I used this to bring in wiring to my 2017 Ram 1500. I drilled a 1-1/4” hole in the clutch delete plastic plate and added this firewall boot. It made for a nice clean install

This thing makes a secure and protective transition through the firewall into the engine compartment, its weather proof and chaffing proof. I bought several of these, 2 for my boat and one for my truck. Used them to make a waterproof and secure transition to the engine compartments and battery storage areas. I was impressed that all you have to do is snip it off at what ever thickness /diameter you need. The boat used the 1" diameter cut out to carry the 1" OD plastic conduit through. I used it to prevent chaffing and to make a water proof transition. WORKED REALLY SLICK ! I used the other boot to run aux battery 6 gauge batter cables up through the roof rack to allow for charging of my deep cycle emergency second battery boxes mounted on my roof rack. I use the aux battery box to run a AC/DC 12 V power converter. WARNING this thing is not small as it can handle multiple cable sizes. (ITS ABOUT 6"s LONG ) and requires you to drill a 1 1/4" hole to mount it "properly & securely". after that its real easy to use. You don't have to, but I used a little weather striping adhesive to help secure it just in case I made the mounting hole a little too large. (NOTE: PRODUCT DESCRIPTION.) Trim-to-fit 3/8 inch, 11/16 inch, and 1 inch diameter wire bundles Protects wires from sharp edges; prevents wire chafing and shorts Works great for wires, tubing, and air lines Requires drilling a 1.25 inch diameter hole

This looks almost exactly like the OEM one I just cut off to remove my auto trans wiring. I just need to figure out running what's left (abs) through here. This will keep everything clean and anything from entering the cabin. At first I wasn't excited paying this much for a rubber boot, but when you get it, and see it, and feel it in your hands...you understand - Phew!

I finally got around to installing this boot and it fit like a glove! I have an `05 TJ and needed to pull some off road light wiring thru the firewall. I found the plastic cover near the driver's side (USA) and removed it. I drilled out the center and inserted the boot! Easy to work with and I highly recommend it.

I needed to pass some wires through the firewall of my truck and was going to use a gland type fitting to seal the cab from the engine compartment when I stumbled upon this. It looked too easy so I gave it a try. Wow, what a simple install. Used a stepped drill bit and cut out a 1.25" hole. Slipped in the grommet end and it was done. I spent more time finding a clear location. So my entire install time was about three minutes. Two minutes making sure there wasn't any wires or hoses in the way. Half a minute to drill a small pilot hole and to rechecking the location and the last half minute actually drilling the 1.25" hole. I also liked the fact I have room to expand if needed in the future. No need to re-drill another hole. Just slip the wires through and zip tie the end to keep water out.

At first, I was hesitant to pay this much for a grommet. I've used single-wire grommets that cost about a dollar before. My project required running about 8 wires of varying sizes (18 AWG to 4 AWG) and I wasn't about to drill 8 holes. This looks just as good as the OEM stuff in my firewall. Make sure you remove any burrs from the hole you drill before inserting this grommet. Also, do a test run of your wires through this before you cut it to size. I was surprised to find that I was able to use the middle size instead of the largest one.

Just installed this through my 02 4Runner firewall to run a ton of extra wires for switches, inverter, and more. The trim to fit makes it versatile, and the quality is tough enough where I didn't have to overly worry about tearing it while pulling it through the hole. I would recommend take a file to the edges just incase and use some sealant around the ring to ensure the seal.

had to run some wire for accessory lamps on my daughters rubicon unlimited the part worked to route wires thru a hole in the firewall .it works

Pricey little product, but it does what it says better than anyone else. Made in USA too. If you don't have a hole saw collection, then plan an extra $10 for a 1.25" one. One should note that this product in no way creates a watertight seal for wires passing through a bulkhead. Recommend you fill the boot with black RTV and apply a zip tie on the outside. Otherwise, you're going to get a wet surprise.

we used this in our land cruisers overland dual battery install. You can check out the installation by searching "brady adventures dual battery" on youtube.
