Bought this with an Amacope Microscope and it has been the hot item of Christmas. Our kids are fascinated and spent 3 hours on Christmas Day looking at nothing more than these slides :)

I purchased this set for Christmas along with a new family microscope. I am very pleased with the quality of this set. The cases are constructed well with brass hinges and latches and hold 100 samples each for a total of 200. The slots are numbered and each slide is numbered and labeled so you know exactly what each slide is and where it belongs. We haven't had a chance to look at all the slides yet since we look at each under three different magnifications and we take turns panning all around the slides using the mechanical stage. My 9 year old son is very interested in these slides and he really enjoys placing the eyepiece pointer on a particular point and then ask me to look at something neat he discovered within the sample. We've only looked at a handful of slides but I feel like I got a great deal in this set. Especially compared to small sets packed in cardboard that cost over $1.50 for EACH slide!

These are neat slides. I am very impressed. I purchased these for my middle school science classes, along with the set of 100 by the same company. All 300 slides are different. They cover every area that my students might need to see, including plant parts, plant cells, animal parts, animal cells, all four tissue types, different systems, and organisms. The case is durable, and numbered to keep the slides organized. This is a great product!

My original feedback stated I was short one slide out of 200. Contacted by AmScope & missing slide replaced. Excellent customer service. Excellent product. All arrived in excellent condition. Both boxes come with print out of slide identifcation. Yes, I would recommend.

I bought these slides to teach my kids about microscopy (I don't home school I'm just nerdy). The slides are well prepared and nicely labeled. The boxes are high quality and easy to use. I use a microscope as part of my occupation (I'm a doctor) and these compare favorably with any professionally prepared slides that I have used in my training or at work. I highly recommend this set if you want a broad sampling of specimens to look at. Incidentally the set does include dog rectum and my 9 year old daughter wanted me to include that she thinks thinks, "that is gross," in my review. My 7 year old son had no problems with dog rectum.

My oldest just turned 8 and we just got them a good microscope, so I picked up this set so that they would have something to peak their curiosity for the next 20 years. Getting 200 slides gives you a lot of options and I saw no way of being assured of getting two different 100pc sets (try one now and get the other later). There are two boxes and the list included within is a simple 8.5x11 piece of folded paper, which does not quite fit, so I cut it down to size (and scanned them just to be safe). We have only had them one day, but so far we have spend over an hour looking at them. I'd say this is a must-have purchase if you have kids over 7 years old and a good microscope. We got them this one during a Christmas Season Lightning Deal: Celestron 44104 500x Power Advanced Biological Microscope

These are really great slides, over a broad spectrum of biology. The box came in perfect condition and the slides are labled and ordered from 1-100 in each box with a sheet to help you find the slide you want to look at. The only negitive is the latches are of poor quality, however the box fits over itself well enough that the latch probably isnt needed.

Large number of high quality slides. Some not so good - but rare. Overall worth twice the money I paid.

These arrived in perfect condition. There is a foam sheet laid inside the cover protecting the slides, and both boxes were taped shut over the latches, and packaged inside a cardboard sleeve (making it very hard to open inside their shipping box). Mine had the name Amscope printed on the outside of each wooden box in red ink (Amscope also makes decent microscope products). Each slide that I looked at had the appropriate item on it, although some were a little hard to find (some of the pollen samples were only on a small portion of the slide, and if the microscope wasn't focused and in the proper area of the slide, it would appear empty). The only problem/gripe that I have is that some of the words are misspelled, probably due to a non-English-speaking person typing up the words to the slide labels, and the words not being checked before mass-production (for example, Aut instead of Ant- for someone looking only for the correct letter, it might appear as if a 'u' is an 'n' at a quick glance). Other than that, the slides themselves are great. *Also, these were bought for a boy who is almost five, and kept his interest for over an hour on just the first day. Of course, if the person has a short attention span, doesn't like self-taught learning, or has been kept entertained with a constant stream of electronic amusement, this item and an accompanying microscope will get shoved into a closet, or more tragically, end up at Goodwill or the garbage can really fast. For that kind of person, I'd choose something a little lower in total educational immersion but still with the same interest-growing possibilities (maybe Magic School Bus DVDs, some LeapPad cartridges, or a toy that gives an immediate reward for little output- Snap Circuits, Magnext, or a Cranium company toy).

We ordered one set of these and they came absolutely shattered. Thankfully Amazon accepted our return and refunded our money and gave us the option to order them again. The second time they arrived fully intact, and we love them. The specimens are clear and clearly labeled, and we really enjoy this set!
