Overall very nice product. I just installed on my Kestone 33' Bunkhouse Travel Trailer. I went with the 4500 lb as it had a slower raise/lower rate, which means a more robust gear reducer. I took advice of another reviewer and used the 30 Amp in-line circuit breaker that came with the camper. If just doing a simple swap out, it is three bolts and one wire butt fuse connector. Really a 15-30 minute job. But I replaced my battery and added a battery shut off switch (that took much more time than the jack). I used a 10-12 gauge heat shrink butt fuse connector I bought at an auto parts store to connect the new jack wire to the where I cut out the old jack wire. (I am sure you could find on on Amazon). I had bought Husky stabilizer jacks for my RV and was impressed with the quality for the price. I will see how it stands up to use this season but would rate this product 2X+ better than the jack that came with the camper.

My original Lippert 3,500# jack collapsed our first trip out of warranty. Figures. Lippert seems to have a handle on getting their products just past the warranty period. We were on Spring break and I was feeling high and dry. However, I pulled myself together, went to Amazon and found this jewel. It was delivered to a local branch of the bank my wife works for in two days (Thanks Prime!) and I was able to install it at my campsite with a small floor jack that I keep in the camper. Right off the bat I was impressed with the beefy feel of this jack. It's a very high quality piece and drop fitted in like butter, due to the oval mounting holes. It comes with a re-settable 30A circuit breaker but I opted to use the existing 30A blade fuse from my Lippert P.O.S. jack (at least they got that right). So, I have no opinion of the circuit breaker. It also has a very cool little bracket to hang the power connection pigtail for the vehicle hook up that is not shown in the pick. You'll love that too. The jack functions very smoothly and I absolutely do not have and doubt this will serve me well. I guess time will tell, but the fact that given the higher weight capacity rating, this thing handles the tongue load on my 10,000 pound Salem Hemisphere like nothing. It's also about one third the noise output of my old one. My old jack always made me thing the battery was low, but now I realize the thing was just straining it's pathetic ass off. I don't really think it was a true 3,500 pound capacity. Anyway, enough sour grapes. Get this jack, even if yours isn't broken! If you've never seen a tongue jack collapse, and until this point I'd never even considered it could happen, it is a life changing experience. I was left contemplating how many times I'd been under the camper at tight points of the frame, working on it and not aware that this could happen. It'll leave you shaken, Even with this awesome new Husky jack I will always take care to use jack stands when I need to be under the front portion. BTW, I'm on my third full sized camper, and have never had a tongue jack that performed like this one. So, final assessment......This jack is the cat's hiney! I totally recommend it.

This jack is very powerful. The Atwood jack that this replaced bogged down and took forever to lift my trailer when it was loaded. This thing is a beast and doesn't even sound like it has any load at all on it. The only downside is the weak lights. My Atwood light had a bright light that lit my combination lock on the trailer tongue but the three lights barely glow and don't light anything.

Excellent craftsmanship. The ball bearing design and auto stop feature means it won't wear out or grind gears like other models so it should last longer. This unit easily lifts the backend of my truck attached to my 26' RV to easily place and remove the load leveling bars - even my wife can do it now! Some complaints about electric tongue jacks are that they move too slow. I don't really notice that with this unit - hand cranking would take me just as long I think. The LED lights are not that bright. I do love the covered holder for the 7-way trailer electrical plug! Very easy to install - 3 bolts and one positive wire to the battery terminal. You will need to be able to cut a wire and crimp on connectors to attach the included circuit breaker in line to the positive battery lead. The hardest part of the installation was finding a spot for the circuit breaker. This fit easily as a replacement for the manual crank.

This thing is GREAT! We have a 26' camper trailer that probably weighs somewhere around 500-600 lbs at the tongue (estimated), and this thing has no problem in not only raising the tongue up and down, but raising the tongue and the rear of our tow vehicle in order to attach the weight distribution hitch bars. Installation is a breeze (just three bolts and one power wire), and it worked like a champ right from the start. The only downside I can think of to this is that it isn't stealthy quiet. It's not terribly loud by any stretch, but if you're going to use it at night in a campground, it just seems loud. It may not be (assuming you're just in a really quiet campground), but it's obviously going to be louder than hand-cranking a jack. Oh, and it has a manual override in case your battery dies and you need to hand crank it after all. (Or, I suppose you could use this feature if you just like hand cranking it and want to do it for exercise, but that's just crazy-talk.) I would highly recommend this power jack to anyone who, like us, was tired of raising, lowering, re-raising, and then re-lowering the tongue every single time we had to connect or disconnect the load distribution hitch.

