Very Impressed
We just purchased a new house that has tons of trees and hedges that needed to be trimmed. This tool was so easy to use. I love the swivel part. it makes reaching all the branches easy. I can stay in one position and just swivel the unit. It also is very easy to hold. I was worried it would be to heavy making it hard for me as a women to use, but it is the perfect weight. Another feature it offers is once you hit the button to turn it on it can stay on until you re-click it and shutting it off. It works just as described on branches of 3/4 inch thick. I tried on a little bigger branch but it didn't work. I think this will be my new favorite yard tool.

I had one just like this one for three years until I burned the motor up. I decided to get a different brand with a extender Pole to reach high places. As soon as I started using this other brand I realized I couldn't use it anymore because of the awkward length from the blade to where my hands were. I needed to cut 300ft of hedge row but only did 10ft. I packed up my stuff went home and ordered this Black & Decker again. I don't know why I went to another brand I was completely satisfied with the last Black & Decker I had like this one.

Beast Mode!!!
I finally broke my little 14" Black and Decker trimmer after 15 years, so it was time for an upgrade. I gotta say, this B&D 24" trimmer is a BEAST!!! I have (had) blackberry bushes about 7' tall and this thing just chewed them up and spit them out, and my regular little hedge didn't stand a chance. It's big and gets heavy after a while but it's a great trimmer. If you have blackberry bushes or out of control hedges, this is the trimmer you want!!!

Blackberries: The bell tolls for thee
I have a large yard (about an acre) and blackberries have taken over a part of it. I tried sprays and mowing (yes I even tilted the mower up to use against the vines) and a weed wacker but they just didn't do the job. I searched online for solutions and even considered getting one of those flame throwers (not joking you can actually legally own one) because I was THAT frustrated. I saw a video on Youtube about using one of these on blackberries and it looked effective so I bought this. Wow this thing is sharp right out of the box like nobody's business. It's dangerous sharp but not if used correctly. It goes through blackberry vines like Paul Bunyan going through trees with a massive axe. I spent about an hour and chewed through so much of it I could actually go back into a section of my yard I couldn't before. I got a little power-hungry and attacked some nearby tree branches and could barely even tell that I was cutting anything. It's fun actually. It does get a little tiresome on your forearms and the vibrations will still feel like they're there for a bit after you stop. I recently bought a harness on here that I hope can be used to extend my cutting time. All depending on my own physical endurance I suppose. Overall I'm extremely pleased and wish I had gotten this before. Die blackberries!!!!

Works like a champ
Read a lot of reviews and got luck with a price a reduction. Works like a champ, just like advertised. Don't have to worry about charging batteries or having a power loss due to a low battery. Not real crazy about having to drag an extension cord around, but I prefer the reliability (cost savings on purchase) or the electric vice battery powered. Also, opting for the 24" inch cutting blade over the shorter ones was a conscious decision. I have some pretty deep hedges that the extra 6" inches allows me to reach without a step ladder. Has plenty of power and does a great job. The rotating handle is nice, helps to keep cord from tangling and for reaching hard to get areas in the hedge.

