I have crystal clear aquariums and I love Aqueon water filters....

I just prefer to change my filter more often & to use the Aqueon ones. There are two ways to order these. One box of 12 as I did or if you have many aquariums, you can get on an ongoing order list and save even more. Either way, I saved almost 30% over any price I could find in a local store. I even saved appx $7 over the sale price in a local specialty pet supermarket store. Since these cartridges are like razor blades and need constant replacement.... quality and pricing over time really adds up. The combination of the ?Aqueon Filters and these cartridges can't be beat in my experience. I have a longtime pet kissing gourami...now over 10yrs old and he gets the best I can give him. He also eats food which is very healthy... frozen cubes of foods with greens and bloodworms. These foods can be messy if the tank is not properly filtered. So this is not just a visual consideration but a health consideration as well.

Fantastic product!! This is really one of the best filter cartridges I've seen around. I'm very happy with Aqueon! I rinse the filter cartridges before I put them in my 20 Gallon fresh water fish tank filter! They really do their job and help keeping my tank clean. The usage time depends on every aquarium, when my fishies have babies and the tank gets more crowded I change the filter cartridge more often than when I only have a few fish in it. I think the best and easiest way is to change it with every water change. The amazon price is really fantastic!! In stores these packages (if they even have the 12 pack) is way more expensive. So this is really great! My fish are happy, so I'm happy! Great product! Like you, I rely on reviews from other consumers to help me purchase products that I buy here on Amazon (or anywhere else), so you can be sure that my review is unbiased in any way. Excellent quality

These are excellent quality; I rinse the filter if I can't get to the store for a couple of days, and it rinses well to reuse. I have a 33-gallon aquarium with two fish left (waiting for their demise so I can sell aquarium), so the filter stays cleaner for days; once there were eight fish in the aquarium, and the filter did its job well; I tried two filters of the same size together, but one did the job just fine.

Great filter!!!

The amount of dirt this thing picks up is amazing, I am disgusted when I have to change it but you can see how much of a good job it does!!! Im sure the manufacturer's dont want people to do this but what I do twice or sometimes three times per filter is that I wash them with water, with a lot of pressure (try with a garden hose nozzle on "jet mode") and it will leave it as good as new (if this doesnt work and it doesn't look clean, then you need a new one)

Works like a charm

There are very few companies that stand by their products. I have been purchasing Aqueon filters for years without fail. I've tried others but they don't seem to get the filtration needed for the fish I have. It's easy to see when the cartridge is soiled and I replace them every 2 to 3 weeks or as needed. 5.5"x 6.5" Filter size

I asked the community the size of the pads, and I received a response - 5"x7". Yes, this was a close size, but often times we need to have an exact size - like ounces and price. Please see the attached images, because the size is not located on the item description. I bought the fish tank from somebody so I did not have a box or a model number printed on the filter to reference. The size in the description would be helpful to anyone else looking/shopping.

Good Product, Killer Price.

My fiancee was nice enough to buy me an aquarium for two years ago, complete with filters, cartridges, submersible heater, air pump, etc. I received an Aqueon QuietFlow Filter with my gift, and knowing nothing much about the types of filters that existed, I thought it was fantastic. Now, a little over two years later I know a lot more about fishkeeping and supplies, and I still think my Aqueon is a great HOB filter. It works on my tank alongside an AquaClear 50 gal filter, and the setup more than meets my expectations. The filter cartridges, however, are terribly expensive. The only "LFS" (if you can even call it that) in my area is a PetSmart, and while I try to avoid that store, I have two cats, so I'm there more than I'd like to be. Eventually I wander to the fish section, and I surrender my wallet and its contents to the cashier. This same 12-Pack of cartridges at the store is around $42. I get the same exact thing on Amazon for a little over $20, with tax added. I rarely spend less than $35 on this crazy site, so I usually get free shipping, so that's another expense I am not accounting for. I get six more filters online for the same price it costs me to get a 6-pack at the store. Crazy! I think they work very well for the price, and for being just a standard filter cartridge. They're nothing fancy, but I'm satisfied with how they work. I would, and have, recommended this product to friends.
