I already owned these from a previous purchase. I just needed another to secure an additional kayak. This was very similar to what I purchased from REI with the exception being that the color of the rope was a slightly different shade of blue. After a few months of use in salty Florida, the carabiners have begun to rust horribly, which mostly affects how easily they open. The actual ratchet seems unaffected by the salt. However, I'm on the hunt for replacement carabiners because safety. Oh, and a minor annoyance compounded by the rust—the carabiner has a sort of safety latch that easily snags the black loops used to secure the kayak. So if you don't pay close attention when you release the strap, you will be when you have to figure out how to unsnag it. Which isn't super fun on the side of the highway in Florida Keys as semis blow by. Okay, back to finding a replacement carabiner that fits the narrow ratchet.

Very easy to use these straps, simple and quick installation. When the ropes get wet, they will start to sag slightly, requiring periodic tightening. However, we have found this to be a must-have device for traveling long distances with our kayak. It provides safety and peace of mind!

Purchased this to tie my kayak to my car. These are fantastic.Easy to install.... easy to remove. Durable.

This has made raising my kayak to the garage ceiling so much easier than my custom pulley system. I liked it enough I just bought another set for a second kayak.

l already have one set needed another. They work perfectly

Such a great idea and time save. Love them!

Best invention ever if you are a kayaker. Easy to use and works super to secure your kayak. Would highly recommend it.

Great for strapping my kayaks down with my Thule Rack. Great Quality as always.

Works very well at securing my kayak to my car.

A second kayak required me to have a second set of tie downs. These work perfectly to hold the bow and stern as an added measure of security.