Great Trimmer!
The item came quickly and in perfect condition, many talked about damaged item. The box was designed to fit around and protect the blade. There was a handle to put on the unit but that was all, 20 seconds, and ready to go. Compare to my OLD unit this was a dream; no vibration, lightweight, and the ability to pivot the handle to hold the blade for best and easiest trimming. I have NO regrets about this purchase. I have evergreens to trim that are 9-10' feet tall and taking this on a ladder was a piece of cake. Much easier than our old one. I enjoy trimming the yard and had no problem handling this unit. 5 Stars - Works Everytime & Trims Perfectly!
This 24-inch Hedgehog was a replacement for my old HH2450 model, which lasted about 6 years of Moderate heavy-duty use, every 2 to 3 weeks. The 2450 (Silver/orange/black) body performed outstandingly, until it just finally stopped like an old tired, worn-out horse! Of course, I take care of all of my equipment and conduct some Pre & Post-maintenance, ie, like Pre/Post Lubrication, adjusting & cleaning blades, so to prevent any Debris or Rust buildup, since we live close to the ocean, where rust is viral. 2 days ago I put this new one, the 2455 through the paces for 5 ours straight, by trimming a very large (6-foot wide by almost 6-foot tall), overgrown, long (50-foot) hedge row + an over-grown, open lot, right next door, with a population of small tree saplings, from 1/4 to 3/4-inch in diameter, although I did notice that you have to let the blades cut on their own when using on 3/4-inch saplings. Motor: 3.3 Amp. Pro's - It's A No Brainer! For Moderate to Light-Heavy use x 1 to 5 hours continuously; this trimmer is Perfect. Otherwise, your arms may start rebelling beyond that, but that also depends on the cutter's conditioning, endurance, and weather conditions, FYI. 1. Excellent Trimmer like the old 2450. Slices and dices like butter! Warning - it works so well that during my ground sweeps, I accidentally cut through the electric cord, without noticing until it suddenly just stopped. I thought that the electric cord had dis-engaged, or that I threw a breaker. Nope! It was the cord, which is exactly what happened the first time I used the old 2450 for the first time too! 2. Longer reach + adjustable handle positions. 3. Electric power and Light-weight. 4. If well-maintained, can last more than 5 working years. 5. Two-year B&D warranty 5. Good price! Con’s - Minor 1. No blade removal wrench included for either the Trimmer, and/or, was ever included with the 2450 Replacement blades. 2. The built-in Cord Retention system built into the back of the handle to avoid accidental unplugging is not as good as the one on the HT22 or my old HH 2450; as my electric cord fell out a few times during my use. Comment - A 4 AMP Motor would definitely be a perfect match-up for this trimmer, and make it a bit more useful when cutting 3/4 + saplings. Perhaps B&D could release an XL Version and called it the 250-x - XL. Before you do B&D, send me one for Beta-testing ( ; Cheers!

Don't Hedge! Buy This Trimmer!
I have a B&D trimmer but it's old and the blade is short. I had trouble reaching over the top and it was difficult trimming from the opposite side. This trimmer is really nice. It's lightweight, the blade is long enough and I like the fact that I can turn it. I'm not the best hedge trimmer in the world so mine are sort of wonky but at least they look nice. I watched a video on YouTube about this trimmer. The guy had a yard FULL of hedges and he gave a good review of this trimmer. It's really what sold me.

I just recently bought a property that had shrubs, hedges, cedars, and bushes that were NEVER pruned or trimmed in 8 years!! What a freaking overgrown disaster. This HH2455 destroyed this over grown nightmare with no problems. This trimmer will cut through 1/2 inch branches. You must keep the blades oiled. If you trim large diameter vegetation you will need to oil the blades after an hour of non stop cutting. Just take a quart of your favorite motor oil and poke a hole in the center of the cap on the bottle. Zip zip and you are oiled. Just like putting mustard on your favorite hotdog. This trimmer kicks ass.

C Ya Later NiCd Batteries...
I had been using an older B&D 14.4V trimmer and it was truly horrible. It would frequently get jammed up and leave branches just torn up instead of cleanly cut. And then, I used my dad's B&D 18V trimmer for awhile. It was better, but also had issues. And for both of those, the biggest problem was the battery. When the batteries were new, they were pretty decent products, but the older NiCd style of batteries just don't last. As a result, a 2 hour job would take me about 2-3 days over several cycles of trimming hedges in my yard. So, being fed up, I finally decided I would get a new trimmer. I initially looked at gas trimmers, but they tend to be a bit more expensive. Since my hedges are more or less located in one central area of our front yard (and since I new I had an outlet readily available nearby)...I decided to go electric. I am so very glad I did! This item cuts really well. The cuts are clean and I haven't had a single jam yet (and some of the branches cut were atleast 1/2" thick). Now I can get the job done in one run and can feel better about the environmental impact by not using disposable battery packs or a gas motor. As long as your yard would support using an extension cord fed trimmer, I think this is really the best option out there. Infinite run times with no loss in power...awesome! There are a few possible negatives and caveats that may or may not affect you: 1) It's heavy. This trimmer is heavier than the 18V trimmer that I was using before. So unless you got Popeye arms, your arms will get a bit tired. 2) It's long. 24 inches is a pretty good length and if your hedges are up against some weird corners, pull out the mini pruning shears. 3) Using an extension cable is not ideal in some yards. Other than that, this item is highly rec'd!
