When I decided I wanted to homemake all of my baby's organic baby food, I did A LOT of research on what blenders would be the best. I initially was going to purchase a Beaba Babycook Pro 2x. But there were a lot of bad reviews and issues with mold growth. And a Vitamix was beyond what I wanted to spend for making baby food. That's when I found Ninja. I was a little skeptical at first because of the low price point. But I decided to give the Master Prep Professional a try. Wow, just wow. This blender is amazing. I've been using this unit for over 3 months now. Which may not seem like a long time. But it is when you're using it almost daily. This bad boy can handle any challenge I throw it's way. Carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, cheese, avocado, tofu, kale, broccoli, berries, ice etc, etc. I could go on and on. It can puree just about everything to a smooth consistency. Raw or cooked, hot or cold. Yes, this machine works extremely well for hot food. I remove my food from the steamer and immediately start blending in the Ninja. In the beginning I would add formula to help the puree blend to a smoother, thinner consistency. But now I blend food without adding any liquid. Doing it this way will take a little bit longer to blend, but you will still get the same results. The only things I found is that I need to remove the blade and use a spatula to give the food a good mix, then push the blade back in and finish blending. WHAT I LOVE: •All three containers blend food evenly. The blades rotate the food around the container when blending. But if I'm blending a large amount of thick food (potatoes), I will stir the food once by hand. •This setup comes with 3 different sized containers to blend in. One small-2 cup container, One medium-5 cup container & one large-6 cup container. •Each blending container has it's own blade. Both the small and medium containers have 2 tiers of blades. The large container has a three tier blade. I find myself using the largest container most often. Mainly because I make food in large batches. •The smallest container is perfect for whipping up single size servings. I can even blend just one avocado. The blades won't just push the avocado to the sides like it does in a food processor. •The medium and large container has a pouring spout that makes adding liquid to the pitcher a breeze when I'm blending. No need to remove the lid. I simply lift the flap covering the spout and pour the liquid into the pitcher. •This Ninja is SO easy to use. There literally is only one button that you can press. I place the blade into the pitcher, pour my food in, snap the lid on, attach the motor on top of the pitcher (the motor will only fit on one way, so it's easy to know if it's properly attached) and press the button. •You don't have to "pulse" blend your food like other reviewers have stated. I hold the button down for long stretches of time and have never had an issue with this. •Each container has non-skid rubber on the bottom. •Two of the three containers have easy pour spouts. And handles. This is nice for filling my freezer trays up with baby food. •Pretty easy to clean. I love how the blades are removable. It so much easier to clean than a traditional blender. Obviously, you have to clean the blades with care. Those bad boys are crazy sharp. They will tear up your washcloth, fingers and dish brush if you're not careful. •No leaks when mixing. Even if I have the pitcher filler to the top. Which brings me to the next thing I love.. •You can pack these pitchers full of food and the food will still blend as nicely as it would being half full. •Amazing price. WHAT I DON'T LOVE: •This blender will NOT puree berries to a completely smooth consistency. Meaning, it will not crush the seeds. No matter how much you blend or how much liquid you add, the texture will be grainy. BUT pretty much every blender outside of a Blendtec or Vitamix will have this issue. •Only two of the containers have storage lids. I wish each container had it's own lid. •Even with the non-skid rubber on the bottom, this blender moves while blending. It will make it's way across my counter when I'm blending. •The pitchers are made of plastic. I would love if there was a glass option. •The mixing lids are hard to clean because there are so many nooks and crannies. Overall, for the price you cannot get any better than this Ninja Master Prep Professional. It's perfect for making baby food. I'm very happy and would highly recommend.

