We brought this for our kids this Christmas since we were also getting some MegaBlocks sets. These work with both Legos and Megablocks and provide you with plenty of wheels ... more smaller wheels than larger ones but our young kids are fine with that. The number of pieces listed is not the number of wheels you get ... it is the number of pieces that are used to make the wheels. So for example, if you takle one wheel you will have the rubber tire, the plastic insert that goes inside the tire, and the plastic rod that goes through the center and helps attach it to a Lego/Megablock piece. So that one wheel is three pieces. Still, despite this, you get a lot of wheels! We love this set!

Partial list of contents: Qty (4) wheels that are 1-1/8" diameter, Qty (28) wheels that are 13/16" , Qty (16) wheels that are 9/16", Qty (4) "small" windshields, and Qty. (4) "large" windshields, Qty. (12) steering wheels. Numerous grey colored plates for car chassis, colored pieces for fenders, axels. This set only includes the parts to create the "frame" of the car (i.e. wheels, windshields, chassis, fenders, axels, and steering wheels). You'll need additional Lego pieces to create the bodies of the cars. The product description listed on Amazon says there are four wheel sizes, but I think that's a mistake and there are only three sizes. My sons (ages 6, 4, 3) enjoy creating new cars for their Lego men. Or, they simply attach wheels to a Lego man so he can roll. I think these are great because kids can use their creativity to build simple cars without the blueprints of more complex Lego sets.

They're legos, what more can one say about them? Oh, I know.... One day, I took my young toddler to the store to buy groceries. He decided he needed to get a ty, because, of course you do...you're a toddler. Although I don't often give in to his whims and fancies whenever he wants, I decided to on this day, because, well..mom.So now we have a toddler looking through the toy section of our local store. He found just what he wanted, blocks! Blocks? BLOCKS? These are LEGOS, you monster..Ok, ok, I apologize...he wanted Legos. Being that he was a toddler, I decided we'd go for the safe ones, you know, the non-choking hazard sort., because..well..toddler+little objects +mouth=ER visit..no thank you!! So, he got duplo, even though he has older siblings that already had duplo type blocks at home, sigh, we got more. That is when it all began. 12 years later, I now have a child that is absolutely hooked on Legos. When I say hooked, I mean hooked. He has every set I could possibly buy for him(which, frankly, isn't a ton, we're not the rich and famous of Ohio here people!) and then some. He has made some of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my entire life. He's also made some of the weirdest things I have ever seen in my entire life. There's an awful lot of stuff he's made that falls somewhere in between those too, as well. He has made working vehicles, robots, animals, buildings, a table(yes, a table!), dollhouse furniture for his cousins, toys for our cats ad our guinea pig(who promptly chewed, and got a time out because...you do not eat legos!!!!!), a speaker housing, a flower planter, bookshelf, ironically enough..a lego container...and so much more. I really can't name everything he's ever made. I now fear for his safety, though. Addiction is a terrible thing, and I fear that I have gotten him addicted to something he'll never outgrow. "That's not a bad thing" you might say....but you're wrong. It IS a bad thing. You see, recently he started building something that I don't quite understand. He said he's building a time machine. I'm fairly certain at this point, he is, and that he's tried it out a time or two, with moderate success. It seems as if, overnight, his lego collection has grown exponentially, and I know I didn't buy them. He doesn't have a job, being just a little kid and all, so he didn't buy them either. So, unless he's running some kind of lego refuge for lost and wayward, homeless legos, he has managed to duplicate them somehow with the aid of his new time machine. He also built a sign for his door that says "Private, Stay Out. Trespassers will be Shot with a Lego Canon, repeatedly", so I fear for my own safety and I dare not go in to figure out what he's doing. Have you ever been shot by a lego? Those suckers HURT!! His ultimate goal, I have been told, is to rule the world, and own "ALL THE LEGOS!!!". I'm nearly 100% certain that he will accomplish his goal, at this rate... Bottom line..these lego bits and pieces work just like they should, with other legos. They're also contributing to my son and his desire to take over the world, one lego at a time. So, only buy them if you're cool with that, and cool with giving someone an addiction from which they may never recover...even if they do great things in the world with them, they will never recover and will forever be haunted with the desire to "do stuff" with other "stuff". Some people view that as a bad thing, proceed with caution, and consider yourself warned!!

