning that I live day to day using a drill. At home I expect quite a lot from my tools. These bits stand the test. As long as one practices high pressure slow speed on steel, and high pressure high speed on aluminum, the life expectancy is outstanding! I purchased this set in 2009 and finally am replacing it with the same set now in 2016. That speaks for itself. Side note: if you plan to do a lot of hard steel (stainless) or titanium I would choose cobalt bits (material not brand).

Great Assortment, Great Case
I have used these drill bits for a very long time under very heavy use and they are still sharp. These destroy everything they drill through. I originally bought them to go with my cordless drill and have been endlessly impressed with them. The set features a good assortment and amazon offers a price lower than home improvement stores. One of my favorite features is the case. Having drill bits that last so long usually means the case will fall apart before they are done. I have owned craftsman drill bits in the past and the "hinge" of the case always breaks apart after opening and closing so many times. This case is extra heavy duty and hasn't failed me yet. I highly recommend the set as a whole.

Excellent Quality And Case For The Price...Little Difficult Replacing The Smaller Bits Is All
This is a great set with excellent quality for the price...I have several projects going on here at the time and I put some of these to use immediately I have an aluminium door to be replaced, some drywall I am installing upstairs, and also working on my back deck that needs some serious repair. These bits are a far better deal than many I have seen both cheaper and more expensive. When it comes to drill bits its very easy to settle. That is I have in the past bought sets at places like flea markets and cheap tool stores only to be sorely disappointed in the long run. They not only don't actually drill a hole very well, but they get dull in no time and more often than that just snapped in two in the middle of making a hole. These bits are very strong, excellently engineered, and so far with making quite a few holes with both small and larger bits have been holding their sharpness very well. (They haven't yet invented a small, handy, cheap like drill bit sharpener. They all cost all outdoors here on Amazon. I have been sharpening my bits by hand with a small file for years). None of these failed in either making a hole or wearing down and needing sharpening either, even after several uses...I am very satisfied with these, especially for the price that is quite reasonable in my opinion.. As to the case these came in, overall I like it. It's very rugged and would easily take a wallop or something extremely heavy to fall on it to bust it open or crack it. It has a nice sliding lever on the side that locks it when not in use. A far as the complaints of it being a little difficult to get the bits in and out, the slots these are in are not the kind that swing out like on some other cases..You have to reach in and fetch them up and out yourself which is a little difficult as far as the smaller ones are concerned, especially when putting them back.. I had no problem replacing the larger bits, but the smaller ones can be a little more difficult, especially when trying to push them down into the slot with the tip of them pinching your finger. But I happen to agree with the other reviewer here that states that it just takes a little practice and you get used to it pretty quickly. I admit its a little difficult, but no where near overally so as to take anything away from the quality and price of this set which is in my opinion outstanding...Very much recommended..

I hate buying something that should be durable and have it ...
I had a black oxide drill set I had been using for a little while. I’m apparently no Bob Vila and found myself with quite a few broken bits. Basically everything smaller than ¼” was ruined. Usually on metal that I was drilling into. I guess I put too much pressure on the bit? Not really sure. Most of them broke as soon as it passed thru the metal and sheared off if it ever got a little misaligned with the grooves in them. So I really wanted a ‘buy it for life’ type product. I hate buying something that should be durable and have it consumed in a short amount of time. Yes, this product is more expensive than the black oxide bits but what you are buying is TITANIUM and peace of mind that these are of a higher quality than other cheaper options. You definitely get what you pay for with drill bits and I haven’t had a single one of these break on me with no change in my drill or substrate. I had to assemble a dog kennel and it required drilling into steel alloy pipe and these things worked like a charm. I then had to install a storm door and the aluminum was no match for these titanium bits. I’m quite confident I would have broken the other set (if they weren’t already broken) during the installation which would have required another visit to home depot for a simple home improvement project. Do yourself a favor and buy the better quality bits. Even if you only use them once in a blue moon you will save yourself money in the long run by not having to replace them right away

Small, compact & durable case
Used this to drill pilot holes into my drywall to mount a TV. The box is surprisingly small, I will be adding pictures later. The thing held up well and the case looks very durable. I put this into my tool box with tons to spare. However the drill bits look tough and I'm sure I'll be using these later for more purposes.

One of the Nicest Drill Accessory Sets!
Belated B-Day gift for hubby, his other drill set broke last year so I researched drill sets 20V being one of the better ones & not sure what tools he needed or wanted I asked him about this set & he said this set has everything he needs in it. I ordered it & he loves it! A few of manly friends & family have come over & are pretty impressed w/it too. The magnetic strip on the inside to hold screws & metal parts is genius. Shipping was about a week but well worth the wait.
