Very pleased with this product - I hesitated at first reading some mixed reviews but here is my honest take on this item. Delivered by UPS as promised on time, packaging superior, likely 15-20 lbs of packaging I took to the garage after removing everything, every piece wrapped / boxed separate inside a main box. Directions laser printed, to me, very clear, every screw marked with a AA / CC etc designation and where to place it on the unit. Unpacked and assembled in 1 hour. No complaint on directions, they were crystal clear. High quality components, well manufactured, Glass tube was very well packaged and again each piece was precisely manufactured, I was really impressed. Similar unit at Lowes / Home Depot was $299-$399. Put gas tank in - turned on, very little heat at first but after 3 minutes or so when the top receiving burner and top plate heat up / very happy / very hot. Estimate 5-6 foot diameter from unit of heating, more than adequate. You can't expect the same heat out of this that you get from the other heaters that have the large satellite dish thing at the top. Flames go 1/2 way up glass tube on low, all the way to the top on high setting. Aesthetically pleasing. Now that I've gotten this one, my plan was to get another to put on the other side of patio so I'll be ordering today. If you're not good at assembly you may ask someone to help you, I had no issue at all. 2 assembly things to look out for. (1) make absolutely sure that when you put the base plate on (one side of it has two 1" wide notches) that side of the base must be and inline directly with the burner regulator knobs (unit) that goes on next above it. The notches are where the swivel door rests in to hinge in and out - if you don't line up the notches on the base plate, inline with the burner knobs (burner unit) 3 feet above it you'll get to disassemble and start over. Also, when putting the (3) side panels on the base, lightly hand-screw all 6 screws in first, then tighten. Do this on all 3 sides to make sure you get the screws in, then tighten all 18 screws at once. Oh - I also liked the fact that the grills that go on the 4-sides do not heat up - I have twin 10 year olds that are already very curious about the flames but the side grills are cool to the touch with all the heat generating from the top of the unit that's 7' tall. The dancing flames that go up the tube are very neat to look at. This is a great heater for the price, very happy in Clearwater , FL .

Fantastic deal at $157. We bought two 3 years ago. With the latest price deal, we bought two more. They have done great. One of the old ones takes a bit longer to get warm enough to stay lit, but still works. They to not project much heat down and out. However, the look fantastic and are always a talking point during any parties. They put of just the right amount of light to add to the mood. The top three studs that hold the top cover will rust. Does not distract from the beauty of this heater/lamp.

Item was very well packaged and arrived with all parts intact. Instructions provided were adequate for assembly with a few minor aberrations in the illustrations. It took me 2 hours to assemble but I like to go slow and take my time. Everything fit together as described. Once assembled it fired up per instructions and worked and looked great. Bought it for aesthetics, not for heating purposes and it does look good on the pool deck. It is in my opinion well made and sturdy but should anchor it for when high winds are forecasted, you definitely do not want it to topple over. Very happy with purchase.

I will agree with other customers.the directions are not good. but after a bunch of swearing and about an hour of aggravation, it is worth it. i do not use them as heaters beacuase they dont give off allot of heat. they just look really cool at night .modern design fits in perfect on my patio. for the price tag , i have no complaints.( i own 3) if it was a $500.00 product this would be about a 3 star. after 2 years , they still start immediately. I bought one last year and wanted to test out this product. Used it all last summer wit no issues. very easy to use and starts almost immediately. then I moved it next to my hot tub for the winter. the flame sits at a perfect height so every time I used our hot tub I turned on the heater more for looks. Then this summer I purchased 2 more fore our outdoor patio area. Many people complimented them and asked where I got them. Great product for the price. Propane last a decent amount of time.

Awesome doesn't begin to explain. A little timely to put together as it came in one box with several boxes inside. Was fairly easy to put together but a stepladder was required. This thing was tall (or maybe I'm short)....either way it took roughly 45 minutes plus or minus to put together. Started right up with no issues and looks amazing. The heat area was decent. I am considering getting two and I have a pretty decent sized back patio. Would definitely recommend. Update: One year and change later the igniter is already shot. Its a pain to remove. Feel that for this price a consumer should get more years out of this. Cant recommend 5 star now. Three is where Id put this simply for the mechanics.

I just bought this a couple of weeks ago and have been using it roughly every other day. So far it's been great and it looks totally amazing in the backyard. One of the biggest benefits I really didn't expect was the amount of light that it emanates. Once this heater is cranked up, it really give off a lot of light and can illuminate a good 8 ft radius. I've gotten a lot of compliments from my friends and family regarding the looks of it as it definitely has the "wow" factor. The one drawback though that I prepared myself for by reading the other reviews was the lack of heat that this style gives off. No fault to this brand or anything but it is probably the main drawback compared to the standard mushroom style patio heater. I think the main reason is that the heating core is near the middle of this unit vs. at the top like the mushroom but the trade off is the aesthetics and the light this unit produces. I did a comparison against the standard mushroom style heater and I'd say this unit comparably gives off about 25-50% less heat. So if you're in the market for a patio heater and your #1 requirement is heat and/or range, you might want to consider a different style. However though, if you're looking for a good blend of illumination and curb appeal, this patio heater will definitely work for you.

Just setup two heaters for our pool area in Florida (no need for a lot of heat). Absolutely love the look at night. Good quality product - also bought extra covers. No problems with the instructions - it takes around 30 - 45 minutes to assemble them (based on your skills). A small step stool is helpful, but not needed (you can tilt the heater to assemble the top pieces).

After reading reviews here, I was a bit skeptical and anticipated several problems but they turned out to be non-issues: Rusting of the screws: several ppl had complained about this. I have had mine for about a month and so far no rusting. Perhaps they're using new screws now? Difficulty of assembly: there are certainly a lot of steps, but I didn't find it any more difficult than say, a piece of IKEA furniture. Tipping over in the wind: unit seems pretty sturdy and I don't really anticipate it tipping over even in fairly strong winds. Not a lot of heat: this is true, this unit is more for the looks than the heat. If you want heat, probably should just get a standard patio heater. I would also note that the unit sold and shipped by Amazon seems to be an updated/refreshed model. There is another sold by "Mr. Patio" that lists all sorts of "New for Fall 2015" that's more expensive. However, all of those upgrades are included in this one I bought direct from Amazon so don't fall for that.

I read all the negative reviews regarding the instructions and lower heat distribution. I found the instruction easy to understand and it took me about 30 minutes to put the unit together. Once the unit is ignited , the heat distribution is minimal, but after 10 minutes you can feel the heat 8 to 10 feet away. This unit looks better and heats much better then the traditional patio heater. I guess i lucked out because my unit is amazing, i plan on buying two more. Dwayne NY