Got this a year ago but only started using it recently. So far I've made almond butter which was messy and a lot of work because I had to keep dumping it into a bowl, mixing it, and returning to the Ninja; but I used roasted nuts instead of raw nuts. It took me a while to figure how to get the splash guard on the bowl (smallest container), so it was very frustrating and difficult for a while. The instructions are not specific, and if you don't place it over the bowl correctly it won't snap in place properly and then the pod won't work on it. I like that it has 3 different sizes of containers, each with their own blades. They are easy to clean, but the pod (piece with motor in it) has to be wiped down instead of fully washed. So far I've used it for the almond butter mentioned above, salsa, guacamole, hummus; to make oat flour from rolled oats, to make coconut flour from dried coconut flakes, to make almond meal from roasted nuts; to make chocolate balls with roasted almonds, cocoa powder, and dates; to make walnut milk with raw walnuts & water, to make almond milk with raw almonds & water, and to blend creamed soups. As long as it continues to work well I'm pleased with it. I especially love the ease of making hummus which is a favorite of mine for healthy snacks. The old food blenders would cause the chick peas to clog at the bottom, so I had given up on making hummus. Now with the Ninja Master Prep it's a breeze. I keep finding more uses for it, and I only started using it last week. Can hardly wait to try it on chick peas (garbanzo beans) and other beans to make flours for veggie patties, falafal, vegan omelettes, etc. My only problem with this so far is the difficulty of getting the lid on the small container which is the container that I use the most (so far). I'm hoping that it will be able to grind dried chick peas and beans to make flours from them.

Why did I go for so many years without a food processor??? Just be aware as others have said that the blades are very SHARP and it is VERY easy to get cut on them! I did the 4th time I washed the blades, and I really knew better. However, it does exactly what I need it to do and is easy to clean (if you just be careful of the blades). I tried cheese grating with it and it worked beautifully! Just be sure to cut the pieces 1" or smaller. I riced cauliflower with it for my keto recipes. It's powerful, efficient, and over all just great! Love the different size containers and lids that come with it. I didn't know how I'd like the motor module on top and having to press it to make it work, but hey, who turns on a food processor and walks away? I know I can't make mayo with it, but I do have a blender I can use for that. I like this so much I sent one to my daughter as a Mother's Day Gift.

After a year and a half I am upgrading my review to 5 stars. It has been durable and highly useful. I use it to chop onions and garlic for spaghetti sauce, and to make pesto with homegrown basil. There are a few flaws but these are mainly flaws in documentation. There is an undocumented feature the instructions make no mention of. The splash guards are keyed and must be twisted/rotated into place to seal and mate properly with the jar. Once you figure this out, the jars seal just fine. Figuring it out is the tricky part. On the small bowl I've found it best to twist the splash guard into place. It then comes off simply by lifting. Each blade assembly fits only one jar. It is important to size the jar to the job. I use the medium-size jar to chop onions and the small jar to make pesto. The multi-level blade assemblies contribute greatly to its chopping efficiency, so much so that one has to be careful not to overdo it. For example, when chopping onions, be careful not to chop too much or you'll wind up with onion puree instead of a chopped onion. Make absolutely sure the blade assembly is properly seated on the spindle before using. Also, be careful when handling the blade assemblies. The blades are SHARP and it's easy to cut your finger on them (as I found out the hard way).

12-2016: I'm very pleased with my Ninja Master Prep Professional. Really does make snow from ice, excellent icy beverages, fruit sorbets and excellent smoothies. Makes guacamole in seconds. Being ALMOST vegetarian because of health reasons but unwilling to compromise on flavor, texture, visual appeal, AND nutritional content... This is the machine for me. So easy to use, takes literally just seconds to clean up, so far I can't come up with a down side. Unless it was the blades. Be careful. They're so wonderful sharp that one could get hurt if not respecting them. *2-2018 Update* Still not one negative thing to say, I continue to use my Ninja set almost daily, and I LOVE IT! Makes my salsa fresca, chops my veggies for soups, omelettes and more. The meat I do eat I pulse grind with the Ninja for patties, meatloaf, sausage, etc. Attached is a photo of chickpea hummus, yum! Once you have this your only limitation is your imagination, truly. 😃

I love it. 3 sizes of cups fit whatever you are chopping or blending. The motor is impressive, strong. Ease of assembly and use is great. Ice cubes don't have a chance of slugging this thing down; in seconds they are slush. Blade positioning and profile is awesome. Just be sure to carefully remove them (they are sharp!) and disassemble the two-piece locked together blade set to clean the inside and outside thoroughly. Over about two years time I ran through three different drink blenders and they burned out, busted out, just stopped working. My son has owned this same exact Ninja Master Prep Professional set for a couple of years and loves it too. He finally told me to stop wasting money on other (Old name brand) blenders and just get the best. He was right, this Ninja is the best!

