Simple and reliable
I had previously bought a sophisticated battery box with a USB port, auxilliary 12 volt outlets and an LED test system to monitor battery charge. The LED system worked on the bench after charging the battery, but when installed and used 10 days later, gave no readout. It was just too complicated to be reliable. This is just a simple vented box. Does what it needs to do and I have other means of monitoring the battery condition. I like this MUCH better.

Ham Radio Custom Battery Box....
I built a portable battery backup system for my Ham radio(s). Inside this box I placed a lithium ion battery which only took up a small section and was secured by both the divider (Supplied) and Velcro (Lowes). In the lid I placed the wiring and terminal strips which supplied power to the power pole mounted through box connector, voltage meter, USB connectors and more. The quality of the box was great, it is vented if needed, it has the shape needed to allow installation of gauges, through box connectors, and if desired, running cables from the inside of the box to the outside through the over hanging entry ports they designed it. I preferred mounting port connectors. It has a strap to secure around the box to give extra help in keeping the cover on. etc. By the way, that unused space.... I use to store my coax cable, extra fuses, and more. Clean and dry. I had a special use for this box, if your using for a 12vdc lead acid filled battery for your boat, trailer etc. I'm sure it will work as advertised.

Tough Battery Box
No cheapie stuff on this one. I ordered it to make it easier to carry a 65-pound deep-cycle battery for camping purposes. (Kind of dangerous to transport batteries loose in the camping gear in the back of your truck) Top locks in place solidly. Handles would hold up a 100-pound battery if you wanted, no problem. Comes with a very solid strap you can run through the handles for easier carrying, but I used it instead to tie across the middle of the box because the side handles work fine. When I get to the campsite, I just pull back the lid a bit and tap into the battery with my 750-watt inverter. Power all week, as they say. If you are looking for one heck of a solid battery box, you came to the right place.

Nice Case, But Check Your Battery Dimensions
Not all 6V golf cart batteries are the same size, even when they specify a GC2 box/case. This box/case fits my Interstate GC2-RD's perfectly, extending about 1/2" above the top of the battery housing. But, with my Trojan T105-RE's, the case is about 1/2" BELOW the top of the battery housing. Not a huge issue, as the top cover of the box/case still fits, but I prefer the box/case to be above the top of the battery housing. Overall build quality of the box/case is excellent, the cover fits nicely and is easy to take on/off. A quality item that should give me years of service.

Battle Born 12 volt 100 amp hour battery fit, I would buy this battery box a second time
My 12 volt Battle Born lithium ion 100 amp hour battery fits in the Group 27 battery box. This box with battery sit behind the propane tanks on my travel trailer. The battery fit with about a half inch gap that allows the battery to jiggle, so I used some scrap foam shoved between the battery and box to make the fit more secure. My Forest River toy hauler was constructed using battery cables that are thin but surprisingly hard to work into position. Even in 80 degree temps the battery cables are as flexible as a garden hose in sub freezing temperatures, so I did not enjoy working the cables up to the battery. That said, the battery box lid did allow me to neatly and securely route the battery cables to the posts on the battery. I would buy the battery box a second time.

Good value box
Hard to beat the value. The 6 volt size will perfectly fit a Trojan T105, or most 220 AmpHour 6 volts. I mounted mine on an angle iron rack built into a travel-trailer tongue, so the box material did not have to be structurally rigid. This will protect well against water or rocks from the roadway. There is a shielded gap in the lid, where you can run a connecting cable to a second 6 volt for use in a series. The strap is good for nothing more than holding the lid on. You will want to buy an additional strap if mounting this box externally to a vehicle or trailer. The price is what I though a plastic box should cost. Many cost more.

Great Value and Quality
This is a GREAT battery box, especially for the price. I have a series 24 battery but needed the extra space to outfit a "WATERWICH 2 3 4 Hole Marine Illuminated Toggle Rocker Switch Panel". I have a PUP and space is hard to come by. This box worked PERFECT. There is a divider inside that allows you to space it out to the correct dimensions. Unfortunately my initial project I cut a wrong hole and I'm also needing to add an additional battery to my setup. I just purchased an additional 2 of these to complete my project in full. For the price you just can't go wrong.

If you have a battery that you are going to use for something like a solar setup, you need to invest in a battery box. Heck, I don't like spending money that I don't have to spend, but a battery box is a must. This one is well designed and the straps are just fine.

Group 24 box: Check this review for dimensions, if in doubt
This is for the Group 24 box. Great product, seems to be sturdy, and the strap and strap-down brackets seem like a nice touch. In case you are worried about inner dimensions, it fit my 36R battery perfectly. So, here are the inner dimensions: Width: up to 7 3/16", Length: up to 10 3/8", Depth; 8 1/2", but keep in mind that the lid provides another 1 1/2" overhead room. Seems sturdy, and gives the extra spill and mechanical protection to the battery. My reason for buying this box is that I had an almost new car battery that I want to use in case of power outages to power my electronics. I realize that my battery is not a deep cycle one, but I don't plan on using it that heavily, so it will serve the purpose. So, this Group 24 box worked perfectly, despite my reservations about the inner dimensions. Seeing as I had my doubts, I figured I'll save the guesswork for other buyers.

Good product
This battery box seems well made. I think it will work fine in marine applications. NOTE-PEASE READ: My reservation to potential buyers of this box is this: This battery box is supposed to come with a spacer and strap. Mine came with SIX of EACH. Hopefully this doesn't mean that five other people who buy this box won't get shorted. I can only assume they are shipped in quantities of a half dozen and someone forgot to distribute the straps and spacers. Just a heads up...
