Good spreader for scotts products

I bought this spreader as a replacement for one that the edge guard had broken and Scotts sent me a refund. I like the spreader a lot because it has the edge guard that allowes you to spread right up to the edge of my drive without spreading material on the drive. With other spreaders I have owned material from the spreader would get on my pant legs; not with this one. I learned something from my first one I had; it will spread scotts products very well without any problems but when I tried spreading abrasive product such as regular fertilizer or pelletized lime it clogged up and would not allow the edge guard to work freely.

RECOMMEND PURCHASING THE PRO VERSION FOR $20 MORE. THE TIRES ARE PNEUMATIC AIR FILLED AND EASY TO ROLL. REST IS ALL THE SAME WHEN COMPARED TO THE DLX VERSION.

VERY good price for the spreader.... Home etc. wants much more for the same thing!

Works great, good for the money.

It works great and the pneumatic tires are nice. It is a good deal for the money. I hope it lasts longer than my last Scotts spreader. The axles rusted away where they met the wheels. I washed it after every use too.

GREAT SPREADER! Short handles.

Spreader arrived quickly and in great shape due to the INCREDIBLE double corrugated boxing! The spreader came with a cover to use in inclement weather and was a breeze to unpack and assemble. (Umm...all you did was unfold the handles so really even a dolt like me can do it!!) Wheels and tires are big and roll easily over roots and rocks. Spread is fantastic and the EdgeGuard feature is great! Now that I have it - how did I do without it? One application done and everything went perfectly. Makes fertilizing somewhat enjoyable. HINT TO MANUFACTURER: For people over 6'tall (6'5" here) Make handles extendable maybe 4 or 5 inches. Spring snap extensions like on canes and walkers.

This works as described and expected. It has the edge guard feature and the the pneumatic tires which are truly a plus for using on a medium to large sized plot if you have to fertilize between and around sidewalks, drives, trees, flower beds and other obstacles. I have another style without these features and sometimes when it is low on fertilizer the spreader will skip and not properly/easily roll in uneven terrain and also requires much more blower work to clean off its over spread on the adjacent cement areas.

I bought this item for my husband for his birthday and he loved it! Only used once to spread seed in our back yard, but I suspect it will be used much more once the weather gets warmer. I am interested to see if it does okay spreading salt in the winter.

Commercial salt application- works great!

I purchased this to put salt down on a 24 space commercial parking lot. It works great! Tires are rubber, and it's much more economical than some of the other options I was looking at. The salt may degrade some of the parts over time, and I understand that. However, for the price... this is exactly what I was looking for... and comes with a nice cover that protects the contents in the bin when you are spreading.

Have used for one summer so far and works great. I have about a 7k sq ft yard. The edge guard works great, just remember to turn it off when done with edges. Comfortable handle. Will hold a full bag of milorganite fertilizer. I'm happy with my purchase.

Love this spreader

This is perfect for me because the operation is so easy and simple. I have a large, hilly yard that has both flat places and sloping hills. I can use this with ease as the wheels make pushing it a dream. Even my husband thought it was easy to use. The large open bin lets you pour your fertilizer without any spills, easy to turn on and you can quickly get to work.
