I did not have any issues with this heater core fitting as a direct replacement for OEM in my 84 CJ-7. No drilling or bending was required. However I did find that it was best practice to install the heater core in the "inside" of the heater box and waiting until the heater box was re-assembled before installing the screws to the heater core mounting plate. It was nearly impossible to correctly seat the heater core into heater box with it already attached to the metal backing of the heater box. Hopefully this helps!

High grade material and fits like a glove, could not ask for a better product, shipped on time and at a great price. thank you Amazon.

This fit my 1979 CJ7 with no issues and has worked well since. If you've got a Jeep (Heap) of a similar vintage, be aware that the outlets on these are 3/4" instead of the 5/8" that your heater hoses and some other replacement heater cores may have. I had to make a run to the parts store for adapters, but that's a pretty minor gripe when it comes to an AMC vehicle produced when Carter was President.

It's nice to have heat again! My heater core was plugged shut. Fit my 82 CJ-7 perfectly!

Perfect replacement heater core for a 1986 Jeep Cj-7. Replacement is pretty straight forward - the pipes lined up like the original, so there was no need for any modifications or returns. The two screw holes in the bottom were where they were supposed to be. As previously stated, it's hard to really rate it until one sees how long it will last; so my rating is presently based upon fit and construction.

Works great got me through those winter months with rag doors and no top just to warm up my hands works really good with a top on

Love it! Fit my 1979 CJ7 like a glove.
