WOW!
Maxwell, my 9 month old Himalayan, is an indoor cat. How he got fleas I'll never know. My vet told me that people coming into the apartment can bring fleas into the apartment and that the doormat is flea egg heaven (many cats and dogs track through the halls). I tried my vet's recommended solution. Expensive and it did nothing. Then I got Frontline and that didn't work. Lately I looked at his face and I could see the fleas crawling around his head. I cried. All the flea bites on my upper arms and neck seemed secondary to Maxwell's infestation. Then I saw this product. Maxwell is a large cat, although he's still a baby. I ordered the Advantage for 9 lbs+ and received it this AM. Applied it and WOW. It started working right away! His head and face are flea-free. I just have to clean up the "flea dirt". I'll apply this once a month forever. Hope this helps potential buyers.

ABSOLUTE GODSEND
Back in March of 2015 I moved from Northwest Ohio to southeast Kentucky, and with me I brought two cats which my cousin had given me the night before my move. He failed to tell me what he had been using as a flea prevention since his cats were indoor-outdoor and I forgot to ask. In fact, I forgot fleas even existed until I started getting bit by them and the cats started occupying their time with scratching. For the past year I have been battling this infestation and clearly with no luck. I tried cheap flea drops, flea collars, dusting the carpets with boric acid and then later Diatomaceous Earth when I realized Boric acid wasn't safe for the cats. I tried bathing the cats with dawn every week and it just didn't work. I felt the Diatomaceous Earth only agitated the fleas and made them bite more. I am a self-employed freelance artist and so money is usually tight. What doesn't go back into my work goes into food and litter for the cats and there's usually not enough left over for big name brand flea medication, which is why I tried cheap stuff up till now. My friend suggested I try Adam's Flea Shampoo on the cats since it worked so well for her dog. I did, and it gave them temporary relief but it is not a preventative and I didn't buy it thinking it was - I just wanted another tool in my box to try and battle these fleas. Fastforward a month; the fleas are still here, my bag of DE is almost empty, vacuuming hasn't helped a whole lot because the cats are still infested and I am starting to react badly to the flea bites, even getting really itchy sores. I finally have enough leftover in my bank account to get some actual medication and so I buy this after doing a little bit of research. I bathed the cats with the Adams flea shampoo the night before using the medicine and applied the drops to both of my cats early in the morning the next day - yesterday. This morning I checked the cat which had the infestation worse - whenever I combed him he would usually have PILES of live fleas squirming on the comb. I ran the comb through his fur today, starting with his back which is usually where the fleas would seem to congregate. Nothing. I thought maybe I just hadn't hit their spot that time so I ran it down the entire length of his back. Nothing. I figured there had to be something wrong so I combed his neck and withers and still the comb was clean. In disbelief I flipped him over and combed his belly and thighs and still NOTHING. Just one day after applying the drops, both of my cats are flea free. My house isn't still, so I will have to keep treating it, but it should be so much easier now that the cats are free from those pests. I am in such utter disbelief that I've been checking the cats constantly all day just to be sure what I was seeing was true. For once in little over a year, my cats are FINALLY comfortable. And I am so happy I bought this. i am a little confused, though, about Amazon's packing strategy. When I opened the box it was shipped in, the box the drops were in was open. Now this is the type of box that you have to tear the lid open from its perforated line, so there's no way it could've opened by itself in transit. The box was incredibly damaged but the product itself was fine, so I'm not worried about a return or refund or anything, and I'm not going to dock a star because of it, because the product itself deserves 5 stars alone. The picture shows exactly how it was in the box. I definitely recommend Advantage II and I won't buy anything else until or unless the fleas start bevoming immune to it like they did Frontline.