Great buy- Smooth fast and powerful. I have this on my single axle dump trailer with a 200lb tongue weight when empty. This HB4500 is over sized for my application, but makes short work of lifting the tongue and then swiftly retracting. Items not included that you will need are: Ring terminal to couple the #10-12 wiring to the battery lead and a couple unions to connect the **included** thermal circuit breaker Grade 5 hardened fasteners (3/8-14 x 1 more than likely: check one bolt for size and buy them ahead of time to prevent installation delays) The LED lighting is a nice feature, but not very intense. This feature also begs to be carelessly left on to drain the battery. I suggest they make this an accessory option for another model. This is precisely why they include an override pin and manual crank handle. Don't lose those! Great product.

I purchased this tongue jack on Feb 24th, so I am outside of the return window. I was finally able to get the travel trailer out of storage today. The jack has been in the garage unopened. I installed it, and it will only extend. Called the Husky service number, and they are closed weekends. So, I will have to manually lower the jack so I can take this new one off and put the old one back so I can get my truck unhitched. I will call again on Monday to see how well they stand behind their product. Update: The problem was a low battery. Put the charger on and the jack is working great. More than enough power to lift the back of my Ford F250 to make hitching and unhitching a breeze.

This jack replaced a Barker VIP 3000 which came with my 30 foot Keystone Cougar X-Lite. I decided on the Husky 4500 to get the extra lift when attaching Weight Distribution Spring Bars. The installation was a snap. I removed the Barker jack saving the bolts. While the old jack had been in place for 3 years there was almost zero wear or rust. I used new stainless steel round washers and the included ‘Star’ washers to install the Husky. Since I had a 30 amp inline water proof fuse already in an easy to replace location I did not use the included circuit breaker. My install was longer than normal as I decided to clean up the old jack replacement location and repaint it. (Hint) Since my trailer is stored in a storage yard, I just left it attached to the truck during the replacement process. Saves blocking up the tongue and all the tire blocking. I bought the 3 bolts not supplied but………. I understand why Husky does not include bolts as at least on my trailer it came with a jack and the bolts were a different thread size then the ones I purchased. My jack ‘base-plate’ was already threaded to accept the old bolts. What you might need: Electrical connectors DO NOT come with it you'll need two - 10/12 Guage butt connectors for the circuit breaker and a 10/12 Ga battery connector (Usually the 10-12 Ga connectors have the yellow sleeves) (plus a set of wire cutters, a stripper and a crimper) The LED lights are way too dim. Not even close to the brightness of the lights of my old jacks. I may well replace them. Jack works great and the installation was a breeze. WARNING: The only down side is the warranty: I went to web site shown in the tiny instructions. There is NO contact info. I downloaded the warranty claim form which must be FAXED to a special number. The form wants the PO number, model and serial number of the jack. Nowhere was I not able to locate the serial number on the brand new jack or and of the tiny paperwork shipped with it. I can only hope the warranty is never needed. There are no telephone numbers provided on the web site either. Update: May 22, 2015: Had the rig out for a trip. The trip included several times the trailer was unhooked from the tow vehicle. Every time this jack was far superior to the Barker VIP 3000 I previously used.. Now the trailer is effortlessly raised and lowered to attach the spring bars of the weight distribution hitch. Highly recommend this unit.

Installation was pretty easy. Make sure you have butt to butt connectors for 10 gage wires and a connector for the end to the battery (ours was a 5/16th o ring connector). The LOAD on the reset button goes to the wire from the jack. The LINE goes to the battery. We drilled a hole in the side of our battery box to install the reset button. Total installation probably took about 20 mins, just make sure you have the parts. It does not come with bolts to connect the jack to the frame so don’t throw out your old bolts. It is VERY quiet compared to our original jack. Will update this review after we have used it a few times.

I bought these for our hunting trailer, an '84 Calay gooseneck, while it is only 18 foot so we can drag it up to deer and elk camp, we flipped the axles and put blocks on it to get height clearance. We had manual jacks on it and the gears went out on one of them. I suggested to the Hubby that we get electric ones and he agreed after some complaining about my being a wimp. We did have to fabricate a bit, that took just a few minutes worth of work. We didn't use the mounting bracket to attach the jacks but we used u-bolts to go round the jack to attach to the frame. The actual plate attachment we used to put under the frame for more stability. We were going to weld it but ran out of argon. We have went camping twice and have moved the trailer three times and it is wonderful to just flip two switches to put the trailer on the truck. They do however sound horrible when I use them (think coffee grinder times 10 or nails on a chalk board times 3) The Hubby says their working correctly. I had electric jacks on several living quarter horse trailers, they never were that loud and my Brother has a huge Montana trailer and his jacks aren't that loud either but the jacks on those were all inside the trailers where we mounted ours on the outside. As I said before, our trailer is high. These have legs that are adjustable and we haven't ran into any problems with uneven ground or clearance issues. One thing I dislike about the jacks is the dropdown leg. It uses a pin and you have to make sure the leg is lined up with the holes to get it back in the right spot. It would be really nice for it to be spring loaded, Like the horse trailers.. pull the pin, step on the foot to put down, let the pin go and raise, the pin automatically goes in and the trailer raises. These need more finesse.
