Watch your polarity.
There is nothing wrong with these relays. The reviewer that had the shorted one caused the short by hooking up the coil backwards. When you have a fly wheeling diode across the coil, you have to observe polarity. If you hook it up backwards, it smokes the diode and becomes a dead short forever.
