Got these for my Subaru Forester (along with tighteners). Subaru actually says not to put chains on their vechicles, but some places require you have them in the car regardless of your drive train. I essentially got them to avoid breaking the rules. Turns out I actually needed them! (winters crossing the Cascades can get rough, y’all) They were really low profile (which you must have if you have a Subaru: Fat chains = Big problems) and the ride was actually really smooth, other than the blizzard conditions. They went on with no problems both when I fitted them and when I had to get them on at night, on the side of a highway, and in the freezing cold. They’re really not too expensive considering other options, and I’d say I definitely got a decent traction boost. You could get better traction with a diamond pattern, but if you just need a little help on the road these will work well enough.

I bought this for my trip to Sequoia National Park this past New Years and it worked GREAT!! Super compact and easy to install. When you go to these tourist places you have locals renting this at insane prices. Also, the conditions of the rental chains are unknown so your safety is not guaranteed. Just buy this in advance and save your time and money. It fits in a small bag that comes with it and super easy to install and take off. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I've used tire chains for my cars periodically over the past 40 or so years. These are really nice! They are not super bulky & not practically indestructible, like the good old days. BUT, for the few times when they are needed, they are more than functional! They are compact and store very nicely; even come with a handy bag. They are extremely easy to install; chances are, it's not the best of conditions outside when they're needed! I like the cables vs the heavy chains for light to medium duty. I suspect that these won't hold up as well, as long as the chain versions. Not for everyday / long-term usage! However, having frozen nearly to death wrestling with the heavy chains, I'll trade ease of use any day. I'd seriously suggest also getting the tightener, Glacier has an inexpensive set for abt USD 8. But I prefer the multi arm versions - abt USD12 - 20. Also, in sets of 2 (two). Worth it! From experience, take the time to order the correct size for your vehicle! Also, practice installing them when the weather is favorable! Cheers!

Used these chains on our Honda during our recent trip to Sequoia National Park. These went on relatively easily considering I've never used chains before. They took us up to 8000 feet during heavy snowfall and stayed on for 3 days while we drove around the park. The roads up there were tricky with a few hairpins and these worked great. The Honda traction control wasn't happy with them and kept killing power to the wheels, but after shutting off the traction control everything ran smoothly.

I don't think there is much more I can say about this product, but if your on the fence, let me sway you with the details: Product arrived in a convenient carry case. It looked tangled so I just set it aside for when I needed it. Lo and behold 3 weeks later I did! I took the cables out of the package, undid the twist ties and it all but unraveled itself! It was actually rolled up pretty neatly. Installation was a sinch, the instructions were pretty clear. Traction was just absolutely awesome! I was able to get around places I could not last time we had winter weather! It warns to not go over 30mph but I was able to easily do 40-50 with very little vibration, just enough to know they were still there, and yes I can be careless, but I always like to push my gear to the edge so I will know what it can do in case of emergency.

I hate having to use tire chains, but these did work well on my Prius in very deep snow. I installed them in the garage to make it a little easier and drove on them for several days. Fairly easy to install, and did not come loose, or cause any damage to my vehicle. I did use the rubber tighteners and small snap ties to keep the ends secure.

I've used these once and they worked well. Got my VW Jetta front wheel drive car up my steep driveway after a snowstorm. They seem to be well made and are pretty easy to install. I carry them in the trunk just in case I get stuck.

Like everything you MUST follow directions. If cables are installed properly WITH a stretcher and at slow speeds they do as claimed. I only use these for short distances at slow speeds and afterwards clean and spray with light oil. Hold up well. These are not link chain chains which are the type needed for extensive driving. I know of no style for 50mph+ speeds.

Easy to put on once I got the hang of it. I first thought I put on wrong because the excess cable did not reach the clamp that was suposed to hold back the excess cable but I guess my size tire did not leave much excess cable. Fit tires and did not come off while driving in the snow covered mountain roads in tahoe. Much cheaper than if you try to buy the chains at the gas station approaching chain control area. Get them ahead of time and throw some snow pants in your car so when you are rolling around in the snow installing you chains you do not get wet.

No problems with the chains (cables), they were used many times during the last winter and were easy to put on & get off. They held up and will be used again this winter.