With my review i am going to address points from reviews posted. This review is only based on my personal experiences. 1. Price. Yes, this product is expensive. However, it's absolutely worth it. It works very well and I've always felt that my cats not suffering is more important than the price tag. Also, here on amazon is significantly cheaper than other places. (Saved $20 buying it here instead of 1800petmeds) 2. Balding. There are a few things that need to be known for this product. Make sure you are using the appropriate dose for your cats. Weigh them. Do not assume their weight. If they are on the borderline, use the smaller dose or dont use all of the larger one. Also dont put it all in one spot. Make a line from the back of their neck to their shoulder blades. 3. "Frontline is cheaper and does the same thing". Incorrect! Frontline is cheaper but in order for frontline to work, the fleas have to bite the animals. This product does not require them to be bitten. 4. "Fleas didnt go away." You cannot expect any flea product to completely rid your home of them. It takes a minimum of 3 months to completely get rid of them if you actively fight against the fleas. You need to vacuum your floors and furniture every day at least for awhile. You also need to keep up with your laundry and wash blankets regularly, including your bedding. And its also very important to be spraying your furniture down with flea spray. RAID or Hotshot work wonders for this! Spray your furniture and bedding down every night. I also spray in the crevices of my apartment because fleas like to hide. 5. "Fleas were going everywhere so i had to give them a flea bath." Do NOT do this. Them jumping off your pets is a GOOD thing! That means the product is working. If you bathe them before the product has time to set it, you just wasted your money. This is why you need to be keeping up with prevention in your home. Theyre jumping off your animal because the product is working. Vacuuming, washing, and spraying is what will combat the infestation. You CANNOT get rid of fleas completely in a short period of time so dont expect a miracle. That's where people get disappointed. Let the product do its job and play catch up for the next few months. And make sure you're keeping up with the doses!!

Good for Prevention!
I noticed one single flea on my cat while brushing her. I checked the rest of her body, and she had zero signs of anymore fleas, flea poop, etc. I use to work in a pet grooming salon, so I know how to thoroughly check for fleas. I have an indoor cat. I decided to be on the safe side and pick up some Advantage II for flea prevention. I remembered Advantage always worked better (over Frontline) for my clients back in my grooming salon days. Instructions were clear. Application was easy. Leaves a greasy mark, but don't worry that greasy residue goes away after 24 hours. So far no fleas on my cat! Whether because it really was one single flea that somehow got brought into the house or the Advantage prevented an infestation, I don't know. Regardless, better safe than sorry. Advantage is all I did for my cat (no bath, etc.), as I didn't feel other steps were necessary since she didn't have an infestation. Please note that Advantage works best for PREVENTION. If your cat actually has a flea infestation, please also give your cat a flea bath, consider giving your cat something that works right away like Capstar, vacuum your carpets, wash pet bedding, and then give Advantage for further prevention (pre-emerged adult fleas can live without a host for over 100 days).

Works good, keeps biting bugs off. Real live Amazon customer, not reimbursed, no incentive, verified purchase/user.
Good product, does the job for my kitty. Also use alternative months with Frontline Plus to get all the biting critters to stay off of my daytime outdoor kitty. See my review for Frontline Plus. While both products are better than what one can buy in the big box stores, each seems to work particularly well on different biting critters, at least in my climate (which is extremely cold in the winter, with mild-moderate summers). I do NOT use both products at the same time, nor do I use both in the same month. Advantage II one month (depending on what bugs are worst) and Frontline Plus the following month (30 days later). I do keep his bedding washed/changed at least once a month especially in the warmer months, and do not have carpet in my house. These two products (either from Amazon or petmeds site) work quite well. I place the drops slightly above (1/8" or so) where recommended on the package so my double jointed kitty cannot get his tongue around to where the drops are and then lick them (which would make him sick). But not too close to the ears either so that he could use his foot and wash it off. Had a cat get sick once because she could twist her neck all the way back there and she licked the medicine. Poor dear. So just above that suggested "right between the shoulder blades" seems to be out of their reach. Totally recommend this product at this price, does the trick, esp when combined with Frontline Plus as alternating monthly treatments in the summer months. NO, I am not a paid reviewer, I have no incentive to post this review other than to help other real live purchasing Amazon customers make an informed decision. Personally, I detest what Amazon is allowing to happen with the starred ratings becoming "skewed" by years and years of reviewers that have been given a product free of charge in return for an "honest" review. My review is based on my personal use of this product, and I'm taking time out of my busy schedule to try and balance the scales a bit in my own little way by helping out other real live purchasers know a TRULY GOOD product and a GOOD BUY when they read my review.

