These work great, I've already made my money back
I don't know what these bad reviews are talking about. These cut pencil shavings out of everything I put holes in which shows that they come plenty sharp. I have only used these on a couple projects so I cannot review on how long they will last, but I own a woodworking business and once I feel like they received a decent beating I will try and come back and review further. These aren't going to be the highest of quality forstner bits that you would get at a place like Rockler but they definitely do everything you want them to do. They cut great and they leave a smooth cut no Jagged edges and a smooth bottom

Great product despite mixed reviews
I saw some mixed but this set seemed to be the most solid product in it's price range. Thankfully, I know that I have made the right choice. So far, the bits have managed to take my abuse of boring into both end-grain and cross-grain without skipping a beat. I think the bad reviews may be a factor of people not knowing that these bits require a slow speed. I set my drill press to its slowest speed (620 rpm) and I have had no issues thus far.

Great bit for a good price
Great set of value Forstner bits. These are my first set so I don't have others to compare my review on, but so far, they have worked great for my needs. I've used them in pine, pine plywood, and baltic birch so far and I love them. The case is quite nice for storing them also, I keep them on a little stand I have next to my drill press. Probably wouldn't hurt to spray a little oil or something on them to prevent rust.....something to think of when next i'm in my shop.

Quality bits at an affordable price.
I am giving these 5 stars based on the price. Sure there are better forstner bits on the market, but they come at a much higher cost. As far as drilling smooth holes, these bits perform great. I guess the real question is how many smooth holes can they cut. I can't answer that now but I have used the 1" and 1-1/8" many times with great results. I typically use them in my lathe, but also in my drill press when necessary. Most of the wood I drill with forester bits are hard woods, so they have been put to the test. They cut great and clean out the shavings really well too. I just make sure to take my time and back the bit out a few times to cool things off and clear out the hole and the bits have no problem.

Good asortment of forstner bits
So far so good. I've been using them with my drill press to help with mortises that I then chisel out by hand. These have worked very, very well. No complaints at all! decent quality, price, and a variety of sizes.

These bits will not disappoint!!!
I enjoy woodworking and have a well equipped shop with a wide variety of brands. Porter Cable is one of my favorite brands for woodworking tools. Their quality rarely disappoints and these bits are no exception. Smooth cutting, runs true, and leaves a clean hole.

Excellent bits
It is virtually impossible to find forstner bits locally so I ordered this set. The bits are very well made and consistently drill clean holes in all the woods I have tried them on. Mine are always used in my drill press, though you could probably use them in a portable drill is you take your time. Because of the way forstner bits cut, slower is better. Considering the variety in this kit, I consider it a very good purchase.

Great price on usually expensive Forstner bits.
A fantastic deal on Forstner bits. Porter-Cable has always had a sterling reputation for quality tools, but they are usually quite expensive. No problem...you always get what you pay for. Forstner bits have historically been very expensive, so when I saw this full set of 14 bits for under $40.00, it was a no-brainer. Perform just like Forstner bits should perform, even though they are made in China. Most Chinese products are lacking in quality and durability, in my opinion, but I trust the Porter-Cable brand, and know they will stand behind their products like they always have. You may be too young to remember, but I recall when 'Made in Japan' meant really cheap, crappy products. Now Japan makes some of the finest products in the world. It would be great if China is following in their footsteps.

Great bit set, just go slow.
Great bits! Just take it slow when using these and they will go for a long time. Have had no issues whatsoever going through oak with the largest bits in my drill press. After multiple holes in various woods with the same size bits over and over the shavings come out in continuous curls. Bits seem very true and straight in my press and don't wobble and aren't off center. Would definitely buy these again if they were every list or damaged.
