Great Wooden Train Set.
Great train set for the price! No complaints. We've had the high dollar train sets and besides the fancy paint jobs (which were toxic) for the official characters of the expensive brands, this train set is great for kids to play with and use their own imagination. If it's for the fun of trains rather than a love of a character and a TV show, THIS is a great wooden train set for toddlers and young kids. If a kid LOVES that character, I'd stick with the character and less train for the buck. As for this collection of pieces - Toddlers might not use all of the pieces yet but this set has pieces for them to grow into and learn with the tools at hand for their expanding abilities to figure things out. I picked this one for a 2 year old and a 5 year old to share. It's great for both. * The box it comes in is packed VERY well, I was concerned when it arrived, with the box thinking it was going to be way less than I hoped for because the box was pretty small. It is just packed REALLY Well! ** get one of those plastic storage containers next size up from the shoe size one... you'll never get the pieces back into the box the set comes in and unless you have a place to leave it out, a container to keep it in is great. *** There was another train set I looked at on here that came with a plastic storage container but this set looked like a better set while the other one was over paying for the container and getting less train.

Two thumbs waaaay up! (With a two year update)
We bought this set about a month ago, and we love it. My son's 2 years old and he's played with the track and trains every single day. As other reviews noted, it is true that tracks don't necessarily stay really 'tight' together especially the bridge pieces, but when you got a toddler butt whipping around the bridge while his other end plays with the other side of the track, who can blame the product? There are two design downside of this set (not of the tracks or the items, but what is included in the set) -- there are no double connector pieces (female-female/ male-male track pieces) and only a very limited amount of straight tracks, both of which present as bit of a frustration when you are trying to build something other than the track shown on the box. But just yesterday we brought home from IKEA a box with track parts that includes multiples of straight tracks and connector pieces, and they fit beautifully with the Orbrium set and we've already put together multiple elaborate tracks for our toddler to play with and pull apart. We are well satisfied with the product. :thumbs-up: (2 year update:) We've now had this product for almost a year now. If I could give it an extra star I totally would. The product is still as good as the first day! It has weathered beautifully through all the mistreatment my now 4 year old and his 1.5 year old brother dish out on a daily basis. I'm not just talking about the tracks but also the trains and all the other little figurines that come with the set. In a world of junk toys that toy industry is, this set is not only affordable but entertaining and durable. Simply amazing.

Great imaginative play for little engineers.
We bought this set as a Christmas present for my 2 1/2 year old son, who loves anything with wheels. He instantly loved this set, and who could blame him? Let me list the pros and cons, from the parent's point of view. PROS: Great quality pieces. These can MOSTLY withstand the abuses of a toddler, but will definitely hold up if your child is older and more careful with their toys. Vibrant colors Multitude of track formations to construct. LOTS of extra pieces such as buildings, people, signs, landscaping: for more imaginative play The price cannot be beat for what you're getting. CONS: There are two pieces of this set that WILL break if you're not careful. The railroad crossing has 2 red posts that drop down. These could easily be broken if stepped on or pulled too hard. The bridge is VERY fragile. We had to re-glue one of the sides after it snapped off . Set up of the tracks can be too difficult for a smaller child. Lots of pieces to store If you don't have at least 6 feet of play space for this set, either on the floor or tabletop, you may want to find a smaller set. This looks great, but takes up a LOT of room. Our goal is to find a child height table that we can permanently have this set up on. This is a great set for the price you pay. Just take the size and number of pieces into consideration before buying. Have fun!!!

The set would be a good value for the money otherwise
UPDATE: The company sent me four replacement pieces! Impressive customer service. Other than the original broken piece we haven't had any other issues. We haven't had it for a full 24 hours and a piece already broke. The set would be a good value for the money otherwise.

It will build the picture shown.
All the pieces are included to build the loops shown but the directions are not there. We had to dig up a picture on Amazon and then zoom in to figure it out. All that work and the kids immediately destroyed it and built their own track. They have really enjoyed this set and want more pieces.

Several pieces broke during the first play session. The wood split along the grain when the children tried to disassemble the train. I should had spent the money for a name brand. I have tried to contact the company but can not find any information who the manufacture is. Do not buy. UPDATE: I have since been able to contact Orbrium® directly. They stand by their product and explained that some sellers occasionally purchase damaged merchandise and then resell it. They replaced the train set after I sent them pictures of the damage. The company was very helpful and I would buy their products again, just not from the same seller.

Great town set. Great on it's own, but also compatible with Thomas
My three year old son is obsessed with trains. He loves Thomas. This was purchased as an additional set because he wanted little buidings and such. The items are very good quality. The only problem we had was the railroad crossing bars fall down really easily when you raise them up, but we fixed it quickly with a little putty. The tracks are compatible with Thomas trains & tracks. Reminds me a lot of the Brio set I had as a child in the early 1980's. This one box has been enough to keep my three year old entertained and happy on its own, but it is also fully compatible with Thomas.

Endless entertainment!
I got this for my 2.5 year old son for Christmas and he loves it! Him and my 5 year old daughter spend most of the time just experimenting with different track ways - they use it more like a puzzle than actually running a train on it. It does not bother me that it's not gadgety or electric - I prefer the old fashioned toys that have minimal parts to break. The wood is nice and the home pieces are painted well and also work like a puzzle with interchangeable roofs and bushes, etc! Super creative kit. Will definitely be keeping this out and around for years to come!

Intriguing toy
Bought this for my 2 years old but this might be too difficult for him yet. But parents and grandparent have great fun building it. It takes an hour for the first time. But nothing missing so we successfully recreated the image on the box. Now I wait for the day my kid can do it.

Wooden classic perfection!
These trains and accessories were EXACTLY what I was looking for! All of the pieces are well sanded, smooth and free from defects. They’ve been in use daily for more than 6 months and are not showing any signs of wear or faded paint. The wheels work smoothly and quietly and align with the tracks. The pieces were completely compatible with our wooden Thomas the Tank Engine pieces, including the tracks being able to interlock together and the train car magnets alignment coming together perfectly. The pieces are big enough to not present a choking hazard yet small enough that a toddler can pick them up in one hand. The cars, trains and accessories are virtually weightless - absolutely tiny toe friendly! I LOVE that this train set has no batteries to replace. It fosters imagination, helps with colors, hand eye coordination, cause and effect and is a great first introduction for kids to STEM. The tracks stay together on tiled and carpeted floors. The cars and trains can also be used individually without the tracks and that really expands the stories that can be made. The railroad crossing mechanics work perfectly and are solid, even after continuous use.
