Finally, something suitable for my small mouth. All the other mouth guards I've tried have been too large and have given me mouth pain and head aches. The Plackers stop me from grinding my teeth without drastically changing the way I hold my mouth, so no headaches and no jaw pain. I will be using these forever. I take it out in the morning, wash it with soap and water, dry it with a paper towel, and it's ready for re-use at night. Can even use it while I'm awake and watching TV to keep my back teeth from hitting the back of my front teeth and etching into them (something my dentist is concerned will cause breakage over the long term).

As a little background, I scheduled an appointment last month to have a lost filling repaired. During this appointment, my dentist informed me that I had actually broken two fillings, both done within the last 2 years. She then stated my teeth show signs of wear from grinding or clenching and I ought to look into a nighttime mouth guard to avoid further damage to my teeth. So I started with the mouth guards you boil and mold. Those were uncomfortable, too bulky and pinched in some areas. Then I tried https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ACX10EE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 because I realized I clench more than grind so I just wanted something to keep my back teeth from touching. The DenTek didn't work either, the little tubes meant to "cushion" your teeth were wedging uncomfortably. Finally, I landed on these from Plackers and I managed to make it through the first night with one of these. While you can still tell there's something in your mouth that first time, it's not uncomfortable or bulky. I have now used one for the last 3 nights and by now, I am beginning to forget it's there. If you're new to wearing a mouth guard, these are just what you need.

I tried these before getting my very expensive, custom night guard made at the dentist. I showed him what I was using since being told I need a guard, and he waved it away with no explanation as to why it wasn't as effective as the one I was about to have made. After using the custom guard, I noticed that I was grinding more often and harder, until after 5 months, it was ground down and very uncomfortable, so I started using the Plackers again. I can put the Plackers guard on earlier because it's easier to talk, less obstructive, and I don't grind as hard. One Placker will last about two weeks or more and they don't wear down like the professional guard does.

When I first put it in, I was skeptical. It seemed small, and I have a small mouth. I couldn't get it to feel comfortable on the top or bottom...I switched back and forth several times. I finally went with bottom, and fell asleep. I woke up with no jaw pain at all. I have a lot of trouble sleeping, any little thing can wake me up. I didn't even realize it was there. The plastic might be too soft for some who clench/grind particularly hard, but this was just right for me. The best part is that I'm still using the same one after a week and it seems no worse for the wear. I simply soak it in listerine while I'm getting ready in the morning. The 10 pack will easily last several months at this rate. Great value. Comfortable, and significant TMJ pain relief. Highly recommended. For the price, start here vs. spending double or triple on just one bite guard.

Hello Fellow Teeth Clinchers and Grinders. To make this review simple I will use a Pros and Cons format. PROS: 1) There are 10 mouth guards in the box I bought for less than thirteen dollars. 2) Multi-Night use. The box says up to 3 times.. I get an average of 7-10 nights worth out of 1. I wash w/soap in the a.m. and squirt with hydrogen peroxide then store in the little container it comes in. I could probably use these more nights, but they do get softer, more pliable with repeated use and with me, when they get this way I wake up without it in my mouth. Incredible that some users report using 1 for a year! 3) Small compared to other guards I've used, so Comfortable. 4) Option of lower or upper teeth position. I can only use upper though, freaks me out with it on my lower, seem to 'float' around. 5) BPA FREE. CONS: 1) Crazy packaging..super clumsy plastic case that's way too big to hold 10 small guards. 2) The actual small 'guard holder' is not so easy to open, especially late at night, with its flimsy aluminum peel back tab. Annoying. I still give the product 5 stars because it's Great !! UPDATE: January 4, 2019 Almost one year later and I'm still as happy as someone who needs a night guard can be. I'm also now very good at getting the small guard container open, just took a few packets of practice. This brand won't be a winner for everyone, but for me, it's the best. I tried another brand that had a ribbing that bothered my tongue, so I came right back to these. I read a couple of reviews that said this guard doesn't stay in place, but I found if I just put it in my mouth, close my mouth then relax and go to sleep, it works very well. I don't try to wear them to eat, to talk, to go to the store, or ummm, anything else ;) Still 5 stars after nearly a year of use!

