Good quality, works fine but does not fit some Lodge models well. the fit is ok, but not perfect.
Does not fit Lodge 10 inch skillet -an older model that I have (without assisted handle) -too large. Fits the 3 qt cast iron combo cooker by Lodge although not a perfect fit. Fits well 12 inch Lodge skillet. Also fits an iron crepe skillet (10 inch) form another company that I have had for long time --actually fits perfectly this one because of the shape of the handle (it is not straight). It may be hard to judge how it would fit a specific item without trying. In general --it seems to be larger than would be needed to a tighter fit (except for the 12 inc skillet by Lodge and the crepe skillet).

A must for a cast iron cook
I love my cast iron pan, I use it almost daily. I used to drape a kitchen towel over the handle to remind myself that the pan was hot, but this is an easier solution. Also, since it's silicone, it's super easy to rinse off. I can't lift the hot pan off the stove only with this handle cover, but it does save me burns if I brush up against the handle while cooking. Also, it provides a good grip for my oven mitts when I lift the pan.

a must have
I cook all the time and I'm usually careful. I always put a pot holder on when moving the pan around. BUT...one time I got fancy, was cooking 4 things at once and grabbed the handle on my cast iron and fried my hand. Got on amazon that night, ordered 2 of these and never burned myself again. Its can still be hot to the touch, but your not going to cook yourself. Good quality.

Works great if one uses the correct burner for the pan size
When I see 3,338 5 star reviews out of approximately 6,000 and less than 500 1 star, I had to check. The major complaint was that the handle got hot and or melted. I have used this since April and have never had a hot handle. In fact I just ordered a mini handle cover for my 8” pan. I tried testing my 10” pan on high heat of a recent model electric range. I heated the pan for ten minutes on high heat with the silicone handle cover on since high heat cooking is generally fairly quick. The handle did not get hot. What did get hot was the assist handle even though I had the cover there also. That was because I did not make sure to center the pan on the burner and part of the assist handle was directly over the burner. If you use the correct size burner for your pan the handles should be off to the side of the burner. If you put a pan on too large a burner the handles will be directly over the burner which is definitely over the 450° temp that it is supposed to protect against. Even without the silicone cover it takes a while for the pan handle to get hot IF one uses the correct size burner.

Just what I needed
Just what I needed! This is one of those products that you didn’t know you needed until you saw it. I have two cast-iron skillet‘s and I keep this holder I’m the most used Pan. It is easier to handle the frying pan with this holder rather than using a pot holder. The product is very well-made and thick enough that you can’t get burned.

Love these Hot Handle Holders!
This is the very best handle holder for the cast iron Lodge pans. I put them on the pan immediately to prevent accidentally touching/burning for that first reach to move the pan. I have burnt up too many other holders. And nothing blocks the heat from burning through to my hand like these Lodge Silicon Handle covers! I bought three-one each for my 3 Lodge pans.

I thought about grabbing something like this years ago
I thought about grabbing something like this years ago, since I cook almost exclusively in cast iron skillets. I chose not to when I learned that you can't leave most of them on while the pan is hot without eventually burning them, but one of the reviews for this one said it seemed to work fine just being left on. So I gave it a shot and sure enough, this thing just lives on my skillet now. I haven't noticed any wearing/melting from the heat and it is SO much more convenient than wrapping the handle with a towel all the time. If you use a cast iron skillet a lot, I now consider this almost indispensable.

Husband is happy with this
I bought this for my husband, as he wanted a handle cover for his cast iron skillet. He is very happy with it. He says it works very well, stays on well, insulates from the heat as expected. It seems to be holding up, too. He has been using it for several months now, and it looks like new. I would purchase the same one if he wanted another one for a different pan.

Greatest thing since sliced bread!
This "hot handle holder" is the best thing since sliced bread. I no longer have to juggle a potholder or dish towel to protect my left hand from the heat of a cast iron frying pan handle. It has a ribbed interior which keeps the holder firmly in place. I store the holder separately from the pan to give the interior a chance to dry and to keep the handle from rusting.

Buy it for the handle on your cast iron pan
It fits perfect snuggly on my cast iron pan handle. I tried testing lifting the pan with the cover on it and it was fine. Haven’t used it while working or cooking on a hot pan though but believe it should be just fine. But just worried, the flame of gas stove may touch the end/ edge of the handle cover that sits on it, while cooking burning the silicone which shouldn’t happen though but will update once I use it. It’s heat resistant but not flame or fire resistant, so have to be careful a little. Can keep the handle cover on at all times on the pan but not the mitten on as well as Silicone is easy to clean hence I bought it, though I have oven mitt too which still gets hot when hold the hot handle and can’t clean it all time.