Love!
I have had a flea problem in my house for months after bringing in a stray and wanted to get something to help the cat while I treat my home. I had tried Frontline and it did nothing at all. One month later I applied Advantage and have not seen more than one flea on her instead of dozens despite the fact that I'm still treating the house. She's still scratching around her face, but I think she's scratching old bites and I can't expect her to have none due to the state of the house, so overall I'm very impressed. She's even obsessed with sleeping in the box it came in. I recommend this a thousand times over Frontline!

Buy Advantage II instead of Frontline Plus
Me and my two cats moved into a new apartment at the end of May. The previous owner left us some fleas, which multiplied and were a huge problem by the middle of June. I used Frontline Plus back-of-the-neck drops and my cats got immediate relief that lasted a week. By the second week, there were new fleas everywhere that didn't seem to be affected by the Frontline on/in my cats. My cats were miserable, and after talking to my veterinarian during the third week of flea infestation, I bought a 4pk of Advantage II and put one tiny tube's content on each cat at 6pm last night. Both cats were blah and lethargic afterward, but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the medicine, but rather could have been tiredness from interrupted sleep + constant scratching/bathing due to the fleas. The literature said that the adult fleas would be dead within 12 hours. They were. At 6am this morning, my cats weren't scratching or bathing more than normal. I was watching them closely as I got ready for work, and there was some scratching and bathing during that hour, but it was MUCH less than it had been. When I came home after work at 7pm, neither cat was scratching or bathing, and there was nothing throughout the evening other than regular grooming. It's now 9:30pm and both of them are napping on the rug in front of my computer. :-) Advantage II for the win!

which didn't work and made the poor kitties sick
I have 4 cats, all of them huge. (2 of them are Maine Coons, 2 are probably part maine coon but just kinda showed up in the yard so no way to be sure.) One of the cats is an outside cat (she gets downright neurotic if she doesn't get to go outside) so in the summer there's always the chance that fleas can catch a ride in on her. Happened last year, and they were a NIGHTMARE to get rid of. Maine coons=long thick fur. I used frontline, which didn't work and made the poor kitties sick. Never using that again. Vet recommended this stuff. I looked online to find it cheaper than in his office (a 6-pack is like 70 bucks there). Found it here, bought immediately and overnighted it. Worked like a dream. Fleas died, kitties didn't get sick. Highly recommended.

It kills Fleas and Bed Bugs on cats.
Excellent I purchased this to get rid of the bites that my cat is getting from BED BUGS. I HATE these freaking things. My problem with never being able to get rid of them is I live in a shared home. I rent out the top two levels. So when I clear my home the other person I am guessing has no problem but those bug sit somewhere in her walls and then rid back in on my cats when they go to the attic or basement. I looked into Frontline and it's active ingredient MAY kill the fat B@stards but "may kill" is not good enough for me. So I looked up the active ingredients in Advantage and the way it kills ON ALL stages of the beasts. Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen. These ARE the active ingredients in many tested pest sprays for the bed bugs. AND being that all they need to do is come in contact with my cat (which they usually just hitch a ride) don't even have to bite them to be effected, I haven't seen one since I applied advantage to my kitties. THANK Goodness I do hope this is the last of this HUGE process in being free from the bed bugs. I haven't had an infestation for two years. The problem is every so often I will see one alive. I do continue to treat my house twice a month. I was putting the diatomaceous earth on their fur but they really hate that and it causes dandruff on one of them. The do lick all of it off in 2-3 days. This is the perfect way to take care of the stragglers that just wont DIE! I have one tiny adult cat barely 2lbs if that and the other is about 4 lbs. So I order the Large two doses and I have to combine the doses in a small glass jar and use my syringe to put half 5 ml on Ms. Kittaye and 3 ml on Ashley. I HIGHLY recommend this brand and when it is bought by AMAZON I cannot guarantee that it is the real product if purchased from a different seller listed on this listing.

Better Than Frontline
This is the product that I use on my very large cat...like 19 pounds worth of kitty. It works great, and when she and I are outside, she plays in the bushes in the yard and garden; she does not have fleas or ticks when we come back into the house. I also like this product better than Frontline because with that medication, my cat foamed at the mouth and would get dilated pupils and act like she were drunk. With advantage, this allergic reaction does not happen!
