I need several sets of inexpensive compact folding headphones for an assistive listening application, so ordered these along with two others, the Panasonic RP-HX40 and the Sony MDR-ZX110 to try them out. These were the best of the three, with good crisp, clear sound, decent bass, good wearing comfort, and, due to the narrow headband, the most compact of the three when folded up. I compared them side-by-side with my Sennheiser PX-100-II headphones (list price around $150), and was pleasantly surprised at how well they did. The volume was about the same, and the crispness and clarity almost as good. The overall balance and smoothness of the sound wasn't quite as good as the Sennheisers, and the bass wasn't quite as good, but much better than the price difference would indicate. I've just ordered 5 more of these.

I don't usually write reviews, but I really love these headphones. I got them to be travel headphones, but now I use them at home too. They are so comfortable, light and stay in place. I hate ear buds, they always hurt my ears, and usually sound lousy. I have had bigger headphones over the ear, but my ears get hot after a little while. These sit on my ears, so they can breathe, but the soft covered ring really makes a nice speaker area over my ear. These look like they have no business blocking outside noise (not noise canceling), but they actually block quite a lot of sound, but let just enough through if you want to know what is happening around you. They sound better than a pair of somewhat more expensive headphones I have; I really hear the full range of sound. I have heard new parts in songs I had listened to many times before. They fold up to be pretty compact for carrying in a bag. All this for an incredibly low price. I don't know if they could be beaten. I'm on here to buy a backup pair, and maybe some as gifts. I wish they offered a travel case, but at this price you don't have to worry too much. I cut open the blister pack carefully, and just reuse it as a case if I'm going to be stuffing a backpack.

I was a little skeptical about investing in these headphones until I saw a raving CNET article about them being the best bang for your buck. After reading that article I immediately ordered mine. So far I have not been disappointed the sound quality is amazing for how cheap they are, way better than any of my earbuds (apple/skull candy/ you name it I got it). The main purpose I invested was to preserve my hearing, apparently earbuds are really bad for your hearing (Whaaat?!?) So I wanted something mainly to power me through working on my macbook pro these fit the bill perfectly…. * As a sidenote, I noticed a lot of people complaining about the size of the ear part. It definitely doesn't fit over your entire ear if you're looking for a Beat By Dre or Bose look alike. But it fits over the important part of your ear and does a decent job of keeping sound out. Hope this helps!

Oh my...I like lots!! I did my homework, looking for a pair of headphones. I really didn't want to spend a great amount of money because it wasn't serious enough for that, but when I needed them I needed them. These came in and I was VERY unimpressed when I opened the box, and after fighting with the packaging they came in, I tried them on for size and my ears weren't covered all the way, again unimpressed, so I put them in a drawer to try when I needed them. Today, I needed them to watch a movie on my laptop. OH…MY....I put these things on and the movie started...I thought I was in a movie theatre just for me. I love these headphones. As for the fit, the padding fits right over the opening of the ear...PERFECT. There are better headphones and there are more expensive, but I would buy these again in a heartbeat. By the way, I was so impressed with these headphones, I stopped the movie to write this review.

As a collector of headphones from cheapie $5 junk all the way up to several hundred dollar reference/audiophile grade professional studio headphones (Sennheiser, Hifiman, Audio Technica, etc.) I'm very happy with these. The sound was the biggest surprise. They have a bright (emphasis on treble) sound signature with good quality bass that does not bleed into the mids. Unlike most cheaper headphones, the bass is not overdone but rather is present where it should be. I would describe the overall sound as punchy, lively and fun. For under $14 I was very surprised at just how good these sound, and the comfort is not bad either (just keep in mind that these sit on your ear if that's an issue for you, but it shouldn't present much of a problem if at all, really.) Back to sound quality and the treble emphasis mentioned a moment ago, by all accounts after burn in (40 hours or so of use) the highs mellow out. I use the "flat" setting on my EQ to smooth them out and I couldn't be happier with how they respond. To put things in perspective, I own and love my Audio Technica ATH-M50X headphones and yet the comfort and convenient size of the JVC Flats and their fun sound signature make me reach for these quite often. Build quality (including a metal inner headband with solid, decisive click adjustments) is also surprisingly good at this price point. Rating them based on their price to quality ratio, here are my scores: Build: 9/10 Comfort: 8/10 Sound: 9/10 I expected about a 7/10 overall, so you can understand why this review is so justifiably positive. Again, my ratings are based on the price I paid. If these had cost $100, those ratings would be significantly lower, but it's silly to rate products outside of their price point. All in all, these are GREAT headphones and deserve every bit of 5 stars. If they were twice the price I'd still easily recommend them, but they're under $15 all day long, so go buy them and enjoy!

