In 2016, I bought this mattress as a first-time mom. It was perfect then and has continued to exceed my expectations! So much so that, I have decided to purchase a 2nd mattress for our little one due in May 2019. You can not feel the coils inside the mattress and it provides the perfect amount of firmness for a newborn. Upon unwrapping, there is no chemical smell. Additionally, the mattress itself is 100% waterproof which, has added an extra layer of protection when accidents happen. After nearly 3 years, there are virtually no signs of wear though, it has softened slightly - which is perfect for our toddler. Don't hesitate, just buy!

I purchased this bed because I had bought another kolcraft for our first born in 2010. It has lasted us 5 years and finally just started to crack after 2 kids and lots of crazy jumping on it. I was happy with how long our other mattress lasted so I decided to purchase the same brand. It arrived on time with no damage. There was no plastic or chemical smell. It was very clean and in my opinion would work for a newborn. It is not hard as cement like it seems a lot of the other reviewers are wanting...but to me it has the right amount of firmness without being super uncomfortable. Our other kids had a bassinet/playyard that they hated to sleep on because it was so firm. This will be used for our 2 1/2 year old for the next 6 months until our daughter has out grown her current basinet and takes over the crib. A lot of people say that it shrinks when the sheets are on it but I noticed very little shrinkage. The sheets that I am using have been washed and dried multiple times over the past 2 years so are probably tighter than brand new ones, and I can fit two (slightly overlapped) fingers down one side. Overall I like the beds quality and price and would reccomend it.

We needed new mattresses for our 15-month-old twin boys. I know some say these mattresses are noisy, but I don't think they're that bad. One of my little guys kicks his legs, which is noisy, but I don't see how it wouldn't be noisy on any other mattress. These should last them a very very long time!

Great dog bed!

I bought this to use for my arthritic 14 year old , 92 pound lab. He seems to like it and uses it often. It’s in a plastic casing so it keeps clean, but I also bought a mattress cover and pretty fitted sheets so I can keep it fresh smelling. Really, so much better than a dog bed ! Bigger, more support, and stays cleaner.

My 2 Great Danes Love It!

I actually ordered this mattress for my Great Danes to sleep on. It's so much cheaper than the XL dog beds out there and it's also much easier to care for! I simply pull the toddler sheet off , toss it in the washer, and put a clean one on. Every so often I wipe the mattress itself down with a damp cloth between sheet changes and it cleans easily. When not in use, I just slide it under my bed! My 2 Danes, and 1 "Great" Pomeranian (who thinks it's a Great Dane) love it and it has held up wonderfully! Not just for toddlers! Crib Mattress

I love that crib mattresses, by design, must be no-frills and straightforward. It makes it so much easier to identify which mattresses have the quality to stand up to a couple of years of use... sleeping, not sleeping, raging against sleep, kicking and screaming and pleading for "dada," puking, peeing... it's like a 2 year-long frat party in the crib. This mattress has a rough road ahead of it, but its price is reasonable and it sure seems up to task.

Comfortably firm mattress

Comfortably firm mattress, perfect for newborn and toddler. The "wipe clean" material isn't loud and crinkly like most mattresses with similar cover. It fit our infant crib snuggly, perfect for safe sleep conditions. If you are looking for a high quality, yet affordable, infant or toddler mattress, I would highly recommend this!

We have been very happy with this purchase

We ordered this mattress in 2012 for our daughter. She has used this mattress for 3 years. We have been very happy with this purchase. The mattress is water proof. This is so important as in the past year our toddler became potty trained. Nighttime accidents happen, and this cover has stood the test of time. There are no tears or stitching coming loose. There is no smell or stains. The cover cleans so easily. No moisture penetrates past this barrier. We do flip and turn the mattress often. Usually several times a week. I clean with a spray antibacterial cleaner. The sheets stay on the bed - which is a miracle with a toddler who flips like a fish and plays on her bed. My daughter is a tough toddler and this product has stood up to accidents, jumps and daily wear. I would buy this again and again if the need arises. You won't be disappointed.

Great quality, Great Price!

We have a Kolcraft mattress for our 3 year old who still sleeps on it in a toddler bed. He used his from birth until now and it's held up so well. I love that they are wipeable and hypoallergenic. Easy to change the sheets on and lightweight enough they aren't too heavy for a momma to lift and move. We were happy to purchase another for our newest addition. I would recommend this mattress for it's quality and especially for its price!

We just received this mattress for our baby-to-be. I purchased this because I was looking for a waterproof mattress with spring coils (as opposed to foam) and the price point was much less expensive than my other daughters bed that fit the exact same description by Sealy. It fits the crib perfectly, does not make any squeaky noises that some other reviewers complained about, and appears to be of great quality. The mattress does seem a little thinner than others I've seen (I can't recall the dimensions off the top of my head), but I don't foresee this being an issue. This review will be updated if any issues are noticed in the future.
