No regrets for beta fish
Very happy with this purchase. My son uses it for a beta fish as marketed and so far no issues a couple months in. Waterfall flow rate seemed a bit fast at first, but the fish seems to like it and swims under it at times. We have a small decoration swim-through, plant, beta leaf, and heater in it and there is plenty of room left for the fish. I've had no issues with splashing, but I use the included plastic shield/disperser thing (don't lose that - it's easy to miss when you unbox!!). Bowl comes off stand and lid flips up. Filter pump can be easily detached (takes Tetra whisper small filters). LEDs are nice too. Extremely quiet.

Thrilled so far
First impressions WOW this is SO cool for the little amount of money. Arrived on time of course, well packaged. We haven't put anything in it but water no decorations etc yet. Wanted to address the splashing issue. With the enclosed waterfall slider I get no splashing whatsoever. Pump is very quiet. I'm 2 foot away from it and hear nothing. I'd say this would be fine for about 6-10 really small fish or 4 big ones. That being said I will update this after fish are put in and see what happens. Pics coming too!

Best affordable little aquarium!
I love this little aquarium! I bought a small Topfin tank that killed the fish because it sucked them up against the filter grill and the lights went out after the second day. I bought the Tetra Globe, put in a little heater, added a beta and 5 tetra, and it has been working well for 8 months (with the original fish!). If you have only a little space for a few fish, this little aquarium is perfect. Buy extra filter cartridges so you can change them out as recommended especially after cleaning algae off the bowl (which will grow because of the light) and change out the water as recommended.

Pleasantly surprised! functional and beautiful Globe Aquarium
I usually don't have the time to leave feedback, but I love this Glove Aquarium so much that I decided to share my experience with this product. As I was purchasing this aquarium I assumed having a filter and a motor, some noise would be expected, I also wasn't sure about it's lights. But I was pleasantly surprised in all levels. First of all the promo picture doesn't do it justice. In actuality the Globe it's very spacious. the size it's just perfect, it's very round and beautiful, I was able to put a few aquarium plants in it, and "nimo"(my pet fish), still had plenty of space to swim around. The aquarium stand it's made out of plastic, but it's very well made (not wobbly at all, which some times happens with plastic items). My favorite part of it is that it's so pleasantly quiet, so much that some times I forget that it;s there... I love, love, love the quietness of it. I also love that when you look at it, all you see is this little quiet beautiful mini water fall, entering the very top of the globe, it's so pretty, it makes me smile every time I pass by it. And most importantly "nimo" (my pet-fish) seems to love it too, the only thing "nimo" doesn't like it's when the globe lights are on, but that's only because his previous bowl, didn't have lights. which is fine because nimo gets plenty of window light anyway. I've taken some pictures, of the globe's open lamp, the front and left angle of the mini waterfall, and a close up of the Globe, so hopefully you could appreciate how spacey the globe is. Apologies "nimo's" picture looks weird because he was having breakfast, and kept nibbling around the little pebbles to get his food. No comments on the filter as of yet. I would 100% recommend this product!

it does a great job getting all the gunk out
It's almost a year in operation and here are some of my observations and advice. Keep the bowl filled to the top , then the current from the filter will be considerably less strong and more manageable for a Beta fish. I manage to extend the life of my filter by cleaning it with my water pik once a week, it does a great job getting all the gunk out. Still using the original filter and the water is crystal clear. Keep the bowl out of direct sunlight and you will have no algae problems. Put in some real aquatic plants ,my beta thrives in this environment, the plants help diffuse the water current and provide a friendly fish habitat. Change 50% of the water once a week. I believe some water current has been good for the health of my Beta, it provides the fish with a manageable form of exercise , I run the filter for 8 hrs a day using a timer I bought on Amazon. So far my Beta is active, with a healthy appetite and takes active interest when i approach the bowl. At first I thought it's interest was for the food, but more often than not ignores the food, it appears to be curious about my presence.

Happy Bettas, Happy Kiddos
I almost didn't get this tank because of some of the concerns by other reviewers. I ordered 2 tanks for my kids bettas; both arrived in good condition and I waited a few days to write a review. Both tanks work very well and were easy to set up. There are concerns from reviewers about fish being sucked into filter, I am not sure how this would happen but I put a plastic plant around the tiny hole where the filter pulls from to keep fish away just in case. As far as the bowl being thin, it is about as thick as most other fish bowls I have seen. Seems fine to me. It is glass so, you do need to be careful not to bang it around. Another concern was the water flow being too fast. I put a large plant close to where the water was flowing into the tank to slow it down and it seems to break up the current. It doesn't both either fish. Other than that, both fish are very happy in their new homes and I am happy with my purchase.

GREAT KIT - Don't loose the clear plastic piece!
Really a great tank kit, pump is quite and more than sufficient for the size. One note for all those people who "Like me" toss directions, there is a small piece of clear plastic with a hole in it flopping around in the box, DO NOT THROW AWAY. This plastic address's the splash created by the waterfall, its a flow guide that drops the water back into the bowl with NO splash.

I have been very pleased with this little aquarium that I bought for the ...
I have been very pleased with this little aquarium that I bought for the office at work. I set it up at home for a couple of weeks with no fish and added some beneficial bacteria. I also put in a few flakes of food to help it cycle. I took it to work, set it up and added two little male guppies. That has been over a month ago and the fish are active and seem healthy. The ammonia level has been 0 ppm when I test it fairly often. The filter makes no noise, doesn't splash at all. I keep the water level very high. I also added a very small heater and I carefully monitor the temperature so the fish don't cook! If you put a tropical fish in this you need to keep the temperature between 75 and 80 degrees. I do water changes frequently because I know in a tank this small the water quality can crash pretty quickly and the fish will die. I use a turkey baster to do water changes and to clean the gravel. It has been fun for me to have this at work and to have something everyone can enjoy.

A couple of pointers
Take care when opening the package and open it on your couch or mattress because the foam is around the globe and it can fall out if you aren't careful. Make sure that you fill the globe with water before you plug in the pump because you will burn out the pump. Make sure that you thoroughly check the packaging to locate the plastic piece for the waterfall. It keeps the waterfall quiet and stops it from splashing out of the aquarium. I just recently received this aquarium for use with Marimo. I don't, nor would I ever keep fish in a tank so small. I can't comment on the whisper filter because I am not using a filter in my set up. However, I love this aquarium. The pump is also relatively quiet compared to most which is nice. The lighting is bright but not overpowering. It is beautiful and reminds me of a futuristic yet modern take on an aquarium.

Exceeded my expectations
Picture speaks for itself. This tank is beautiful, and easy to set up. The waterfall is somewhat loud, but luckily my bf and I love to fall asleep to water sounds. Very satisfied with purchase.
