Great for my 8-year old

Great for my 8-year old. We did have to figure out a system (rubber band worked best after several tries) to keep the last stitch on the last post after winding the yarn around, so that she could loop the stitches over without everything coming undone. This isn't age or ability-related, I don't know how everyone else manages this? Otherwise, great product.

Very good product

My granddaughter loved this product. We purchased it as part of her birthday present and she was thrilled. We had to purchase additional wool but that was no problem at all. She is getting so many hours of pleasure out of using this and we are planning on getting one for her younger sister as soon as she is old enough to use it. It is well made and is a quality product. Do not hesitate to purchase this.

Kid Tested Mother Approved!

My 7 year old daughter says, quote, "I LOVE this knit loom. I give it 5 stars!" :) After verifying with the manufacture that this product does not contain wool yarn (which we have a serious allergy to), I purchased 2 of the Creativity for Kids Quick Knit Looms- one for my daughter, and one for myself- to learn a new handicraft skill. My daughter took to it immediately, her first time ever, and has been successfully knitting on both small and large included looms. The included paper instructions and online YouTube instructional videos make this product truly a quick and easy-to-learn craft. Thank you Faber-Castell for another kid and mother approved product!

Great for the grandkids!

It's easy enough for my 10 year old granddaughter. I appreciate things that I can give to my grandkids that allow them to use their creativity. In this day of electronics, I feel it is important to teach the kids to work to create things that they can use. What a feeling of accomplishment! She loves it and will continue to use it for years. It's the gift that keeps on giving!

It is 5 STARS... BUT...

I have 4 children under 7 and I could see a 5 year old doing this just fine. It is AMAZING... and a perfect option for a child who wants to crochet or knit. This is much easier and the progress is quick. BUT......... watch a youtube video before you try to get started. The instructions STINK!!! Horrible, horrible, horrible instructions!!! You have to go the same direction, in the same "looping" direction. Anyway, trial and error was a PAIN, but the results have been great. My 7 year old loves it and it is really easy to do, really. Very happy I bought it.

Fab- easy and satisfying for beginners!

Amazing! Ibought this for my. 8 year old. Both she and four year old have done rows but the most amazing part is that I have knit 3 hats! No experience at all ! I even gave one hat as a baby gift. This is super easy and really fun. I recommend it seriously to older children, teens and adult beginners, or younger kids who are determined to learn to knit. It's a great experience for young kids to help with but many will not have the attention span or patience to finish. But then again I don't have a long attention span either...this is indeed a QUICK knit loom.

This a great product to teach knitting and will introduce any child ...

7 year old son loves this. He is a creative and crafty kid, and was thrilled to knit his first hat. Gave him a real sense of accomplishment and helped him stay busy. This loom makes knitting much less frustrating than trying with two needles, and allowed him to be almost completely self sufficient (I helped with the beginning stitches and removing the project and attaching tassels). This a great product to teach knitting and will introduce any child to crafts with yarn.

The gift is 100% "Carly Approved" and I can't recommend it highly enough

We bought this for our eight year old granddaughter for Christmas. She immediately dropped all other gifts to begin working on a knitting project with this loom! I'm having more fun with this than my 7yr old daughter is! It doesn't give you clear instructions on how to tie off your project but i'm sure you can google it and find a video. It comes with enough yarn for 1 or 2 small projects but Walmart has an entire selection for a great price so that was okay. This isn't simple enough for my daughter to enjoy but would probably be a nice gift for a 10 yr old.

So meaningful!

My 7yo daughter can make hats and scarves for the whole family with this! She made a purse like on the box, and is even thinking of selling her creations lemonade-stand-style. She is SO PROUD of herself and I'm proud of her. After a few introductory lessons from me (this was new to me too but the instructions were pretty good) she could do it herself. All you need is to buy extra yarn. The diameter of the loom is perfect for a childrens hat, and with stretchy yarn it would fit an adult. I love that it comes with the small loom too, to show her that her new skill is versatile - she understands the concept instead of just how to use one particular object. The sense of accomplishment and independence she has gained from this "toy" are priceless.