This is a fantastic product that my wife and I use every day. We had been using a pretty simple blender one of us had had since college with just a low and high speed until recently when it finally gave out. I'd always been a little bit annoyed by it as it never really had the power to chew up ice or frozen fruit, and very often the bottom would blend to liquid while the top would stay chunky. Not so with the Ninja Master Prep Professional! My wife makes smoothies almost every morning for breakfast and this thing handles them like a champ. Ice, frozen fruit, even things like sticky peanut butter or almond butter turn into a super smooth smoothie. It's powerful and fast, but it goes just the right speed so you can get things to be just a little bit chunky if you want by tapping it a few times, or really super smooth by holding it down for a bit. I use the two smaller containers for cooking, and it makes nearly all kinds of mincing, blending, and saucemaking a snap. Everything is super easy to clean and I can do onions and have it cleaned and ready for something else within about 2 minutes. I've had zero issues with power, no problems with anything breaking, and the double blades are great to keep everything evenly blended/cut. All in all, I would buy this again over any of those 400 dollar blenders!

I read a ton of reviews about how this will break down, leave chunks of plastic in your food, the pitcher will crack, etc. before finally deciding to risk it and get one for my birthday last year. I had a separate blender and a food processor that were both on their way out, so I killed two birds with one stone and bought the Ninja Pro for $40, crossed my fingers, and hoped for the best. I'm happy that I did. I've found this set to be incredibly useful for blending sauces, salsas, and so forth. I also use it to chop numerous items (mostly veggies like carrots, onions, celery, etc.). That's the majority of what I use it for, and I do so quite a few times a week, and so far (in 7-8 months of regular use) it's been perfect. I've only used the blender maybe 10 times or so for margaritas, so I can't speak on that with any authority, but I will say that for $40 the chopper/processor is amazing and well worth it.

This thing is great, simple but very powerful. I bought this one for my girlfriend who sells desserts and appetizers and this product has been the most practical thing for her. The blades of this will chop anything, and you can see this as an all-in-one, you can blend, chop or liquify anything (even your hand if you're not careful). Cleaning it is very easy because the disassemble of this is very easy and fast to do (again careful with your hands when cleaning the blades). The only thing I think would be better of this is to have the motor as a base and not be moving it from side to side because it more prone to falls that way. Specially when you do a lot of cooking for events that sometimes you're doing things very fast. Unfortunately the one that I ordered had an issue were from time to time it wouldn't start, warranty sent another one for free and let me keep the damaged one. In a free time I had I opened it to try to see if I could fix it and found out it had an easy fix, the issue was that the electromagnetic mass sometimes stops in a position that when started again it wouldn't rotate, so by just rotating it a bit it would work again right away and it could be done without having to open it by just turning the piece on outter side with anything at hand (like the back of a fork or even a pen). The only thing is that it's kind of uncomfortable that you would have to do this from time to time but she has it there as a backup if the new one fails at any time.

I bought this for my son's girlfriend. She turned 21 and I wasn't sure what to buy her. So my son suggested a margarita maker. Well, I priced those and a decent margarita maker was about $200! That was not happening, so I looked for more affordable alternatives and found the Ninja! You get exactly what you see in the picture and the containers are made well. They are plastic, but it is a thick plastic. Very durable. About a week ago they brought the Ninja over and made me a margarita. It crushed the ice like nobodies business. Now, these two have never made a margarita before, so it wasn't exactly like you get at a restaurant, but it was very good! And I think once she starts using it a bit more, she will get the hang of how long to blend the ice. They also tried making my daughter a milkshake! It didn't taste very good because of what they put in it! But the Ninja did a fine job making it! I think they should just use a recipe next time! The blades on these babies are sharp too. For some reason they left the container and blade at my house instead of bringing it home with her ( she lives with her parents). So, I put the container in the dishwasher and hand washed the blades with a brush. I had put it on the back of the kitchen sink to dry. So yesterday I was cleaning vegetables at the sink and some how my hand (knuckle) hit part of the blade and I got cut. It is deep and it bled. Ouch. Because these blades are so sharp, it is a straight clean cut. So I steerie-stripped my knuckle and it finally quit bleeding. So please note that these blades are extremely sharp! Be careful! Also, when cleaning, I would do it right away so nothing has time to dry on it and I would use some sort of brush with a handle so your hands are less likely to come into contact with the blades. Ninja definitely lives up to its reputation with this product. If you're looking for a machine to make margaritas and more and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars- this is the machine for you!
