People are giving it bad decieving reviews because they keep ordering the wrong item. Don't be ignorant like them. Read so you can order the correct piece needed. I replaced both the actuators on my 2004 Ford Expedition. Although they are pretty similar they are not the same so if you need to replace either one I have included a picture with the part numbers with both. This is the one circled in green. If yours is clicking and you don't know which one it is just make sure to pop off the cup holder and the tray to gain access into both. Unplug one and if clicking stops thats the one. I replaced both just so I dont have to come back again when the other breaks since they use cheap plastic gears which break off.

I have a 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with the "clicking rear A/C" problem that seems to be so common with these vehicles. I wasn't sure if it was the blend door or the floor/roof vent actuator, but I read that they were both the same part, and also figured that if one had one, the other one probably wouldn't be far behind, so I ordered two of this part and replaced them both. Total job took about an hour, most of which was removing all of the trim panels and three of the seat belt anchor points needed to gain access to the rear A/C unit (which is behind the trim panel in the passenger side of the cargo area). Once the panels were off, one of the actuators was held in by 4 screws and the other with 3. I removed the screws, unplugged the harness from the old part, removed the old actuator, put in the new one (be sure to line up the grooves on the shaft with the hole that they plug in to), screw it in, plug the harness in, put the trim panels back (much quicker than taking them off), anchor the seat belts, and it's fixed. My rear A/C now works good as new and is quiet. I've heard the Ford dealer charges anywhere between $350 and $750 (or more) to do this job, so for about $80 for both parts and an hour of my time, not to mention the satisfaction of fixing it myself, it was well worth it. Anyone with moderately handy skills and a few tools could take care of this job in their garage or driveway. I highly reccommed this product!

Solved the thumping noise problem. Has been working for a month now with no issues. I changed out both actuators in my wife's 06 Expedition because it takes about one hour to rip half the rear trim panels out to get to these little gremlins. By saving half what the dealer wanted for the part I was able to get both actuators replaced thanks to Amazon pricing and I increased the odds that I wouldn't have to do this again for another eight years like the originals lasted. For fun, take the defective actuator apart when you are done. See the black gears that are stripped? That is what Ford decided to specify instead of metal gears which would have added about 25 cents to the cost of this part. Had they done that, you wouldn't be searching for this part or even reading this now and Ford could be spending their time building better cars instead of stock-piling more parts inventory. Think of that while you rip your interior apart. Allow at least one hour. Dealer probably "books" it at four hours. And yes, I'll probably buy Ford again because they don't take Federal bailout money like GM and then have more recalls than any company in history. Your tax dollars at work and as usual making things worse. Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now.

I felt compelled to write a review for this part after seeing some of the poor reviews. This actuator only provides two positions and SHOULD NOT have any electronic components on the circuit board. This part controls airflow between the roof and floor vents. The actuator that controls the temperature of the air is a different part number and does have electronic components on the circuit board to allow it to operate throughout a wide range of motion and stop at any point. Be sure to order the correct part! If you're working on the rear HVAC of an Expedition and the noisy actuator is labeled 2 POS and the airflow tends to stick at the roof or floor and not change, this will work for you. Otherwise find the correct part number!

These worked as a direct replacement on a 2010 Ford Expedition for the rear temperature controls. There were two in the truck and i removed them before ordering and found them both to be failed, so i ordered two. Took about an hour and a half to replace. Works great now. I've always thought these should not have plastic gears, but they all do so I'm not going to mark this item down for that.

It's not an easy part to replace, that It's not sellers fault, but after all tha work, part didn't respond, i connect to plug and never work, basically before place it i new was damage. But could be just my luck, so doesn't mean it's a bad part or bad seller. And also it was same part number as one original on my car, so that's why i know was just bad luck for me.

Exact fit, works great. Make sure you get the right one as there appear to be a dozen variations that look similar with different part numbers. This fit a 2004 Expedition top/bottom vent blend door (i.e, it's the actuator located top front of the right rear fender under the C pillar). I believe there is a different part for the other actuator ion the rear of the car (located in the center bottom of the rear fender - for the Hot/Cold blend door). I read a number of less than complimentary posts about the various aftermarket versions of this unit; the Motorcraft one works great. And, if anyone ever figures out what gear to buy to replace the $.10 plastic one that strips inside these units which is what makes them break, pleas publish it. The rest of the unit is fine except for that part.

Fixed the problem! But not easy to install via a lot to remove if for an Explorer. You can do it but its definitely a procedure or process to get to the part. There are great YouTube videos to assist you. Be careful certain suv years have different screw locations. But other than that great part just a ton of steps during installation.

Was very easy to install when reading through the comments I noticed that many of them mentioned the circuit for missing this blend door actuator was designed for the auxiliary heater in the back of the vehicle not the front heater that’s why It didn’t have a circuitboard. This blend door actuator controls the direction of the air whether it be up to the roof for the vents or to the floor.Overall was a quality product and was easy to install great value for money

Fairly easy to install in my 2007 Navigator rear air/heat panel. It works as predicted. A little knuckle scraping...but I have large hands. l did notice it was an open package and there was some smudging on it, so I don't know if it had been installed previously and was the wrong part or what. One thing I didn't expect was that there were two of these on the rear AC/Heat unit...of course I replaced the wrong and hardest to get to first without listening to the thump, thump a head of time. Something YouTube videos omitted...So remember to be sure to check which one is bad before you start.