I love these... have a clenching problem at night and these work so well. They can be reused which is a PLUS! I have bought them previously and this is now my 2nd order. Don't imagine it will be my last.

I'm really happy with these Plackers Mouth Guards. I was using a boil and bite guard prior to these, and while it worked, it was very uncomfortable due to its bulky shape and size. These I hardly notice I'm wearing, and they definitely help with my tooth grinding/clenching problem. I've been sleeping much better since I started wearing these. Plus, the price is fantastic. I know it says on the box that you should wear one two or three times and then throw it out, but I confess I've worn each one over a month so far. They hold up very well, though I'm sure individual results will vary depending on how severe each person's grinding problem is. I will definitely buy these again.

I'm not usually one to leave a review. But this product worked so well for me, I just HAD to write one to sing its praises! I've suffered from TMJ for years. As far back as my early 20s, probably earlier, if I was more observant of my own health as a kid. Have a family history of TMJ - dad and all 3 sisters. Lovely, huh?! I've tried a custom mouth guard - basically a mold taken at my dentist's office and a plastic guard made. Well, they must not have made it right because it started shifting my teeth and causing a gap in my front teeth. So, that was a bust. Looked up and down for cures for TMJ. I grind AND clench. Now had very visible wear in my teeth, hairline cracks in teeth, jaw muscles constantly tense and sore, especially the nerve behind the right jaw, jaw and teeth pain when grinding/clenching if extra bad the night before. I started getting chiropractic treatment and it worked marvelously ... until my chiropractor moved out of town and I never found one as good as her for my TMJ. Recently, I decided to go to a naturopath who specializes in manual manipulation (a bit like chiropractic). He did some jaw manipulations and also showed me some exercises I could do myself with the jaw at home. He also suggested a mouthguard from Amazon. It's one of those you stick in hot water then mold around your teeth. Well, I'm not crazy about having a full guard as it prevents your teeth from getting bathed in saliva while you sleep. But, I saw this product in one of the "recommended" products list and decided to give it a shot. Why not for $12?! The first night I tried it on my upper teeth. Woke up the next morning to my jaw hurting less already. Did my jaw exercises and most of the pain was gone. But, I discovered, after placing in on my upper teeth, my bite felt kind of weird for the hour or so after I remove it. The next few nights, I tried it on my lower teeth. MUCH better! No jaw pain upon waking up. Not even on the nerve behind my right jaw, which has always been there. No funky bite displacement either. The only minus is the lower gums where part of the guard that rests against the lower gums is more sensitive, so it's a bit uncomfortable until I fall asleep. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!!!! It's a lifesaver. For $12 it's well worth the purchase compared to other dental appliances that can easily run over $300 on up. P.S. - review written by my wife, the one with the TMJ :-)

I have had TMJ for over 20 years. I have gone thru several expensive custom made soft mouth guards as well as 2 hard mouth guards. I have also tried several over the counter mouth guards that you soften in hot water blah blah blah.... you get the picture. Anyway, I figured why not try this, I tried everything else. These are GREAT! I love them and highly recommend them I have used this product for about 4-5 weeks. Still have the first one and it shows no sign of wear. They appear small but fit perfectly into your mouth I put this in about 10 minute before bed, the warmth of your mouth softens it up and you don't feel it after a few minutes. I love that its small, I keep a spare in my purse and one in my travel bag. For the price of 10 guards per pack you can't go wrong.

i'm a grinder... to top it off one of my meds causes bruxism in many of its users... the 1st guard i ever bought was from wal-mart (2 for $26)...good quality but costly... my dog chews almost anything with my scent on it... so after a few days it disappeared from my desk... i found den-tek ready-fit disposables (16 ct) on amazon (prices vary)... each den-tek lasts me about a week (i wear them pretty much all day) but by then i've ground it down till it's barely functional... i needed to order a new box and found the plackers so i figured why not... extremely comfortable... resilient soft plastic (the den-teks are not soft... have hard edges) these will last much longer... easily a month... a much better bang for your buck...
