We have very "hard water", and so much limescale builds up inside our ancient GE dishwasher that, every few years, the seals will start leaking. I'm sure using Dishwasher Magic regularly would prevent it, but I'm lazy, and a massive cleaning always does the trick. If you've got a TON of buildup, here's what I recommend: Get 6 bottles of Dishwasher Magic -- if it turns out you only need 3, you'll use the extras eventually. Make sure "heated dry" is OFF and your rinse-aid dispenser is full and set to max/open, so the buildup will flush out instead of re-settling in the plumbing. Follow the bottle's instructions regarding hot water, then run a scrub cycle with TWO bottles. While the dishwasher is still damp inside, run another scrub cycle with one bottle. Then, put one shiny-clean spoon in the basket, and run a third cycle with

Although it's a pretty mundane thing, this is one of those rare products that does exactly what it says it will and doesn't cost a fortune. I have a Bosch dishwasher...wonderful product in nearly every way, except it tends to have gross odors if left empty for any length of time. Apparently, this is a known issue with Bosch and it has something to do with the way their drains work. The Dishwasher Magic is exactly what our dishwasher needed...after a single treatment, the stainless steel interior is notably cleaner, and the odors we were experiencing have pretty much completely disappeared. All it takes is a monthly use to keep the dishwasher clean inside. Definitely glad we tried it, and I'd have no trouble recommending Dishwasher Magic to anyone.

This stuff is miraculous. It’s unbelievable how well this stuff works!! It is extremely rare for me to be a raving fan of a product, but this stuff is amazing. I just moved into a new house with very hard water. The previous tenant apparently never concerned themselves with mitigating the hard water buildup in the dishwasher. There was literally 1/16 inch of solid mineral deposit throughout the washing machine tub and racks. After a wash cycle my dishes were not clean looking at all. Before I found this stuff I used 2 gallons or CRL. I ran 6-7 cycles using CRL and vinegar and baking soda. Then I spent about 6 hours soaking the filters and parts of the racks in buckets of CRL and scrubbing every square inch of everything with a CRL soaked rag. All of this barely did anything. I saw maybe a 10-15% improvement. I was ready to forgo the dishwasher and washing everything by hand for good. Pulling “clean” dishes out of there was just gross. This washer was incredibly bad, but, JUST 1 BOTTLE of this stuff brought it to near perfect. Next I used the sponge and everything remaining just wiped off. It was like wiping a foggy mirror. I ran another bottle for good measure. I am not exaggerating it looks completely new, I could see my reflection in the stainless steel tub. This stuff is a mericle. I looked it up, it is supposed to be safe to wash dishes right after using this product. But I ran a rinse cycle before putting dishes in anyway. I didn’t really notice much of a scent afterward. There is a little of a “clean smell“. It completely neutralized everything and it definitely didn’t smell like chalk anymore. You do HAVE to be able to run it on a hot cycle. There is no way this product will let you down. I’ve never seen a more effective product and I looked hard and tried a bunch of things on this dishwasher.

Excellent product. All you have to do is unscrew the top and place it upside down in the silverware rack. Set the dishwasher on its hottest water setting. DO NOT PUNCTURE THE WAX SEAL! The hot water will melt the wax seal and release the cleaner during the wash cycle. Then close the door, hit the start button and the dishwasher will clean itself. It makes the inside of your dishwasher look like new. The motor of my last dishwasher was ultimately destroyed by hard water deposits that built up over the years. The water in my neighborhood is very hard. The maintenance guy who told that my old dishwasher had died (after many years of good but gradually deteriorating service) told me that regular use of Dishwasher Magic would have prevented the buildup of hard water deposits. He told me to use this stuff every 2-3 months. That was good enough for me. I have been using it ever since. I think of it as a cheap insurance policy and the inside of my dishwasher stays sparkling clean.

This product is truly outstanding. I've tried everything to clean up the orange inside (iron in our well water) of an older dishwasher that is in our rented home. The kitchen was remodeled and the dishwasher sat on the porch for a year. We put it back in last November and I began trying different things to get the rust stains off. I came upon this product and thought, "why not try it?" Just this morning I ran one bottle through the dishwasher heavy wash cycle. As I was about to open the door at the end of the wash, I thought, "ok, it's probably still orange, don't be discouraged." NOT!!! I was dumbfounded ... the dishwasher looks brand new inside! There were a few spots of orange tinge and they wiped right off with a microfiber cloth. I highly recommend this product for whatever your dishwasher may need. If it cleaned mine up, it should clean anything yours might have going on!

Apparently our dishwasher stunk... like to the point my wife was ready to buy a new one. On very rare occasion I could detect a small smell in it. So, before heading to get a new one (ours is only about 2 years old) I decided to GOOGLE the issue and came upon this item. I followed the directions, it is quite simple, just put one of these in there, upside down, and run a cycle with no dishes in there. It's been about a month since I did that and she has not complained about the smell yet, so I guess it did the trick. My sniffer is nowhere as sensitive as hers, it seems the same as it always was to me. This made her happy, which saved me about $800, so now I am happy too. This came as a three-pack, so once it smells again, I will use another one.

This product works wonders! My husband does maintenance for an apartment complex and they run one of these in the dishwasher of every apartment that gets turned over to a new tenant. It REALLY cleans the dishwasher and makes it feel like new instead of one that’s been used by tenants before you. Also did a fabulous job at ridding of water stains from hard water

I have a whirlpool stainless inside dishwasher. It always has a funny smell, ever after it has been run. I bought these, used one the other day. My dishwasher smells and looks great now. No more strange smells. I highly recommend these for your new or old dishwasher. I will buy these again. I will use then like once a month if needed.

One of my Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers needed a broken cog replaced; a piece of glass or broken dish caused the cog to break. The repairman replaced the part and commented that my dish drawer needed a good cleaning as the stainless steel interior was no longer shining and there was dishwasher detergent buildup. He told me to buy GLISTEN dishwasher detergent and to use it as directed on the bottle. I did as he suggested! AMAZING result. My dish drawer looks as if it was brand new! It is shiny and clean. This is the best cleaning product I have ever owned.

I have a "mature" dishwasher one of whose racks was slowly rusting away so I looked in vain for a replacement. The new replacement racks cost almost as much as a new dishwasher. Ebay had a used one for sale. It was filthy and smelled like something died on it. I tried everything: vinegar, clorox, baking soda, orange peels but no matter what I did, that awful smell lingered. Last night I tried Glisten. The SMELL IS GONE! This stuff is ah-mazing.