It's Cyber Monday. As I was casually checking out some of the deals on here, one of the first things that popped up were pairs of headphones that were over $100, even with discounts. With that in mind, I just needed to come back to the page for the headphones I've been using for years and give it the praise it deserves. These JVC Flats are a very low price compared to many others, and yet their quality is just as good; perhaps even better in some categories because a lot of these big, high-tech headphones I've tried in the past sound a bit muffled. These are a perfect size, not too big or small, with comfortable cushioning that blocks outside noise without blocking the audio. I use them for walking, chilling out, and even for making my own music. They are underrated and I'm glad to have multiple pairs for many different uses. They make all these expensive headphones look like an embarrassment for charging all this money for similar quality. If you want cheap headphones that work exceptionally, there's no better choice than JVC Flats.

If you're mulling over whether to buy these headphones... just do it! I'm using them as I write this and I've tested everything from classical to rap and everything in between. I can honestly say they are fantastic for just $10. There is a little distortion when the bass gets heavy but personally I don't listen to music (unless I'm testing for review purposes) at volumes that could hurt my ears. They are a little smaller than I thought but they still cover my ears just fine, without any discomfort. Why 5 stars? Objectively I'm looking at these for what they are, they aren't Beats or Bose quality but you'd be hard-pressed to find better value anywhere. I'm going to be buying another couple pair of these I like them so much. Clarity is spot on, lyrics are completely understandable and generally just wonderful. Buy 'em and thank me later.

First off, let me say, I'm not rating these compared to higher end headphones. The sound quality won't compare to even a set of $40 headphones, much less truly high end ones. I'm reviewing and rating these based on the price. I paid under $14 for these and in all honesty, they blow away every set of under $20 headphones I've ever listened to. The sound quality is decent (great for the price), bass is present (though not especially deep) and sound overall will impress you given the super-budget price. I bought these for use on the treadmill because my MPOW bluetooth headphones died after 6 months and I figured I'd just go cheap and wired this go around. These seem like they're going to work perfect for that use. They're super light and comfortable. I had also bought a pair of AmazonBasics headphones, these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXP75RC/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_kj9KCbW7HMJMH specifically, and the Amazon headphones are insanely uncomfortable. To the point, not even joking, within 5 minutes of use the Amazon headphones had my ears in severe pain. The JVC's I can't even tell I'm wearing after 5 minutes. The only question for me will be the durability. If they break/die/malfunction I'll update the review. But as it stands, if they last me a year, I'd definitely replace them with the same model when they do meet their eventual end. For sub-$20 headphones, I'd give them a 5. If you compare them to higher end headphones, I'd likely drop the score to a 3 star, but since most of you will likely be considering these for just having a cheap pair as spares or for workouts, definitely the 5-stars.

These headphones are excellent. I purchased them a few years ago to use when running or working out. They fit well and adjust easily. They don’t slip off when running or exercising and wipe clean afterward. The sound is crystal clear and great quality. They are very comfortable, and better for workouts than any pair of earbuds I have tired. I love that they easily fold flat for compact storage. They are durable, and I haven’t had any trouble with the sound or fit. I own both a red pair and a pink pair, and both are stylish and fun. They are definitely worth purchasing and would buy them again without hesitation.

I bought these to have an inexpensive pair of headphones to take with me for traveling, and I have to say that they are actually pretty comfortable, and the sound quality is actually pretty good as well. I have another pair of Superlux headphones and in ear monitors, and I have a few JBL speakers as a reference. All my other headphones and speakers tend to be very bass heavy, which I like, and these hold up pretty well for the cost. They're obviously not super high quality audiophile headphones, and as long as you buy them with that in mind then you'll be happy with them. I also have gotten a lot of use out of them, as I started using them for running because it was too frustrating running with my bluetooth headphones, which would cut out every once and a while. The good old trusty wire from these eliminates any of those issues, and I just run with my phone in a waist pack and run the headphones up through my shirt so the cord doesn't flop around everywhere, and they stay put during my whole run and so far I have had no issues with my sweating, as I sweat like crazy. Would definitely recommend and I would not hesitate to get another pair just to have for running.