OK, I admit it, I vacuum up a lot of Legos. When I notice I've done this, I try to go through the dust cup and fish them out. However, sometimes, when it is really full, I just can't bring myself to do it. This leads me back to the title of this review, you can never have enough wheels, or axles for that matter. When you buy a Lego set that has a car in it, they don't give you extra wheels, so if you have vacuuming *issues* like I do, you NEED this set. This set comes with 3 different sized wheels (and hubs), I know the description says 4, but it is wrong. You will also find fixed sized axles, and half axles that can be placed on a car as far apart as you want them to be so that you can make cars of varying widths. In addition, you will find windshields, steering wheels, flat plates for creating the base of the car and little angled pieces for putting on the sides of the tires to make it look like they have fenders. You will need additional Lego pieces for creating the rest of the car(s). For most of us parents that won't be a problem, just lift up the couch and sweep out all the Lego pieces that have migrated under there. I'm sure you will find enough to create the rest of the bodies for these cars. The enclosed pieces are enough to make 12 chassis at one time. In addition to the crazy cars my boys have created using these pieces, they have also used this set for replacement parts for all their police and fire vehicles from the Lego City sets. Pay close attention to the product picture so you know exactly what you are getting. If you do not have lots of Legos already at your house and you are looking for a complete set for building vehicles, you may want to look at a different product. Here is one that may interest you: LEGO Bricks and More Fun with Vehicles 4635. Set 4635 won't make as many vehicles at once, but it is a complete set with instructions for all the vehicles shown on the box. The Lego Wheel set is more for those that are looking to create their own designs and for those looking for replacement parts. Remember, you are never too old to play with Legos!

I used these for my sons 6th Birthday party. I put a set of wheels, axle, plate and steering wheel in a baggie and gave them to kids to make their own race car. We also built a race track and it was great to see the kids racing their own race car built out of legos. I also bought the LEGO Brick & More Builders of Tomorrow so that the kids had extra pieces to build their race cars. It was a hit and worth the price. I was able to make 12 cars out of each box.

I bought these as an addition to my kids' LEGO collection. They don't own a lot of "sets". Instead they have a lot of random pieces out of which they build whatever they want. I heard them complaining that they could only make 2 cars with the parts they had, so I looked around for sets of wheels and axles. This set is large, but it is exactly what they wanted and now they can make tons of vehicles of all shapes and sizes. You could easily split this set up with a couple of other families if you wanted.

Awesome add on kit! My sons Lego collection started with mostly kits. Therefore if he wanted to use bricks and create his own vehicle, he had to remove wheels from a kit. A relative purchased this for him on my suggestion snd I am very please with the quantity. It came in a Lego box with several bags. It has everything you need to create the base of a vehicle, wheels, rims, steering wheels, bases, flats, etc. This would make a great gift for a Lego lover or purchased as an add on to enhance a collection.

Great addition to the Lego block set. The boy, age 10, ignored all other xmas gifts and built multiple vehicles using this set and his stash of ordinary Legos. He even ignored the Playstion gaming console. Day 3 and he is still obsessed with building vehicles and has now expanded to building the town the cars drive around. This was expensive, but apparently worth it if you have a vehicle lover.

I am a grandmother now and kept all the LEGOs my boys played with for over thirty years, washed and dried them. My grand kids, five and seven years old, enjoyed this treasure to build things out of phantasy. They did not want the wonderful sets they had received themselves and put together by Dad or Opa to take apart. The game they invented was to build cars, let them run down a sloping board and the car not breaking and running the furthest was the winner. The problem was, the old wheels did not make it anymore. I promised to take care of that. I looked up Lego.com (US): There was a set of wheels but they did not send it to Canada. Lego.ca did not have them. In the meantime I learned that they are not available anymore. I wrote my story to Lego Customer Support and asked for help. To my great surprise I received a very nice letter giving me six websites to search for wheels. So I ordered two sets at Amazon. One (4598357)at Amazon.com and a different one (6118) at Amazon.ca which had the package coming from Japan. I kept the package to show them on a globe where they came from. To Customer Support of LEGO and Amazon: I thank you very much to show me places where I could find wheels. That was Christmas in April for my grandchildren. We had a great time all together. Thank you, Angelika Giese.

OH MY GOSH were my grandsons (and Dad) excited to receive this set!!! Never enough wheels/car parts to go around. Mom says it will save fights. Dad says it is PERFECT for the LEGO book they also received. My grandsons were SUPER impressed - they had no idea you could buy such a set (to used to seeing the sets they sell off the store shelves). LOVE it when Grandma (and Grandpa) get them something they are truly excited to receive! And, this purchase was a hit!!!
