I love these little calculators. The batteries last forever and the percentage button works as I expect it to on this unit. Their is something about having a tactical unit that I like using better than a smartphone version. I'm often crunching numbers while on the phone, so having a desk unit was a must. I have three of these. One for every office I do business out of. I've been using them for years and have yet to replace a battery in any of them! Product dimensions are: 3.5" wide x 4.5" deep by 1.125" high. This unit weighs a scant 2.2 oz.

I have always preferred the key layout of Canon desktop calculators. For the price of the MP11DX, you can't go too far wrong. The calculator is fast enough to keep up with me and the printout is clear and easy to read. Hopefully, a person buying a Canon desktop calculator will already know its basic operating procedures, because Canon instruction manuals are among the worst instruction manuals ever conceived. The instructions for the MP11DX are especially bad. The manual maintains its sustained awfulness as it goes from one cryptic calculation example to the next. It just doesn't get any worse than this. One of the main attractions of the Canon MP11DX is its Calendar and Clock functions. Judging from the reviews, I am the only one who had a problem setting up the Calendar and Clock. Setting the Calendar and Clock functions was quite a challenge for me because my instruction manual provides somewhat confusing documentation of this subject. The manual's first step in this procedure pictures a key with icons of a calendar and a clock. While this key is actually on the keyboard of the calculator, there are pictures of 4 other keys which do not exist: a "12/24" key, a "Time Set" key, an "AM/PM" key and a "Format" key. *** *** *** UPDATE, October 11, 2013: As pointed out by S. Busby in the comments below, the four missing keys (or in this case, labels) may actually be present on all Canon MP11DX models and I found them on mine. After owning the calculator for over a year and a half, I finally held it under a lamp and looked straight down at the keyboard. Under ordinary circumstances the little black labels printed on the case at the top of the various keys would be hidden behind the keys. Here are the clock-set labels and their corresponding keys: 12/24 = Division Key Format = Percent/Plus/Minus Key Time Set = Equals Key AM/PM = Multiply Key *** *** *** Anyway, if you were unable to set the calendar/clock on the MP11DX by following the Canon instructions, you might want to try the procedure that worked for me: 1. Turn the calculator on and press the Calendar/Clock button which is to the right of the FEED button. (One press shows the Calendar and a second press shows the Clock.) 2. Select either the Calendar or Clock mode, then press and hold the "Equals" key for three seconds. 3. When the first number of the Calendar or Clock display starts to flash, enter the date or time. 4. When setting the Calendar, the date will be displayed as MM/DD/YYYY. Use the "Percent/Plus/Minus" key to switch to either the YYYY/MM/DD or the DD/MM/YYYY formats shown in the instructions. 5. When setting the Clock, the "Multiply" key switches between AM and PM. Use the "Division" key to switch between 12 and 24 hour modes.) 6. After setting the Calendar or Clock mode, press the "Equals" key to lock in the setting. 7. Press the CE/C key to exit the setup mode. 8. Be sure to remove the little clear plastic strip from the battery compartment located on the bottom of the calculator so that the date and time won't be lost. The specifications say that the battery is a CR2025, but the battery in my unit is a CR2032.

This is my favorite calculator!! I've been using older model probably more than 10 years, and now I wanted to get another one for my backpack. The size is perfect for carrying around, in a backpack or in a pocket. So light and compact. And easy to view because the display is angled. But those who has big hands / fingers, make sure the size of this calculater. Even this is the great one, maybe this is not for you. The photo is my older version. Still working nicely!!

I have a larger Business edition Canon that I’ve had for years and really like and use a lot. The problem is that everyone else likes it too and it is never on my desk where it is supposed to be! So I thought I would try this little one and put it out as bait. It is small, simple and cute. It is smaller than I realized it would be as the entire thing fits in my hand. However it is great for carrying around and using wherever you may need it. It is also easy to move around amongst stacks of papers and receipts on your desk. The little drawback that I’ve found is that it’s smaller buttons are harder to use as fast as larger ones. It is kind of like going from typing on a full sized keyboard to using one on a small laptop. You trade a little finger room for portability. If you have big fingers you probably will feel like your doing calculations in your smartphone, otherwise this is a great little calculator from Canon. It even works well in dim lighting situations. Often the brightness of my computer screen alone will power its tiny solar cell.

My mother used an older model of this calculator for years. She was devastated when it malfunctioned because I could not find another one exactly like it. I calmed her down (apparently calculators are very important to her) and suggested we order the new model. She was reluctant, but we ordered it anyway. I am glad we did. She loves it! It functions like her old one and even has a few more bells and whistles. I am thrilled with the purchase as I am always grateful to keep my mother happy! :)

Simple can be a great thing. Especially when it comes to crunching numbers. This review is way past due but this calculator is still going strong..no software updates or crashes or screen freeze. Nothing but an always ready to roll number cruncher. Has come in handy numerous times. Its like a pen or pencil. You always want to have this baby nearby and accessible.

It simply works well. Buttons are responsive, and have a nice feel to them. Calculator works fine most all light levels, as the screen has a nice contrast ratio at most angles. Very lightweight, so feels a little cheap, but is deceptively robust (has survived a number of drops).

Bought this for a friend. She really likes it a lot! It was a Christmas gift 2 years ago and she still talks about it and how much she likes it, easy to use, she can read the numbers, and really appreciates this as a gift, especially since how much she needed it and didn't know where to buy something like this because she's more into buying clothing and fashion accessories.

I got this calculator because I was tired of having to find the calculator app on my iphone. What I really needed is something in hands reach that I can add or subtract the dozens of things throughout my work day to help things run smoother. This calculator is sturdy, well built and has exactly what I need for every day use. If you want a calculator that is well made and user friendly, get this one. BTW, my son used it today for some summer school homework he had as well.

I really like this calculator because it's so easy to use and so easy to read. There are a lot of calculators out there that are set in such a way that the lighing behind you or above you makes it difficult to read or makes it easy to MISREAD. The paper roll is very easy to load and doesn't fall off and roll across the floor while you're using it. This is such a nice calculator that my girlfriend is now using it at work...yep she liked it so much she has permanently borrowed it. And did I mention that the keys are perfect not too big and gaudy or too small and clumsy.
